2006-12-02 15:35:05 Online poker tells all relate to the speed at which an opponent bets. Before discussing online poker tells, it is important to understand the two ways a player can act in online poker when it is his turn. The most common way is to select one of the several buttons that appears on your screen when it is your turn to act. The other way is to pre-select your action using the act in turn buttons. For example, you can select check/fold or bet/raise before the action ever gets to you. When you use these act in turn buttons, your action will occur almost instantaneously when it is your turn.Lets look at some of the online poker tells you can find depending on how fast or slow your opponent acts. One note of caution when using these types of tells. If your opponent is playing two tables, a lot of these online poker tells do not work since the timing of his actions could be thrown off.A delay followed by a check often indicates weaknessMost opponents who wait a longer time than normal and th... Poker Tells Top-10
2006-12-02 15:35:05 Poker Tells Top-10What is a Poker Tell? A tell is any habit, behavior, or physical reaction, that gives other players more information about your hand. The following are tips supplied to PokerTop10 by the pros, and can apply against novice or advanced players. Remember, that in poker there are many contradictions and exceptions to the rule. Also, experienced pros will give out false tells to fool players.Watch the EyesThis is why many pros wear sunglasses or visors/caps when playing, they know that the eyes rarely lie. For eg. many players can't help but stare at big hole cards, so their length of time peeking is longer. Conversely, if a player is looking to steal the pot, he may look to his left to see if the remaining players, who haven't yet acted, have quickly glanced at their cards and are likely to fold. Another eg., a player may try to ask you questions about your hand, knowing that people rarely can "look someone straight in the eyes" while being dishonest.Facial Expressio... mtts or sng's?
2006-12-02 15:35:05 Well i know ive been slacking here.Sorry.Have been kinda busy trying to get other things done and havent had a chance to write anything.I will try to post everyday about how things are going on the table. The last couple weeks have not been good to me. After endless mtt's and just a few finishes in the money, and not very deep in the money i decidedto try my luck in some sit n goes. When i first started making money at poker.com it was from freerolls. After making a bit from those what i did was play some of those old $1 sng's (those were fun) and managed to make myself a few bucks and work on my game at the same time. After a month or so of that i moved up to the $2 sng's. Did pretty good in those and started playing the $5's.All the while i was still playing freerolls and making money there too. After a few wins in the mtt's i got away from the sng's.I did pretty good in mtt's for a long time and pretty much got away from sng's except to play the Donkey (dolphin) room once in a...
Doylesroom takes over Pamela Anderson Poker
2006-12-02 15:35:05 Pamelapoker.com, the signature poker room of former Baywatch star and global sex symbol Pamela Anderson , has closed. The closure comes just four months after its launch was announced during a staged wedding between herself and Doyle Brunson during the 2006 WSOP. Doylesroom has taken over operation of Pamelapoker.com.In her diary on her personal website pamelaanderson.com, Pamela wrote that her association with Pamelapoker.com had ended, that she has "nothing to do with it anymore." Likely referring to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA), Anderson added in the diary that it was "Too bad my poker site fell apart-too many rules in USA. No fun." About Doyle Brunson, Anderson said in her online diary, "Good luck to Doyle's Room. I love him. He is authentic to the game."She summed it up by saying, it was "fun while it lasted." Gamblers' Votes Made a Difference
2006-12-02 15:35:05 One of the problems inherent in being just one voice in 300 million is that it's easy to believe that individual votes do not matter. Not only do individual votes matter, but the mainstream has noticed that the voices and votes of gamblers may have had a crucial impact in a few key races in the recent mid-term elections. On Wednesday, Robert Novak of the Evans-Novak Political Report published his morning-after overview of the wave that washed many Republicans out of office. Here's his quick take on the unexpected defeat of Representative Jim Leach, (R-IA), who was the original author of the Congressional legislation that ultimately became the UIGEA:"Moderate Rep. Jim Leach (R-Iowa) had a gambling problem -- not to say that he gambled, but he was the driving force behind a bill that all but banned gambling over the Internet. He was the victim of the so-called "Green Velvet Revolution," a campaign by the Internet gambling industry and gamblers to defeat those who pushed the measure. ... 2006-12-02 15:35:05 Online Poker Glad Online Gambling Bill Archi tect Leach Vote d OutThu, Nov 9th, 2006 @ 12:00amThe world was not too surprised as Democrats took control of the US House of Representatives Tuesday night for the first time in more than 10 years and achieved a potential Senate majority. But there was one outcome online poker players were celebrating- Representative Jim Leach (64 years old) was removed from Congress power by Iowa voters Tuesday.Leach was the American politician who came up with the idea of outlawing the financial channels used to fund online gambling, which ultimately lead to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) that was signed into law October 13.During his re-election campaign, Leach called the Internet gambling legislation he originated one of his proudest accomplishments. Leach introduced HR 4411 promoting "protecting American families" and addressing a "national security concern."Republican Leach has served 30 years in Congress since he was f... More About: Online
WPBT and ESCARGOT: Two Seriously Fun Events
2006-12-02 15:35:05 I'm not sure exactly when, but at some point poker became more serious. Bucking poker's sobering trend, two upcoming events have built reputations for reveling in the joy of the game. During the second week of December, poker bloggers from around the country will descend on Las Vegas for the third annual World Poker Blogger Tour (WPBT) Winter Classic. Poker bloggers build powerful networks by linking with one another on the internet. The live WPBT events take those virtual linkages and forge lasting 'Brick & Mortar' friendships. The forging process, as witnessed during these events, involves lots of poker, drinking, discussion of craft, and teasing. And of course, the ultimate goal is to be able to remember enough of the weekend to yield a plethora of irreverent blog posts. While most tourists try to give this group a wide berth, professional players and writers including Howard Lederer, Barry Greenstein, and Michael Craig have spoken at past WBPT events. Phil Gordon ran a char... More About: Fun , Events , Event , Serious , Cargo
online Poker tells ( just for you Andy)
More articles from this author:2006-12-02 15:35:05 Several of the tells I have listed here are useful in both online and offline poker. However, since we lack the ability to read opponents physical expressions, these tells that are available to us become that much more important.First, let us define a tell. A tell is a habitual action by another player that gives you a clue as to what he is holding. In offline poker, a widening of the eyes is often a tell of a very strong hand. That is one reason you see so many poker players wearing sunglasses at the table. Its not because of the bright vegas lights. So what might we look for in the online game that will give us clues as to when our opponents are bluffing, have the nut hand, etc? Lets examine a few.Speed of PlayEvery online poker room has a set number of seconds that each player has to respond before he is declared either all-in or folded. Sometimes, due to internet issues, a player's actions will almost always be slow and laggy. However, often, the speed of play can be a good tell...
