Does lightning affect iPod and Cellphone users more than others? A first glance at the headline of an article by Associated Press certainly seems to suggest so. A Canadian jogger suffered wishbone-shaped chest and neck burns, ruptured eardrums and a broken jaw when lightning traveled through his music player's wires." and adds another anecdote "Last summer, a Colorado teen ended up with similar injuries when lightning struck nearby as he was listening to his iPod while mowing the lawn."  read more »

Open Source Community challenges Microsoft
2007-06-07 23:17:00
The Open Source Community , particularly some die-hard Linux fans have openly challenged Microsoft . Microsoft has been claiming for quite a few years now, that Open Source Software especially GNU Linux infringes several of their copyrights. Though this information is quite believable, what is not quite understandable is Microsoft's reluctance to divulge exactly which copyrights are being infringed. The latest claim made by Brad Smith (who is general counsel to Microsoft), during an interview with Fortune Magazine is that Linux infringes no less than 235 patents of Microsoft. To many this seems nothing more than a ploy to scare people into buying Microsoft's Operating Systems, over rival Open Source Linux Operating Systems which have been consistently growing in acceptance reducing Microsoft's share of the Operating System market.  read more »
