2008-04-18 03:27:00 Não quero, tenho horror que a sepulturamude em vermes meu corpo enregelado;se no fogo viveu minha alma pura,quero o meu corpo morto calcinado.Depois de ser em cinzas transformado,lancem-me ao vento, ao seio da Natura;quero viver no espaço ilimitado,no mar, na terra, na celeste altura.E talvez no teu seio, ó virgem linda,tão branco como o seio da virtude,eu, feito em cinzas, me introduza ainda!E no teu coração pequeno e forte(ó gozo triste!) viva eu na morte,já que na vida lá viver não pude.Caetano da Costa Alegre nasceu em Vila da Trindade (São Tomé) a 26 de Abril de 1864 e morreu, tuberculoso, em Alcobaça a 18 de Abril de 1890. Veio com 19 anos para a metrópole, onde fez os estudos preparatórios, matriculando-se na Escola Médica de Lisboa, mas a morte surpreendeu-o durante o 3.º ano do curso.
