David Dein leaves Arsenal, but Wenger is staying
2007-04-19 12:20:00
Arsenal vice-chairman, David Dein has dropped a bomb on the Arsenal fans by exiting the club. Dein, who was instrumental in bringing Arsene Wenger to the club in October 1996 has shared a close relationship with the Frenchman. He left the club on April 18, 2007 with immediate effect because of “irreconcilable differences” with the ...

Arsenal move to third with win over City
2007-04-18 07:50:00
Just as we thought a week ago that Arsenal wouldn’t even make it to 4th spot to secure a Champions League place, we’re now sitting 8 points clear of Bolton thanks to goals from Tomas Rosicky, Cesc Fabregas and yes, Julio Baptista. Arsenal took the lead surprisingly, through a poacher’s goal from Rosicky which mirrored ...

The top 5 compression software alternatives
2007-04-17 12:25:00
I will be analyzing five programs as well as WinZip in this compression software roundup. There are two tests involved, a big filesize and small filesize test, with the subjects being 43.2 mb and 1.74 mb respectively. WinZip gave compression results of 39.5 mb and 1.70 mb respectively. Apart from that, I have reviewed the ...

Midfield goals gun Bolton
2007-04-16 19:40:00
Finally, after about a month I’ve been able to rejoice at a convincing Arsenal victory at the Emirates. An early goal from former Arsenal frontman, Nicholas Anelka received a response through Tomas Rosicky in the first half. Thirty seconds after the game restarted, Cesc Fabregas slotted in the winner, which happened to be his first ...

CL week, pre-Bolton, takeover and transfer talk
2007-04-13 17:12:00
This week has been annoying. I didn’t stay up for the Champions League matches because of the timings and because Arsenal wasn’t involved. If they were though, I would have watched. I managed to watch Manchester United thrash AS Roma 7-1 and Chelsea edge pass Valencia 2-1 through the highlights. The Theatre of Dreams, as ...

Windows XP out, but SP3 in?
2007-04-12 17:26:00
Unfortunate as it may seem, we shall say goodbye to Wind ows XP OEM by the end of this year although people have protested against this due to Vista’s compatibility problems. This means that that by early 2008 Microsoft’s contract with computer-makers will require them to ship Vista with their machines instead of XP. “The OEM version ...

Scoreless draw at St. James’ Park
2007-04-09 19:01:00
Newcastle United 0 - 0 Arsenal. Easily the most boring match I’ve ever seen. All I can express is how disappointed I am in seeing such a poor desire in tonight’s performance by Arsenal. Tomas Rosicky was ruled out due to sickness before kick-off which meant Abou Diaby would start on the left. Oddly, Wenger made him play next to Adebayor almost like a second striker. Early on, Hleb took a left-foot shot to test Shay Given. However, the Magpies’ number 1, was injured 25 minutes into the match and was replaced by Steve Harper. Yet that did not force Arsenal to seize the initiative and test the substitute keeper. Freddie Ljungberg was fouled outside the penalty box but referee Howard Webbe ignored a tackle that was easily worth a red card. How that would have changed the complexion of the game is a mystery, really. Damien Duff missed the best chance of the first half with a sliding effort from a Gael Clichy clearance. The game was scrappy on Arsenal’s part with s...

Arsenal?s unbeaten record at the Emirates ends
2007-04-07 19:44:00
Arsenal 0 - 1 West Ham. The relegation-threatened West Ham United stunned Arsenal by securing all 3 points courtesy of a strike from Bobby Zamora seconds before the sides went into half-time. It was clearly off-side, but referee Graham Poll didn’t seem to think so. The first 10 minutes of the game saw wave after ...
