Azeroth Journal [Feburary 2008 Issue; Volume 2]
2008-02-19 06:28:00
New Breakthroughs…Sort of. Note: I started writing this post on Saturday, but things have drastically changed since then, so I’m going to keep the original writing as much as possible, and striking them out with the new occurrences. I finally got enough honor points to get my Gladiator’s Dreadweave Robe for my Warlock! I also found my Shattrath Jumpers (Thanks, Mitch!) in the bank and tossed some gems on it. I still have my Imbued Netherweave Boots, just in case… As for my chances of getting into Karazhan–or any Burning Crusade raid instance before Wrath of the Lich King comes out–it may come true! I was approached by a Guild Officer, asking me if I had any experiences in raids and how my gear was. When I did Gruul’s Lair, I had more Green than Blue Gear, now with the addition of the Dreadweave Robe, I now have three Purple gear, and two Greens left. With my new gear, I have 464 Spell Dmg, un-buffed. With buffs, it’s 717. I may be able...

Talk About an Epic Hamburger?
2008-02-17 06:08:00
Behold! The Mega Mac! It’s a “Bigger” version of MacDonald’s Famous “Big Mac” Sandwiches–and it’s only available in Japan . Looking at this makes me hungry. Eating this would probably make you full for a few days! Don’t think that it will be coming to the US, or anywhere else soon. I can just see all the lawsuits… If you want to try it out, it’s really four Big Mac burgers in one. If you have enough cash to spare, just order them and remove the bread from the other three and stack them on the fourth Big Mac, and there you have it! Your very own Mega Mac! I have thought about trying it, but I’m watching my weight… Copyright © 2007-2008This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only. The use of this feed on other websites violates copyright law. CEN.TAKU.ME 7th Month Anniversary - 700 EC Giveaway!
2008-02-15 07:00:00
February 16th marks the 7th month anniversary since the launch of CEN.TAKU.ME in July 2007. This blog originally started as a progress journal for my characters on Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft on Blogspot–aka Blogger. Later, I created another blog for Anime and Manga, which didn’t take off very well since I was focusing on WoW. Thanks to the birth of “CEN.TAKU.ME”, I can focus on all three subjects: Anime, Manga, and Gaming, at once! Since then, the blog has received traffic from search engines like Google and Yahoo, links to this blog from my old ones, and help from MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog. In December 2007, after a month and a half hiatus, I signed up for Entrecard, which boosted daily traffic to 140-160 visits a day! A huge difference from the original 20-40 the first few months after I purchased the domain. I would like to thank those who have dropped by CEN.TAKU.ME via Entrecard and took interest and time in reading! I think a contest is in...

[Preview] L: Change the WorLd Trailer
2008-02-15 02:36:00
The latest installment in the Live Action Death Note movie franchise was released on February 9th, entitled “L, Change the WorLd”. It is the long awaited spin-off featuring the world famous detective, L. Kenichi Matsuyama, who played L in the first two Death Note movies, reprises his role as the mysterious detective. The movie takes place in Los Angeles during L/Ryuuzaki’s “crucial days”. I’m not sure if that’s before or after the start of the Kira case. I’m not going to explain as I may spoil it for some people. I have yet to witness the last few chapters of the manga or last few episodes of the anime, but this movie should be safe for those who have read through half of the series, leading up to the second part of the story a few years after the start of the Kira case. 100 Yen Coin: Found!
2008-02-14 18:03:00
This is a real 100 Yen Coin ! I didn’t even have to go to Japan to get it! It was mistaken for a Quarter when someone handed it to me for change when I made a purchase somewhere. I think it could have been at an Asian gift shop that I frequent every couple of months. It was about a year ago when I found this. When I showed it to my mother, she was upset about it because I was cheated out of $.25 USD. To me, it’s not a big loss; it’s worth more than that, especially since 100? equals $1 USD. It must be a sign that I will finally be able to go to Japan in future. I don’t think I would want to give this away, even if I spend it somewhere in Japan. ^_^ Copyright © 2007-2008This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only. CEN.TAKU.ME Cosplay Corner
2008-02-12 12:40:00
Excited about the upcoming convention season, I’m working on a few projects for my Naruto cosplay. I wanted to go as Iruka at AWA ‘07, but I couldn’t make it. Fortunately, this gave me an opportunity to work on an add-on for my costume… I made this from a tutorial I found on Cosplay .com on making Shinobi sandals the ninjas wear on Naruto! The tape doesn’t stick very well. Maybe I used the wrong kind of tape. When I asked for Hockey Tape, they didn’t know what I was talking about (Eh, I guess Hockey isn’t very big in the South). They did refer me to the tape used for Tennis Rackets, which looks like the one used in the tutorial. I finished this a week ago, and it only took 25 minutes! Hopefully it will set in after time. I don’t know who I’ll be cosplaying as at JAMPcon. I really want to do Iruka-sensei and Rukia Kuchiki. Wow…Two popular anime series = alot of photo opportunities. Speaking of Photo-Ops, I need a better...

Don?t Feed The Hand That Bites You?
2008-02-11 14:02:00
Since I started playing MMORPGs, I have always played the role of the Healer. I did have a few jobs that require direct contact, but I wanted a challenge. That changed when I started playing World of Warcraft . I’ve been playing the role of a Warlock for a year now. Actually, the very first character I rolled was a Human Warrior. After hooking up with friends I met in Final Fantasy XI, I re-rolled Horde and made an Undead Warrior. After some coaching from a good friend of mine, I retired Warrior after 10 levels (20 levels as a Human before re-rolling)…and rolled an Undead Warlock, which I traded later for a Blood Elf when Burning Crusade was released. Well, that’s enough of how I started playing the Warlock class. This is about treating those who are helping you [and the group]. I’ve been running around healing people for a few years. All this time helping others and I never get anything in return, except for the times when I get reimbursed for tele-porting an...

T.M. Revolution Returns to the US!
2008-02-08 07:41:00
North American TMR fans rejoice! T.M. Revolution , aka Takanori Nishikawa–or “Takanori Makes Revolution”, will be preforming at the New York Comic-Con, April 18-20, 2008. This marks TMR third concert in the US, after preforming at Otakon and Pacific Media Expo a few years ago. This is also the first event that’s multi-fandom–including American comic books. Since T.M. Revolution is coming back, I wonder if L’Arc~En~Ciel will return with US concerts… I wish I could go, especially since opening day falls on my birthday! :( For those who don’t know who Takanori Nishikawa/T.M. Revolution is, he released hits such as “Heart of Sword” for the third ending theme of Ruroni Kenshin in 1996. Later he released two singles for the Gundam Seed series, “Invoke” and “Ignited”. He also did part-time Seiyuu work in Gundam Seed as a minor character. Good luck to Nishikawa-san on his third concert! [Source: Anime News Ne...

Duke Nukem: Forever?Near?
2008-02-07 10:35:00
Wow…this game has been in “development” for a decade! What are they waiting for?! We have three powerful game consoles that are pwning the competition, and the developers don’t seem to be getting off their rears to finish it and put it on store shelfs. The game I’m talking about is Duke Nukem. Ironically, “Forever ” is the title for the next DN game in the series. A newspaper in Dallas reported that it’s set for a release later this year. NOT! George Broussard, the President of 3D Realms gave the “when it’s done” attitude for Duke Nukem Forever. If it doesn’t get released this year, it looks like we’ll have to wait forever…again. I personally have not played a Duke Nukem game. I do remember the reputation is received for being one of the most controversial video games, next to Mortal Kombat. If [it ever] gets a decent release, I may pick it up.. [Source: Slashdot] Copyright © 2007-2008This feed i...

Anime at Large: The Manga Edition
2008-02-06 11:38:00
Anime at Large ” is a series I made of anime that I have watched or really need to watch, but I have a hard time (re)locating them. I post about individual series whenever I can’t see to find it or it came up on my mind. There are more anime that I need to start/finish watching–if only I could get my hands on it. I’m taking a break from anime for a moment, and focus my sights on Manga . There are a few manga that I’m looking for–some of them happen to have an anime adaption (don’t they all?). There’s a few to mention at the moment, since I’m pretty much caught up on current series, but one… Gintama Gintama is the first on my list of manga to read–and an anime of it to watch. I said that this was going to be a manga edition of the series (Anime at Large, the very post in the series you’re reading right now), but I had to bring this up. I was interested in the anime at first, but finding fansubs of the se...

Ni-Ongaku Spotlight: Shing02?s ?Ultimate High?
2008-02-04 05:11:00
In the latest Ni-Ongaku Spotlight , we take a look at this video of Shing02’s “Ultimate High ”. Shing02 is a Japanese indie Hip-Hop artist. I discovered this artists on an acquaintance MySpace profile. It all started with the song, “miditation”. After hearing a few more of his songs, I bookmarked Shing02’s MySpace profile for updates on his next projects. “Ultimate High” is the only music video of Shing02’s works. I wish they made a video of “miditation”. This is one artist you can’t pass up. Shing02’s MySpace has more songs, including a collaboration with Ghostface Killah. [Video] Cursors Found in the ?SquareEnix? Folder
2008-02-02 21:27:00
While I was browsing around for unnecessary files on my 88% full hard drive on my Desktop using WinDirStat, I found the ‘SquareEnix’ folder was still there, though I uninstalled it back in the Spring, since it was decided that I wasn’t going to play it anymore since WoW is the frequently used MMORPG on my computer. It’s taking up 500 MB…I need as much space as possible. I want to delete this folder…but, wait. What’s in it? It’s mouse cursors used in Final Fantasy X I! I can’t let this go to waste…so what do I do with them? Use them! This is a nice little present for three years of being a loyal player… [-Please see full post for video-] For those who can’t see the video for some reason, here’s what I did: Navigate to the PlayOnline folder (C:Program FilesPlayOnlineSquareEnix). We’re going to use the cursor, “mousecur.ani” for the defualt cursor. Go to the Control Panel under Start Men...

The CEN.TAKU.ME Manga Library
2008-02-02 05:58:00
Ever wanted to see what my manga collection was like? Well, here it is! I wanted to do this kind of post for a while, after watching a video created by Otaku Vlogger, Naruto is my Brother, on his impressive collection. Unfortunately, I do not have a decent video cam for my own video, so I settled with a few pictures–along with an Excel spreadsheet of my growing library. Here are a few Before and After pictures, taken with my camera phone, of the collection I had before I moved in 2006, and the collection I have right now in 2008: Before In Between Before and After… After Wow! What an accomplishment! All of that could fit inside one 62 qt. box. If I were to move again anytime soon, I would need at least three boxes, plus and another bookshelf! Pardon the mess…See the difference in the second picture? That was taken in March ‘07, right after I put everything in place after moving out of my old, smaller room. In the third photo, I have alot of manga th...

Azeroth Journal [February 2008 Issue]
2008-02-01 06:13:00
Return of the Warlock January was very light for me and WoW. I logged on for the first time (other than getting honor points for my Warlock) a couple of weeks ago. I got an invite into my first guild after transferring to WildHammer, and ran Heroic Arcatraz with two outsiders–only to end up wiping a few times and disbanded right away. I was a little rusty with my macros in different places for PvP situations. I manage to re-arrange them before anyone [else] died. I guess it didn’t matter if I was distracted. So far, I like this guild. Many of the members are quiet, just like me, but they’re not like the last one I was in on Stormreaver… This server is very good–for PvE. The Alliance are terrible PvPers: they run whenever they see you–along with another Paladin and a Rogue. At least I won’t have to worry about many griefers. The only thing good about this server is PvE. The Shadowburn battlegroup for the Horde is doomed. What’s worse...

[Video] Byakuya Can Sing?!
2008-01-30 14:24:00
That’s right…Byakuya can sing! How is this possible?! It’s all about Bleach Soul Sonic. It’s a live, radio-style drama featuring the Seiyuu of Bleach. Many of the recordings are parodies of episodes, like this video featuring Byakuya and his Seiyuu, Ryotaro Okiayu, on the career of an Enka singer… A reminder to Byakuya fans girls: tomorrow is his birthday! Happy Birthday, Captain Kuchiki! ^_^ Copyright © 2007-2008This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only. The use of this feed on other websites violates copyright law. Hi, My Name is?
2008-01-29 07:18:00
L: I’m really depressed at the moment, because someone is trying to figure out what my real name is…I shouldn’t be eating this pie, then I’ll get fat. But it’s soooo good! I really should finish Death Note . I’ve mentioned it time and time again, that I suddenly lost interest in it. It’s mostly because of the turn of events going on in the chapter I’m on. The last time I read the manga, I was at the part where Near, aka “N”, was preparing to go to Japan to wrap of the Kira case. I was very close to that part in the anime. I don’t know what’s keeping me from reading it. I guess it’s because a certain character, or two, was no longer around. Now I should just go on and finish it soon. Everywhere I go, I see traces of spoilers. One in particular involves L/Ryuuzaki’s real name. I [accidentally] came across 4 choices of possible answers. They start with the letters, in order of appearance: Z, E, L, L. No...

The 2008 Anime Convention Season
2008-01-27 14:22:00
Image Credit: Cria-Cow January is coming to an end… That means it’s getting close to the start of the convention season! It seems there are more conventions this year than in recent years. One in particular that I’m excited about I will explain shortly. I’ve been attending anime conventions since 2003. The my first con was Anime Reactor. Then, I went to Anime Central in 2004. I’ve been to ACEN for three consecutive years, except last year, since I couldn’t afford it and it was a day’s drive away since we relocated in Tennessee. I also expect to Cosplay more this year. I have a few ideas for characters, such as the long desire to dress as Iruka from Naruto, but there are many more choices this year. This is a small list of conventions I may attend this year. I should note that the conventions covered in this post are held in the Southeastern region of the US. For those who are looking for convention near you, there is a way to find out at the...

Starcraft, Now Mario Kart DS
2008-01-27 09:03:00
A recent story on Siliconera, via Kotaku, caught my attention on the level of popularity that Mario Kart DS is getting in South Korea. How big is it? It’s “Starcraft ” popular. That’s right–Mario Kart gets the progamer treatment, and is now the next big thing in the Korean progaming circuit. This game hasn’t even been out for a full year! South Korea is the mecca of competitive gaming. Just about every game with the proper multi-player settings, turns into a huge success. I am very fascinated by these turn of events. After watching several Starcraft competitions on YouTube, and a couple of mashups, that I mark Korea the next country to visit when I get the chance to go overseas! Korea + one country devoted to gaming + Japan + one country devoted to anime = a very exhausted fangirl. :3 Fighting! [Review] Bleach: The Blade of Fate
2008-01-24 21:52:00
Name: Bleach : The Blade of Fate Release Date: October 2007 Rating: Teen Developer: Treasure Publisher: Sega Platform: Nintendo DS Overview “The Blade of Fate” is the first Nintendo DS game based on the popular anime series, Bleach. Thanks to the rising popularity of the franchise in the US, we got a chance to get a hands-on experience of the US release of “The Blade of Fate”. For those who are not familiar with Bleach (Warning: This contains small spoilers!), the story centers around a 15 year old boy, Ichigo Kurosaki, who can see ghosts. One day, he meets a Shinigami (or “Soul Reaper” in the English dub), Rukia Kuchiki. Both Ichigo and Rukia team up to fight Hollows (”undead” fiends), keeping the world of the living safe from harm. Rukia hails from Soul Society, a place where deceased people go as their final resting place. It is neither Heaven or Hell. One day, Rukia is forced to return to the Soul Society, by her adoptive brother, B...

Azeroth and Outland Journey of 2007 Recap: Part 3
2008-01-22 18:57:00
Here is the final installment of the Azeroth and Outland Journey of 2007 Recap . If you read the previous parts, then I thank you for coming this far. I really had alot of fun playing the Warlock class. Now that it’s 2008, I would like to focus on what I couldn’t do in 2007. Blizzard made it easier for late bloomers to get the Season One Arena Set, and Heroics can now be done sooner being Honored, rather than being Revered. Leveling is faster than before, since Patch 2.3. I will have another Level 70 very soon and I would like to play other classes to the limit before Wrath of the Lich King. Without further ado, I present the final chapters of my journey in Outland. The Aftermath After hitting level 70, I didn’t do much updating as I attempted to get attuned for Karazhan and the lack of party members to run the instance. Many players we asked only wanted to do Heroic and gave the cold shoulder to the normal instance. There was no one who were willing to use their...

Anime at Large: Excel Saga
2008-01-22 00:42:00
Another anime I need to watch is Excel Saga . Arguably the best anime next to FLCL, with its irrelevant and obscene scenarios. I got into Excel Saga at Anime Central in 2004 after seeing so many Nabeshin cosplayers, and since Nabeshin (Shinichi Watanabe?not to be confused with Shinichiro Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop) himself was the Guest of Honor at ACEN ‘04?though I didn’t get a chance to meet him since we were there for one day. :( I do own a few DVD of the series?Volumes 1, 4, and 5. I found DVDs 4 and 5 on clearance at a comic book store I used to frequent in Calumet City, IL before I moved to Tennessee. So far I have watched three episodes, but I refuse to watch more of it until I get volume two, or the whole series. ADV released a Thinpak of the whole series a while back, but I don’t want to buy it right now. Amazon.com has very few of the individual DVDs left?for $25 a pop. ADV…What did we do to you? That’s too high for a series like this! Sure, hard...

For those who have been seeing odd things on the blog lately can now rest easy. Since I relaunched the blog a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been doing alot of cosmetic changes, like the new e-mail subscription form and the removal of the BlogRush widget (Finally!). Some words are different. Some images are different. As I promised, a new contact form has been added! It’s been online for sometime now, but I thought I bring that to attention. Now you can submit Blogroll requests and such. I also updated the Comment Policy, reflecting the “U Follow/I Follow” efforts. Now websites left in comments will be free for search engine spiders to crawl. ;) Speaking of different images…For those who keep seeing a picture of Sakura saying “OMG YOU’RE HOTLINKING?!”–I apologize for the inconvenience. I noticed a few occurrences of hotlinking from my site back to theirs. It seems that people thought this was ImageShack. While I was linking to my imag...

Ni-Ongaku Spotlight: Morning Musume?s ?Love MACHINE?
2008-01-21 03:22:00
Here’s a very, very catchy song by the all-girl J-Pop group, Morning Musume, “Love MACHINE”. I first heard this song covered by SWEK, a band who performs songs from various Anime and Japanese groups, at Anime Central in 2005. From the sound of it, I thought it was a song from the Cowboy Bebop OST I never heard before… Long after the concert, I forgot all about the song, until I read Patrick Macias’ “Cruising the Anime City” about Morning Musume’s popularity among middle aged men in Japan. I decided to check out a couple of their songs, until I found the song I heard SWEK performed. Copyright © 2007-2008This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only. Oh?Mabinogi?Goodness!
2008-01-20 02:26:00
Nexon has announced a closed beta of Mabinogi for North American subscribers. Mabinogi is a Harvest Moon-style MMORPG, where you can work on tradeskills and such…Just like in Harvest Moon! It is possible to fight monsters in the game to level up, so there’s no need to be turned off by the *main* objective. I vaguely remember hearing about this game a few years back. Though, I could have been thinking about Yogurting (which is over due for a NA release, I hope). I’m a fan of Harvest Moon, so I might sign up for the beta, but I don’t know where to play it. My laptop…but I have no room to use my mouse. My desktop… but I have only 4 GB left. Something’s gonna have to go! Note: There’s a trailer embedded below that plays automatically, so it’s cut off with the “more” tag to prevent any disturbances. ^_^; [Source: Kotaku] Copyright © 2007-2008This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only. Here is a video on I found on YouTube via reddit of Calimist, an In The Groove player scoring 92% on “Uber Rave”, with the 1.2x speed modifier. This guy is so amazing, he could be the next Yasu! This is my favorite video where an Unreal Tournament player cusses his computer out for slow loading times. Do not watch this if you have a full bladder! Here’s a video from a few of years ago of a kid arguing with his mother for a cup of chocolate milk–and the argument is being broadcast over the channel. It’s my favorite video next to the AGK video. A friend showed me this PvP video of a Human Paladin, Khorazi, of the Dethecus realm, with a full Retribution build. Watching this video inspires me to improve my PvP skills (before and) when my Paladin gets to level 70. The only thing bothers me about this video is that he’s Alliance&#...
