Rocky Balboa
2007-06-13 14:04:00 I couldn’t sleep last night, so I downloaded Rocky Balboa, the sixth and according to Sly Stallone, the final Rocky movie. I have seen all the Rocky movies several times over the years. I am a fan. I was actually surprised with the movie. Rocky Balboa is no action movie. Stallone does an excellent job at portraying a softer, more vulnerable Rocky. The years seem to have changed Rocky. He is now a widower, mourning the loss of his beloved soul mate, Adrian. He is estranged from his son, who has issues living in the shadows of his famous father. Rocky owns his own restaurant, where he greets all his customers, and tells stories of past fights. A computer simulated, fight between Rocky and the current reigning heavyweight champion of the world, Mason Dixon, is shown on TV, showing Rocky as the victor, Rocky, and the media start to think about the real thing. Overall a great movie. And a fitting end to the saga of Rocky Balboa.
Father’s Day
2007-06-13 04:33:00 Father’s Day is on Sunday. My dad is lucky. His Birthday falls on June 19th, so when the family gets together on Father’s Day we also celebrate dad’s Birthday. Depending on the year dad’s Birthday sometimes falls on Father’s Day. I always use this special day to thank my dad for all that he has done for me over the years. He is a special man is so many ways. He is caring, generous, and fun to be around. Not only do we look alike. Some of my best characteristics I inherited from my dad, or they were branded into me from some of the values that dad believes in. My parents divorced when I was 15 years old. Myself, along with my two younger sisters stayed with my dad. And he raised us on his own through the toughest part of any young person’s life. The teenage years. I have always highly respected my dad very much for sticking by me, although I don’t think I was really that bad of a teenager. My dad has worked hard most of his life. Well raisin... Book Review: Heartstone by Phillip Margolin
2007-06-02 23:58:00 They were young, popular, the perfect couple, an all-American boy and a beautiful cheerleader. But the youthful passion that led them to Lookout Point that terrible evening would prove fatal. For Richie Walters the end came swiftly, as death descended upon him in a savage orgy of horrific violence. Elaine Murray would live long enough to learn just how lucky her boyfriend had been. Two brutal slayings have rocked a stunned city. But the murders are merely the nightmare's beginning, flinging open a terrifying Pandora's box of sordid secrets and dark revelations more deadly than the bloodlust that lives in the rock-hard heart of a killer. Book Review: Reliquary by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child (Pendergast Serie
2007-05-26 17:20:00 I loved this book. Reliquary is the second in what is sometimes called The Relic Series, or The Pendergast Series. This is a police mystery, but it has aspects of horror, and suspense in it. I could not put it down. There were so many different stories within the book. It also made you feel different emotions. It focussed alot on the homeless people at times, which made me feel sad, and sorry for these people. I really enjoyed the characters, and thought F.B.I agent Pendergast, Lieutenant D'Agosta, and Margo all worked together well. D'Agosta added some humor to the book at times! He always seemed to have a problem finding a match for that cigar of his. More About: Lincoln , Book Review , Review , Book , Child
