Strip Clubs hurt by high gas prices

Strip clubs in the Jacksonville, Florida area are feeling the pinch of the tanking economy. A recent story from Jacksonville?s NBC-TV affiliate tells the story:The rising prices of gas, food and travel are having a major effect on the adult entertainment industry on the First Coast.The typical lunch crowd at Sinsations has dwindled to just two guys and a couple of sandwiches. It's the same story at gentlemen's clubs all across the First Coast."People just don't have the money to go out, they don't have the money to buy a drink, they certainly don't have the money to spend on an entertainer," said the manager of Emperor's Gentlemen's Club Joe Serafini.Serafini says he has been forced to lay off staff, reduce prices and limit hours to turn a profit. Stripper sues club for letting her drive drunk

A stripper from Alabama is suing the strip club she worked for that allowed her to get drunk and subsequently leave work and get into a one-car accident. Patsy Hamaker's suit says part of her job as a dancer at The Furnace club in Birmingham involved encouraging customers to buy her alcoholic drinks.Managers at the strip club allowed her to leave work drunk on October 17th of last year. She wrecked her car, resulting in serious injury, according to the suit, filed Wednesday in Jefferson County Circuit Court. Hamaker seeks compensation for her injuries and additional money to punish the club. One of the clubs I used to work at in my tour of duty was called the Dollhouse . The club itself didn?t last long, staying in business for only about 5 years but it certainly was an interesting place to work. It was located on the outer edge of town and was refurbished from an old country western bar that had been popular with the hicks from the area for years. The Dollhouse was owned by two brothers, Tim and John and they were quite the characters themselves. Well spring has officially sprung here in my part of Canada. Temperatures this week rose well into the mid 20?s (Celsius, 70?s to 80?s in Fahrenheit) and the sun is shining. This is definitely my favourite time of year. There is just something about the clean fresh air, buds on the trees, fresh flowers blooming and sunshine that makes everything all that nicer. It almost makes the long hard winter worth it. Canadians probably more than any other appreciate spring and summer. People are in a good mood, they are nicer to each other and ya know so many beautiful days lie ahead. The chicks are already starting to wear less and less, god bless em and soon an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies will be available. I truly love it.
