Here Comes The Bride...

It's wedding season! And I have 2 weddings back to back weekends... tonight in Miami, next weekend in Colombia.Celebrating love is great and all, but when you're single and stag, the wedding thing can be a bit of a drag. Thankfully, I can use it as an excuse to play dress-up and don some pretty serious make-up.Both weddings are black tie... tonight I'll be wearing a gorgeous 3/4 length white chiffon with a black silk bust Behnaz Sarafpour flapper-esque dress with black patent peep-toe heels.I'm thinking a simple eye - black liner and mascara, a cat eye of sorts - and crimson red lips (MAC's Russian Red from the Originals Collection). Ugh, but red is SUCH a commitment! There's nothing worse then a bleeding lip or lipstick-stained teeth. For the face, ivory powder for flawless skin, a hint of Nars' Outlaw and defined brows. That's about it.I'll let you know how it goes. Of course, I'll be drinking it up at the singles table.

I was a lucky guest at the Silver Spoon winter gift-giveaway... and WOW did I walk away with some incredible beauty products!The gifting suites were held at Voda Spa (read my post on the fabulous Russian bath house HERE) and such savvy brands like Stila Cosmetics, Ted Gibson, Frilly Lilly, La Fleur, Weleda, and The Face Shop, were in attendance.I have to play around with the products but I can tell that I'm going to LOVE the Weleda Wild Rose Moisturizing Cream (I'm already such a fan of the Weleda Calendula Cream), Stila Smokey Eye Palette that actually speaks to you, and The Face Shop Volcanic Ash Heating Mask (from Korea... the entire line looks absolutely incredible!).Lots of goodies... it feels like Christmas all over again! My lashes have never looked longer, thicker, healthier and happier!Fresh Supernova Black Magic Mascara is my new favorite! Not only does it lengthen and thicken, it conditions too! New Years holiday was a blast. I would have posted sooner but I've been recuperating. I spent five days in Florida with my dear friend Kimberly Stewart. We started off the trip in Palm Beach where I hung out and beauty shopped with hair-crazed Jenny. Then we ventured to Miami for the big New Years Eve bash (and stayed for about 24 hours). I returned back to Los Angeles on the 1st and it has literally rained every day since!Florida left my skin very tan and my hair very blonde. I used spf 30 on my face and pranced around in a straw hat and yet I still came home with blotchy dark spots from the sun!!! I have decided to up the spf to a 40 for my next tanning adventure!As far as make-up is concerned, while lounging poolside, less is more. My advice: invest in a great sunblock, a hydrating lippy with a dash of color, a black mascara, a fun hat and a kick-ass pair of shades (mine are vintage gold... love them!)I kept my beauty routine very very simple. It's really cold... at least in L.A... random, I know, considering that Los Angeles isn't supposed to get cold!Anyway, my skin is wilting... literally, drying up by the seconds. So, last night I decided to try a new product that I had received. Moisturizing and Conditioning Socks and Gloves... woke up this morning feeling a little less pruney.Spa Sensials Intensive one-step Moisturizing and Conditioning Socks & Gloves are quick, easy and disposable. Just slide on the socks and gloves, chill for at least 15 minutes (watch TV, get a massage, etc.), then take them off and rub the remaining cream into skin (and chuck the old socks and gloves into the trash).I suppose you could do this yourself with products from home... a shea butter lotion, a pare of socks and some mittens (or socks for your hands as well)... because in effect, what is really happening is that the sock is trapping the heat, thus creating a sauna-type effect on your feet and hands.
