When something makes it onto Saturday Night Live it usually means it has finally gone mainstream and can now be considered 'cool'. The irony is that I got the impression from the lack of laughter that no one in the audience had seen There Will Be Blood , or No Country for Old Men... or even Juno. Not the funniest sketch ever but it deserved better than that frigid audience.

Hillary Continues to Demonize herself

Being North of the border we Canadians can’t help but get caught in the US Federal elections. They clog up our radios and TV networks and frankly they turn out to be more interesting Jerry Springer-wise than our own elections. The Republican side has not been very interesting. I laughed at the idea of transvestite in denial even trying to get elected, and just assumed McCain was going to be running from the get go. The democrats on the other hand, I was surprised to see John Edwards go. Not that I like him or anything, but he does remind me of a younger Bill Clinton with similar values. I think I meant that as a compliment. Hillary … oh Hillary…. She has made herself come off as extremely condescending and arrogant. Both these labels were misdirected at John Kerry in ‘04 and ruined his run (how many times did he have to mention he was in Vietnam?). Hillary however seems to be doing it to herself. She can now be called a hypocrite after attacking Obama’...

Human Intelligence is Retroverting

You’d think after we had satellite photography and the ability to forecast weather that the argument that ‘The Earth is flat’ would be over. Apparently not. This clip comes from an Iraqi TV network where a physicist is trying to have a serious debate with a ‘Researcher on Astronomy". Instead all you get is dogmatic belief purported as fact. My favourite argument is about seeing a boat on the horizon where he starts spouting off about the blurred distance. Well then… maybe he should try this experiment on a day with high visibility and not during a sandstorm. Apparently scientists have no idea how the eye works… but he is perfectly capable of explaining his idea of it. I usually don't let myself look at 'upcoming' video games is that it usually leads to disappointment. But the demos being shown so far are making 2008 look very good for the Xbox 360. Combine that with the price drop in Canada as of tomorrow (Xbox Elite for $449!)

While Vanity Fair featured some of the most talented actors and actresses of our age, this themed-folio just seems to emphasize Jessica Alba 's lack of ability to even act for a split second. Right off the bat I was a little worried to hear Bryan Tyler's score to Children of Dune (a great score, but it's not Indy's) which is like hearing Hanz Zimmer music in the trailer for Jaws. It also made me think of National Treasure. Sunshine(2007) Review

Danny Boyle's Sunshine came onto the scene being heralded as the next 2001 and the new Solaris. Even for the creative tour de force Danny Boyle, those are some downright ridiculous expectations to me. I came into seeing this movie having heard a number of mixed reviews. Sunshine is nothing less than a great film. How someone cannot at least enjoy this film on a human level is beyond me. I can only suppose naysayers of this film also have issue with the presupposition that our rock called Earth rotates and orbits around the Sun and not vice-versa?

Devil May Cry Needs to Install on PS3?!

From the reviews I have read the install time runs about 22 minutes on your PS3 while if you are running DMC4 on a Xbox 360 your install time is... zip.
