Mary Ida Vandross, the mother of late R&B legend Luther Vandross, died last week of natural causes. She was 82. Mrs. Vandross outlived her husband, all four of her children, as well as her only grandson. All died as a result of stroke or diabetes. Per a bio posted on the American Stroke Association website, Mary Ida Vandross was born in Cheraw, South Carolina, as the second child of three. The bio goes on to say ... She attended high school in Cheraw but spent most of her young life in Marion, South Carolina. While in high school, she spent her summers in Brooklyn, New York with her aunt. She worked as a mother?s helper. She always liked nice clothes and shoes so she saved her money and bought her own school clothes. In a letter to his fans Tyler Perry said he was being stalked.I'm trying to be careful how I say this without inciting this person, but I have a stalker. This person sends several hundred emails a day to my office and has planned our wedding and bought rings and such. She has showed up at my house several times. What's crazy is I've never met this woman nor have I even responded to her emails. I've had to increase the guards at my house as well as travel with body guards and I hate that. Gary Dourdan, the smoldering actor who plays investigator Warrick Brown on CSI, has decided to leave the eight-year-old drama. According to an insider, the decision was a mutual one made by the actor and CBS/Paramount, the studio that produces the procedural drama for CBS. CBS/Paramount would not confirm the date of Dourdan's last episode, though it will likely occur in the next month since the actor's contract expires this season. The insider says there's a chance that Dourdan, one of a handful of African-American men in leading, primetime roles, will reprise his role with occasional guest appearances in coming seasons.Every time I see this dude. I think about his roles as Shaza on A Different World. He had the whole dread thing going and the african garb. And on top of all that, he loved him some Freddie Brooks. Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick has insisted he will hold firm in his position as the head of government of this British Overseas Territory in the face of allegations that he sexually assaulted an American woman. The woman claimed that Mr Misick, who is married to American actress, LisaRaye McCoy-Misick, assaulted her two weekends ago. "Let me be clear - I will continue my duties as Premier. We have a lot yet to accomplish," he told the nation in an official televised statement.
