Fans of Dog show their support… I think.
2007-11-03 20:52:00
It might look like they’re having a laugh over the latest controversy to surround Duane Chapman and his verbal tirade on the answering machine. Over at Gossip Rocks, they’ve got an article about the support he’s receiving from fans in Hawaii. Fans and neighbors of the Dog defended the bounty hunter yesterday and expressed hope his A&E reality show is not in jeopardy from his use of racial slurs in a taped conversation. “What he does in private shouldn’t affect the show whatsoever,” said Amy Lusk, 23, of Aubrey, Texas, who hoped to catch a glimpse of Duane “Dog” Chapman and his son Leland at his Honolulu Da Kine Bail Bonds office. “Hopefully, you’re wrong,” she told a reporter who informed her the show might be suspended. “There’ll be a lot of upset people.” The article over at Gossip Rocks continues to include more commentary from people who have a few words to say about Dog and his use of the ...

Dog’s Public Apology
2007-11-02 15:03:00
Robyn over at Orato, brings news of Dog apologizing for the racial slur that was was all over the news yesterday. “Duane “Dog” Chapman finds himself in hot water after it is leaked that he used the “N-word” in a heated, private telephone conversation with his son. In this exclusive statement, Dog apologizes to his fans, saying he will do whatever it takes to restore balance. Chapman’s show Dog The Bounty Hunter is A&E’s number one rated show, and his book You Can Run But You Can’t Hide went number one on the non-fiction Best Seller’s list. This latest infraction will once again test his fans’ loyalty and his ability to redeem himself in crisis.” Duane “Dog” Chapman explains the tirade, My sincerest, heartfelt appologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a h...

Dog screws up and calls his son’s girlfriend a ni**er
2007-11-01 22:53:00
It’s all over the news today. Duane “Dog” Chapman called his son’s girlfriend the “n-word”. Is his career over? Here is a transcript of the audio tape obtained by the National Enquirer of Dog the Bounty Hunter ordering his son Tucker to break up with his girlfriend who is black. Tucker was recently released from prison where he was serving 20 years on drug charges. Duane “Dog” Chapman: I don’t care if she’s a Mexican, a whore or whatever. It’s not because she’s black, it’s because we use the word ni**er sometimes here. I’m not gonna take a chance ever in life of losing everything I’ve worked for for 30 years because some fucking ni**er heard us say ni**er and turned us in to the Enquirer magazine. Our career is over! I’m not taking that chance at all! Never in life! Never! Never! If Lyssa [Dog’s daughter] was dating a ni**er, we would all say ‘fuck you!’ And you know ...

Story at Digg
2007-10-16 03:23:00
Over at Digg we’ve got a story about Dog the Bounty Hunter - and this article has been written by Duane Dog Chapman!  Check out Orato for his article on “The Dog’s Life: Struggle in Paradise”.  How cool is this.  All in the first person - all by Dog the Bounty Hunter! Americans are intrigued because bounty hunting is one of the oldest laws on the books, and what we do is real life. It’s unplanned, unscripted and happens everyday. Some game shows call themselves reality television…they’re not. We are true reality, shot exactly the way the bounty goes down. Check out what Duane has to say… pretty cool!

2007-10-15 03:17:00
Steve Kayser over at Riffs, Tiffs and Whiffs writes about Dog the Bounty Hunter and his struggles to overcome the obstacles in his life - this one with Mexico. I found the story a bit hard to follow, but I did really enjoy the images that Steve has on his site.  The story is an interesting one (albeit, a tad confusing… did I mention that already?!)   I enjoy reading these sorts of articles that aren’t your everyday sort of story.  Read the story and enjoy the images.
When Dog wants to be Respected…
2007-10-14 03:12:00
… and not feared.  Over at BuddyTV, they’ve got a good article about Duane Dog Chapman not wanting to be feared, but respected. “Kids look at me put on this gold badge and it’s like Superman. The badge is the law,” he said.  “But I want that kid and others like him to know that strength comes in two ways, through fear and respect.  Personally, I’d rather be respected than feared.” I think as Duane has gotten older, he’s become more philosophical.  Perhaps in our youth, we want to instill the fear into those who need that to get our attention.  I think as we all get older, the want to cause fear disappears and respect becomes far more important.    In the job that Duane Chapman is in, I think it’s hard not to feel fearful of him.  He comes at you all mouth and pepper spray.  No guns, but damn, I’d be scared…. fearful!  I think after the blast, and when he gets a chance to talk to the criminals in the...

You can Run but you can’t hide… a Review
2007-10-11 17:05:00
There seems to be a lot of reviews about Duane Dog Chapman’s book, You can Run but you Can’t Hide .  The acrobatic flea over at heropress is another, who’s words do poetic justice to the novel.  I think you’ll like this review of the book and give you an opportunity to decide on whether or not you want to take a chance and put this book on your reading list. If you’ve read the book… what did you think of it?

Want to know more about Dog?
2007-10-11 03:00:00
If you’re interested in finding out more about Duane “Dog” Chapman, when he’s not chasing criminals, you can find out what he does in his down time here.  It looks like he’s a lot like us, check out what he has to say: What Are You Listening To? It’s like a boxer before he gets into the ring. We do the same thing to get into the [right] state of mind. Mostly rock ‘n’ roll. Ozzy Osborne, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Doors. You know, older songs, because I’m an older guy. I load them on my [Oakley MP3] glasses. They hold 400 songs. I [also] use an iPod. I had no idea those Oakley glasses he wears all the time were also an MP3 player… learn something new every day! :)  If you read the rest of the article you’ll find out more about what Duane Dog Chapman likes to watch on TV (does he like reality TV?… hmmmm!… LOL) and also what he likes to read. It gives a little background on who Duane is, and a pe...
Review of Dog’s book… with a biblical twist
2007-10-10 02:58:00
Franklin Wood has a really good book review on Dog’s “You can run but you can’t hide”. It’s interesting how Franklin takes the review and relates it to biblical stories - I have to say, that if you’re looking for a little religion, you should check out his blog. If you’d like to see what he has to say about Dog’s book, you can check it out here.

Ron Martin and Dog swap Books
2007-09-09 05:48:00
How cool is this story… Ron Martin and Dog the Bounty Hunter swap books - and signatures. It’s a cool little story of a book signing and big lines… and the outcome might have been a purchase at Amazon, but instead Dog’s agent sees Ron and catches him before he leaves… Ron says it much better than I.

The Ottawa Citizen reports on Dog
2007-09-08 05:41:00
As Duane Dog Chapman makes his way across the country on his book tour, over at the Ottawa Citizen … it’s the “Sign of the Dog Star” where there are certain things set up before hand so the book signings can go as smoothly as possible. A bounty hunter sets the book signing rules: No personal notes, no boobs, no butts, no memorabilia, no chairs I think that’s totally understandable… I’d want to have a autograph/signature that has a little more longevity that if it were scrawled on my boobs. LOL. I don’t think I’d have the nerve to do that, but I’m sure there are plenty of women out there who’d love the chance to show a little cleavage to Dog and hope for an autograph. I also think that would be so very, very awkward if Beth was sitting there watching all that go down. Be on the safe side, read the quote… go get your book signed I do have to say I love what James MacGowan has to say about the book signing&h...

Email the Mexicans Thanks
2007-09-07 05:38:00
Over at Free Dog, there is an email reposted from another site, for us to thank the Mexicans for their releasing Duane, Tim and Leland. Check out the post It never hurts to show your appreciation. Tell Emilio just how you feel - keep it polite, keep it clean. They’re working in the justice system (which sometimes is a little messed up). They freed Duane, it might be time to say “thanks”.

Dogg VS. Meth Heads
2007-09-05 05:31:00
Over at the SherDog forums, someone has taken their bitter pill (he goes by Doubled3) and decided to slam Dog and the Crew. It’s bound to happen. But I have to admit, it might not have been a very stellar moment for Dog the Bounty Hunter - but it was filmed… and shown. There isn’t any beauty to bounty hunting. It’s not an easy job. They’re bound to have bad days. Here’s the video in question: What do you think?

… now they need more time
2007-08-27 16:15:00
Over at Time s Square Gossip it’s being reported (via TMZ) that Dog, Tim and Leland might end up having more of Mexico on their hands in the near future. They are saying, “Just when Duane “Dog” Chapman thought the Mexican nightmare was over, a US judge has put a halt to his freedom plans.” TMZ.com is reporting that a Mexican trial judge threw out all charges against Dog, Leland and Tim, but now the US Office of International Affairs has issued an order not to release the bond because they need more time to work on the case. When will this end??? Also reported was that the US Magistrate judge has told the Chapmans that they were out of luck (according to TMZ) the judge is reportedly “going on vacation through October” and won’t be able to resolve the issues for Dog and the crew until he is back. TMZ also reports just how “devestated” Dog and Beth are. “We love this country… and are proud Americans, so this is ab...

They’re out to get me!
2007-08-21 16:20:00
… who you might ask? … his family. Imagine that!  Duane is reeling once again against accusation that some family members have pushed into the spotlight.  You might remember the whole Christopher Chapman statement to the National Enquirer.  I mean, it was the National Enquirer… not exactly the most upstanding paper out there by a long shot.  So I really didn’t believe it… and I have a hell of a time believing it now. In fact I don’t believe it - but over at the National Ledger - take a look at what’s happening now.  It’s so sad.  If it’s true. “I don’t understand this,” Dog told The Enquirer in an exclusive interview published this week.  “Everyone is jumping on the ‘hate Dog’ bandwagon. “They’re all lying.  I’ve made a lot of enemies in my life, and I’m sorry I’ve done that.  I guess if one person comes after you, they all come after you.” Now f...
After Mexico… Dog stays closer to home
2007-08-20 19:56:00
After all the brew-ha-ha over the Mexican extradition and all that crap that went along with the arrest of Luster. I’m glad to hear that Duane Dog Chapman has decided to stay in the bounty hunting business, but stay close to home - stick to the US. Over at Fox News, they’re reporting that Duane is going to be focusing on criminals who are violent against women and children. I’m so impressed with Duane, because I think that sort of thing is far harder to deal with over drug possession or petty theft. It gets personal. You have to have a pretty hard mindset just to get through it. But if anyone can go after those horrid types of criminals - then it would definitely be Duane Chapman and the crew at Da Kine Bail Bonds.

Dog Book Signing at Ann Arbour
2007-08-19 17:15:00
Ann Arbour news reports on Duane Chapman’s book signing, where hundreds of fans flooded into the Borders Book store for a chance to see and listen to, Duane Dog Chapman. Remember Jackie and her close encounter with Dog! Hundreds of people flooded the downtown Ann Arbor Borders Friday evening to get a look at Duane “Dog” Chapman - perhaps the world’s most famous bounty hunter. He was in town signing his book, “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide: The Life and Times of Dog the Bounty Hunter.” His story of redemption is part of what has given him rock star status. That and a TV show - “Dog The Bounty Hunter” - on A&E. At 6:30 p.m., people packed into a corner of the book store to get a glimpse of Chapman 30 minutes before the signing began. Hundreds angled to get pictures of him, holding cell phones above their heads. I can only imagine the chaos at that store… I’m jealous of those fans who actually got viewing of Duane!...

Case goes towards appeals
2007-08-18 06:01:00
… I’m not sure this is so super groovy for Duane, Leland and Tim.  According to a report by the Washington Post it looks like Mexico is appealing the court decision that the statue of limitations had expired on the case against the three men. A Mexican judge has ruled to close the criminal case against bounty hunter and TV reality star Duane “Dog” Chapman, but state prosecutors have appealed the decision, officials said Thursday. In the July 27 ruling, Judge Jose Alberto Montes said the statute of limitations has expired on the case, said Guillermo Diaz, assistant prosecutor for the state of Jalisco, where Puerto Vallarta is located. They go on to report: State prosecutors, however, want to continue pursuing Mexico’s request to have Chapman extradited, Diaz said. The courts are expected to rule on prosecutors’ appeal in coming months. What a freakin’ emotional rollercoaster these men are on.  It’s not only them but their families.Â...

Dog Sighting

Jackie posted on her MySpace site that she met Dog the Bounty Hunter in Ann Arbor on August 10th!  How awesome is that Jackie - did you manage to get a photo of him with you?  Or was it a mob scene?  Would love to hear more - or even better post a photo if you got one!  What Jackie mentions about the run-in with Dog the Bounty Hunter: Dog the Bounty Hunter was at Border’s here in Ann Arbor last night and Jon loves that show, so for his birthday we braved the mob to get to meet him.  It was so hot in there from all the people, so we look rough in the pics, but hey…it’s still pretty cool and I am so hot and tired these days I don’t care how crappy I look. :)  I am ready to go home to the land of air conditioning!! I have to admit that would be a dream of mine, to actually meet Dog the Bounty Hunter - you are so lucky!!! Awesome
One of the best interviews yet
2007-08-15 17:36:00
On ABC in Australia I have to say that this is one of the best reviews of Duane Dog Chapman around. It’s in the promotion push for his book - You can Run but you Can’t Hide. Duane tells the reporter… “I come across sometimes as not the average bloke so this will help people understand me,” he told Reuters in an interview in a New York apartment. Earlier, he refused to step onto the rooftop of a 61-story building for a photo shoot due to his fear of heights. “It’s embarrassing for me to meet people with the past that I have had … I didn’t have to become a criminal to become who I am today and I wish that part of my life could be erased.” Duane Dog Chapman just comes across as so humble and down to earth - I totally enjoyed reading this article, it does give a little insight into the man who became Dog the Bounty Hunter. It gives a bit of a background on Duane Chapman, his life, his work, the new book. I’d like to ...

Confusion about Baby Lyssa’s MySpace
2007-08-14 05:36:00
Seems I made a boo-boo and thanks to those of you out there who wrote in to let me know.  It did seem a bit odd (now that I look at it) that her age was in the 50’s… I had thought it was that way because she didn’t really want to be found, and the blurry-ish photo… you know just not to be “identified” persey. But it appears that this may be infact her mom’s MySpace page - she shares the same name with her mom.  So there you go. I was given this address: Is this Baby Lyssa on MySpace? Maybe I’m jaded… but the whole “roleplay” on the site makes me think it’s just a fan putting up a site on Baby Lyssa… could be wrong.  Maybe I’m a little jaded What do you think?
