Suggestions For Future Versions of Windows
2007-11-10 22:52:00 The Windows Early Feedback program was created by Microsoft as a means of rounding up suggestions and feedback that may be considered for implementation in future iterations of the Windows operating system. The team in charge of the program has collected and released a list of (what they consider to be) the top 61 suggestions to be presented to the development team of Windows 7.The ideas being presented to the team range from basic usability improvements, such as a download manager in Internet Explorer, to more far fetched ideas, such as the ability to back up Xbox 360 games to a PC (good luck with that one). Some of the top suggestions are even features that were promised for and then dropped from Vista, such as a completely vectorized graphical user interface. A more complete list can be found here.Source: Neowin More About: Future

And you'd have free reign to customize these messages."As an example, the facility may select a goodbye message based on the identity of the converser," the patent reads, in standard patent-speak. "As another example, the facility may select a goodbye message randomly. As another example, the facility may select a goodbye message based on other aspects of the conversation, such as time of day, length of conversation, mood indicated by the user, and so forth."You could argue that IRC clients have offered this sort of thing for years, b... Now...what about a 100x faster hard drive?
2007-11-08 19:42:00 ioDrive is the industry's first, NAND based enterprise storage solution that provides access rates comparable to DRAM with storage capacity on par with disks — being able to improve both memory capacity and storage performance by 100x.It uses a PCIe x4 connector to enable rapid implementation into today's commodity-off-the-shelf (COTS) servers and workstation configurations that have a PCIe connector.ioDrive is designed to deliver 87,500 IOPS (input/output per second @ 8K packets) per PCIe x4 card, while achieving sustained data rates of 700MB/sec (Read) and 600MB/sec (Write), making the ioDrive almost a thousand times faster than any existing disk drive.ioDrive is not an SSD. It is a truly innovative silicon based storage solution that eliminates the inherent limitations of traditional storage. It looks nice, but at what price? Fusion-io (the grup how makes this drives) is targeting a retail price of approximately $30 per Gigabyte for the ioDrive, expensive i can say considering... More About: Hard , Hard Drive , Aster
