Bobby Brown may be Too Broke to Get Out of Jail

TMZ has learned that Bobby Brown is still sitting behind bars at Norfolk County House of Corrections in Massachusetts because, “He can’t afford to pay his debt.” In an exclusive conversation with Brown’s attorney, Phaedra Parks, TMZ was told that the former New Edition member is scrambling to figure out a way to come up with the $19,100 he owes in back child support payments to Kim Ward, the mother of two of his children. “Mr. Brown is not financially able to make the payment to court,” said Parks, adding that she is currently making her “best effort” to work out some sort of deal with the court. When asked about the fortune he amassed during his days as a world famous musician, Parks replied, “He was an 80s icon, that was 20 years ago.”

Horizons, the Bahamian oceanfront estate in which Anna Nicole lived, was purchased back in October by South Carolina real estate mogul G. Ben Thompson for $950,000. TMZ has obtained an attorney’s letter written to Thompson and his son-in-law, S. Ford Shelley, which states that they have “a good and marketable title to that property… ” and there is, “a duly executed and stamped conveyance in your favour.” TMZ has learned Thompson and Shelly are currently interviewing brokerage firms worldwide — firms that are interested in winning the listing. In short, it appears Thompson and Shelly have a right to sell the property, which may have skyrocketed in value because of the incredible publicity surrounding the Smith saga. Sources say Stern himself believes the property is worth $10 mil.

Montblanc Steps Up Their Jewelry Line

Montblanc released their latest jewelry collection last week with a fancy party in Chamonix. Where else to celebrate ice but somewhere icy? The event, which was attended by a bunch of celebs including Naomi Watts, Lucy Liu and Dita Von Teese was held in an ice palace at the base of Mont Blanc. Montblanc’s first collection of silver jewelry for women, launched in 2005, did well and so Montblanc is stepping up the luxury with a diamond and gold jewelry collection. WWD reports that the jewelry will be priced around $500 for a basic gold ring to $20,000 for more ornate creations featuring diamonds. There are several different collections, 4810, Dame Blanche, Black and White Magic, and Secret Star which includes pieces with special compartments for engraved messages. At the launch event the company showcased a $3 million necklace with a 37-carat diamond. Some of the jewelry features the Montblanc diamond, the distinctive star-shaped cut which has been featured in Montblanc pens.

Arttops are a line of laptop computers from Cenio that have, as the name suggests, very artistic tops, which set them apart from the crowds of white, grey and black laptops out there. The art is designed by Dutch artist Selwyn Senatori, who put together a blue “King” arttop and a pink “Queen” design. The laptops, unlike some of the bejeweled cases we have seen in the past, are actually fairly good in the performance department with Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz processors and 1GB of DDR2 RAM and over 100GB HDD, though the screens are a little on the small size, at 15.4-in. for the “King” and 14.1-in. for the “Queen.” Only 100 of each will be build and they are set to retail for $2,986 (king) and $2,915 (queen).
