Matthew Shepard Part 2
2007-07-12 07:39:00 I recently attended a meeting of mostly gay men and the topic of the Matthew Shephard act came up and how more needs to be done regarding this and how we all need to get active in telling our senators how we feel. It made it even more clear when I heard the following story: It seems that a gentlemen by the name of Aaron "Shorty" Hall was a victim of a hate crime and as usual the men who did this horrible crime claim that Aaron made the pass at them. What happpened next truly shocked me and I am writing it out so you can see why we need to stop allowing the GLBT community to be treated like second class citizens! These two men began beating Aaron for several hours before they dragged the body down the stairs - beat him some more - threw his body on a pickup truck and continued to beat him as they drove down a remore dirt road. They took a picture of the body via the cell phone and sent it to a friend - nice touch huh? They dumped his naked body in a ditch and according to weath... More About: Gay News , Part , Shepard
Politics vs. Science
2007-07-11 07:34:00 I was driving home from work today and listening to NPR's "All Things Considered" (what else, right?) when I heard this story that made me stop yelling at the asshole, in the Toyota with the Jesus fish on the back, and turn up the volume. It seems that, today, Ex-Surgeon General Richard H Carmona appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and openly accused the Bush administration of blatantly ignoring science and medicine for the sake of politics. I know, shocker. During his testimony,Dr.Carmona, who was Bush's Surgeon General from 2002 to 2006, stated that administration officials regularly edited and supressed the content of his speeches;watered down reports on stem cells, contraception, sex education, the effects of secondhand smoke, etc; and encouraged him to promote political candidates, as well attend political briefings. My personal favorite was requiring that Dr.Carmona mention the President at least 3 times on every page of any speech he deliv... More About: Science , Politics , Poli , Politic

The FagBug is on the move
2007-07-09 00:40:00 On April 18, 2006 Erin Davies walked up to her car parked a few blocks from her house and saw that it had been vandalized. Spray painted in big red letters on the drivers side window of her car was the word "Fag". Worse still, the words "You R Gay" were spray pained across the hood. Davies, a 29 year old lesbian was upset and ashamed over this. When she contacted police they questioned her asking if she knew anyone who is holding a grudge against her. She however felt that this act was just a random act of hate. To this day police still have no leads on who may have done this. The amazing part of this story is what she decided to in response to the attack. Instead of cleaning the paint off her car she decided to leave it. Now she writes a blog at FagBug.com where she writes about what happened. She is currently on a cross country trip to different cities using the car as a tool to show people that hate crimes do in fact happen all the time. Now this story is a few months old but ... Jaded at the Movies: Ratatouille
2007-07-08 07:53:00 So I read this comment that Samantha left for me on one of my movie blogs; "Matty, do you live at the movies or something? Is Texas really that boring?" The answer: Yes, Samantha, it is that boring. Also, I'm just a cheap date. I don't like nightclubs, I hate dance music, and I refuse to pay 20 bucks for a drink. My idea of a fun night out is a moderately priced meal, some conversation, and a good movie. I know its boring to alot of gay guys out there. But I'm not trying to get laid, so I don't really care. Anyways, to further prove my point, here is my review of "Ratatouille ". I was actually a little hesitant to see this movie because I felt burned after watching that boring piece of shit, "The Incredibles", a couple of years ago. About the only good thing that I can say about THAT movie was that I got a really good 20 minute nap in the theater. But I figured I'd give "Ratatouille" a chance because I liked the previews and I LOVE Patton Oswalt, who plays the main rat, R... More About: Movies , Jaded , At The Movies , Jade
Bill Gates goes Gay
2007-07-07 06:38:00 Is Bill Gates going gay? Well according to recent press he is. Well not gay as in he will start sucking cock, but gay as in dropping millions into Planet Out, parent company of Gay.com and other properties like The Advocate and Out Magazine. Planet Out has not been doing so well over the years as sites like ManHunt and MySpace are kicking their digital ass. The $26.2 million life line is being funded through his private investment firm Cascade Investment LLC. But this leads me to my question, why? Is there something we don't know about Mr. Gates? --> story continued below....All one has to do is look at these sexy pictures from the 80's and wonder if this man has a straight bone in his body. I mean what straight man poses like that? Oh come on, I know you want to fuck Young Gates. I sure as hell would. "grrrrrr, you dirty programmer you, boot my hard drive baby."But as we all know Mr. Gates has a wife and kids, so most likely he is doing this for the pay off. But is Planet Out rea... Jaded at the Movies: Transformers
2007-07-04 23:33:00 Okay, so this morning, I rolled out of bed, put on some clothes, and went and saw Transformers . Now, I'm not going to give you a play by play of what it was all about, because I'm not a professional reviewer. But I will say that it was pretty damn AWESOME!!! This a pretty big compliment coming from me considering I usually treat anything from Michael Bay like kryptonite. If Armageddon and Pearl Harbor were any more shitty they would have left a skid mark on the fucking screen. But Transformers seems to be the anomily. Kind of like the full grown kid in a family of midgets. It was action packed, the special effects were ridiculously awesome, the writing was good without being over the top, and ,most importantly, Ben Affleck was nowhere in sight. In fact, the only real criticism I can really find for this movie was the rather blatant product placement throughout. According to this movie we live in a world where everyone drives GM and uses Nokia phones.Toyotas and Motorolas I can ... More About: Movies , Jaded , At The Movies , Jade
Jesus is Hot
2007-07-01 10:38:00 While talking about her jail time experience on Larry King Live this week, Paris Hilton claimed that she is now a changed woman and is no longer going to continue with the stupid, dumb whore “act” because she’s read the bible and has done a lot of self-examination. However, when Larry asked her what her favorite bible verses were, she seemed a little perplexed before finally deciding that she couldn’t choose just one. This, of course, is understandable. I mean, any one who's read the bible can tell you that the verses are like potatoe chips. You can't choose just one. I certainly couldn’t. Unfortunately, some nay-sayers and negative nellies, like Tristin, have twisted Paris’ indecision to mean that she is just talking out of her ass. These people have obviously never cracked a bible in their sad and pathetically sinful lives. I guess Tristin couldn’t find enough room for it on the bookshelf next to all his Danielle Steel novels. Anyways, I thought that maybe, since I, like Par... More About: Jesus , Jesu
MATTY IN MANHATTAN
2007-06-30 00:15:00 Well Gay Pride has come and gone and now I'm back in Dallas. God that sucks! Oh,well. C'est la vie, I guess. As long as I had some fun, thats all that matters; and boy did I ever! I'm so happy Tristin let me come stay with him and carted me around town. I don't think I've ever had a more enjoyable and exhausting vacation. Get this, I arrived in town at 3pm on saturday and left at noon on Wednesday and yet I somehow managed to see The Empire State Building, Times Square,China Town, The Pride Parade,Washington Square Park, a boat tour around Manhattan and surrounding islands, Central Park, The Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art,the Natural History Museum, and the all important shopping stop at H&M's flagship store on 5th Ave. We would have seen the Museum of Modern Art but when we got there we realized that it was closed on Tuesdays. I know...FUCK! Oh well, its probably for the best. After running around all weekend from one end of Manhattan to the other, we w... More About: Matty , Atta
