Fiddlin' with the Feed
2008-02-28 18:39:00 Hey guys, I went into Feed Burner and played with the feed a little to kind-of dress it up and so forth. I also changed it so that now it doesn't feed entire posts. I didn't realize I had it set to... Read More...

2008-02-28 03:31:00 Wow! That sucked ass. Not one of those chicks tonight sang worth a damn! Every, single one of them was off-key or just plain bad. The weird, Medusa-looking Elvira knock-off hit the right keys... Read More... More About: American Idol , Girls , American , Idol

Moment of Greed
2008-02-26 02:17:00 So, I was flipping through the 999 channels I have and I saw Moment of Truth on FOX.Now, if you have watched literally anything on FOX the past week or two, you have seen the commercial for this episode of Moment of Truth: it's the one with the strikingly bleached-blonde skank between whose teeth you could park a small jet. Nothing too unusual about that, I hate to admit (as an American - not as a skank), but according to the booming, disembodied voice-over, "Her answers will destroy her marriage!"Now, you would think that with a tagline like that, you wouldn't need to see the show, right? Yeah, it's like 2008; if you think that, then you probably think Britney Spears is that cute little Mouseketeer who is gonna grow up to be hot.But before I start throwing stones, let me just shut this window.I usually do eschew such blatantly controversial TV - honestly. I do not like getting worked-up over such obvious exploitation - unless it's porn. And much the way I feel about porn, I... More About: Greed
Data Entry Makes Money!
2008-02-25 23:19:00 You may have noticed that I have been playing around with the ads and ads networks here lately. Being a monetized blog, I have to try different things in order to find compensation for the time and effort I spend here, and doing that is really a job in and of itself! Truth be told, I should be making a lot more money than I am right now, but these operations are so time-consuming and tedious that I have simply been putting off doing it for a long time.I would like to be able to make money online without having to spend entire days just trying to figure out the best ways to do that! And I already know that I can - simply by typing. If it sounds like a scam or gimmick, then you are right to be wary. Most data-entry programs are nothing more than that. In fact, when I was younger, I spent $30 I did not have applying for one of these programs, only to receive a booklet telling me, basically, what data-entry is, how to type (the ad said, "IF YOU KNOW HOW TO TYPE!"), and blahblahblah,... Today
2008-02-25 21:47:00 Well, I am obviously back from the doctor's and there's nothing really new to report on the homefront here. I still have an entire house to clean and so forth, I am not going to talk about the Oscars (anymore), Paris and Britney managed to keep their collective panties on (it's still early on the West Coast, though), and I have some press releases I'll start cranking-out soon enough. On that note, Dark Horse sent me a MONSTROUS press release on all the toys Dark Horse Deluxe is set to release in 2008 and while it is very impressive (and I thank you all, truly), it is... MONSTROUS! I actually got it yesterday and when I started formatting it for posting, it turned out to be a major undertaking. I think I will break it into several posts throughout the week.DH's PRs are always a hassle for some reason. Half the attachments do not want to open, they are sent in PDF... just real work to repost them. Still, this one isn't as bad as some I've gotten, they just take a long time ... More About: Today
What'd I Tell You About the Oscars?
2008-02-25 21:19:00 The reviews are in and while I did not watch them for reasons I elaborated on yesterday, most of America apparently agreed with my prediction: the Oscars blew gopher. Most all of the reviews I've read say the show was boring and that Jon Stewart was the only "good" thing about it. If Jon Stewart is the only good thing about an event, then that event should probably be monitored for terrorist activity - or at least inducing mass suicide. In fact, if the Nielsen ratings are correct, last night's Oscars were the lowest-rated Academy Awards ever. It was down almost 15% from 2003's telecast, which held the record for the lowest ratings!Accordingly, Stewart may go down in the books as hosting two of the lowest-rated Academy Awards shows in history. However, The Daily Show host did win-over the critics, who were almost unanimous in their praise of the clever disguising of his true douchebaggery.A bunch of people and movies won a bunch of Oscars but, as I said before, we won't rememb...
Tomorrow
2008-02-25 05:42:00 Well, I had a few more things I could have gotten to today, but I got caught-up doing things around the house. Not even half as much as I'd have liked, but still a few things. I also worked behind the scenes here and there and on some of the other blogs.Tomorrow , I have to be at the doctor's early (pray for me that all goes well - or chant, burn incense, cross things, whatever) and should be back around here in the late morning/early afternoon. I am sure I'll be getting a few PRs here and there and Paris will show someone/everyone her fur - you know, typical Monday - so there will be some action (not half as much as Paris' fur'll prolly see, but still...). But I also have to literally clean this entire place from top to bottom, yet again, so that I can hopefully pass the inspection thing I so spectacularly failed a week back, so...Anyway, hope everyone's weekend was good and... you know. The Little Things
2008-02-24 21:46:00 Growing up, we had a cabinet on which the door had come off. One of the screws in one of the hinges had been stripped and it sagged to the side for a year or more before one day, the whole thing just completely came off!My mom, ever the enterprising housewife, could not overcome her ingrained sense of laziness, and instead of figuring out how to fix the thing, she simply put a little curtain rod across the top, threw a modified pillowcase atop it, and moved the cereals in there. I guess, the way she saw it, we kids were just going to rip the door off of it again, given time, so why bother? And if you have kids, maybe that's the way to go, but for the rest of us, we would much rather have a nice kitchen than a functional one (I'm the only single guy I know who bothers to cook, actually!). And if you follow this handy-dandy link, it will carry you to the ultimate cabinet hardware site. More About: Things
Attack of the Clones Coming to Theaters
2008-02-24 21:25:00 It turns out that George Lucas' all-CGI TV series, Attack of the Clones, will actually be a full-length motion picture, set for release on August 15th.We reported last year that Lucas was shopping the idea to execs as a TV show, but that it was not as ambitious a project as a live-action series. While I read the news about the movie a while back, I waited to post on it until I'd heard more because of the confusion. It turns out the movie is actually being released to kick-off the series, which will air on both TNT and Cartoon Network (both Turner stations) this fall. The events in the movie and series take place between those that occurred in Revenge of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. You can check out some preview-type features on the website. The live-action series is apparently in pre-production.© C Harris Lynn, 2008
The Oscars: Pffft!
2008-02-24 19:45:00 When I was a kid, the Academy Awards Show was a big-time, annual event. My folks would turn it on in the living room and we kids would usually watch it together in another room. Mom would warm-up the big popcorn machine and make about half a bag (that would be plenty for both rooms for the entire night - with much leftover). We would all root for the Best Actor/Actress and Best Film - generally one that we had actually seen in the theater that year and really enjoyed. I remember we saw Wargames, but I don't remember if it was nominated for anything. I recall standing outside through one showing for Raiders of the Lost Ark before we got to see it in a packed house - leaving a line behind us that stretched around the block (just like the one we sat in for two hours). I don't remember if it was nominated for anything.Last night, I watched Ordinary People, which won at least two Oscars in 1980 for Best Actor (Timothy Hutton - much-deserved, I freely admit!) and Best Director (Robe...
Digital Signage
2008-02-24 19:39:00 When I read the phrase, digital signage, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Maybe it is just another "buzzword" in this viral internet landscape of social network marketing, but once I checked out the page to which it links, I got it!Digital signage is, basically, video marketing. But unlike static commercials - those that present an offer, product, or service - that just plays over and over, it allows you to reach consumers with interactive information you can update on the fly. Pretty much anywhere there's a TV, you can display your message(s).But there is a lot more to it than that. If you have a business to promote, I highly suggest you follow the link above to learn more about this new marketing technology!
A Little Bit
2008-02-24 19:08:00 Obviously, I'm feeling a little bit better today... not much, so far, but somewhat.I actually woke up feeling much better than I did yesterday, but I woke up feeling like death warmed-over yesterday, so that's kind of like saying Britney looks better than she did at the VMA show. My tummy is still uber-upset, so I'm not running any marathons.I do have to go to the store, however. I sent someone up there for me yesterday, but she didn't get what she was supposed to, so I may be sick again tomorrow... everything changes for the better tomorrow, though. I will finally get this place cleaned-up and it will stay like that for more than an hour, plus I go to the doctor's to get my medicine for my neck. Which I haven't been able to take for several days anyway, because I was puking so much... and just generally feeling awful. No real agenda for this chilly Sunday, just going to blather about and get out some of these PRs that are clogging the mailbox.© C Harris Lynn, 2008
Britney Spears Allowed to See Kids
2008-02-24 18:15:00 Britney Spears was allowed to see her kids briefly Saturday. Both Britney and K-Fed agreed to some sort of settlement which allowed her to see her two children for a couple hours yesterday. According to lawyers, Britney Spears' father was key to the agreement, which will allow her to be a 'participant in their lives.'But I doubt she's going to be chauffeuring them to school or anything. Earlier reports on this indicated that Kevin Federline's primary concern was Brit-Brit's driving with the kids... or letting them drive her ("C'mon, Sean Preston! I'm too drive to drunk, y'all!")Further details on the settlement and reunion were not forthcoming at this time.© C Harris Lynn, 2008 More About: Britney Spears , Kids , Britney
The Flu
2008-02-24 00:15:00 I have the flu.I woke up puking. Actually, I woke up coughing my head off and I am not sure if I started puking because I was coughing so hard or if I was coughing so hard because I needed to puke. I have a fever, I have the chills, my head and nose are completely stopped-up, and I feel like total shit. So, I am sending someone to the store to grab me some medicine and then I am kicking the receiver off the hook, crawling beneath the covers, and sweating it out. And whining. And maybe puking some more.© C Harris Lynn, 2008
Fifty Flowers
2008-02-24 00:09:00 So you made it through VD - er, Valentine's Day - and you and your lady-friend are still together, huh? Well, that is good - do not think for a second that I am not happy for you! But, as well, do not think for a second that the gift-giving season is over!Maybe you can't afford the nice Christmas and Valentine's Day -level gifts for just any occasion, but that's what makes flowers such a wonderful option. Flowers are great for any occasion or event - and they do not have to be very expensive. You don't have to go for the well-arranged bouquet every time - get creative! - why not send a romantic poem or card in a beautiful envelope, filled with fresh rose petals, for example?Just make sure the poem doesn't end with something like, "Hey, it's better than a poke in the eye."That's apparently not too funny...
Bleh!
2008-02-23 17:34:00 Well, once again, I got a whole four hours of sleep... maybe.Absolutely no one in my life respects me. And I fully understand that repressing this anger and seething rage is unhealthy and the very foundation for, say, a school shooting. But I don't go to school, I don't own a gun, and so long as we're being honest, I'm too effing tired to expend any amount of energy doing anything other than bitching to you... AND YES, I DO KNOW WHAT THAT IS: THE WORLD'S TINIEST VIOLIN. So childish.Just bite me. Bite me all over. There is some news, but I just don't care that much. There are some press releases, but - again - just none too interested. The good news is that things are about to change on the home-front here - and, no, I am not going to go on a rampage against those who have wronged me, justified though that may be - and hopefully everything will get back to relative normalcy... just three more days.© C Harris Lynn, 2008

Your Own Style
2008-02-22 04:49:00 Maybe it's just because I am such an unrepentant, little dork, but I really dig certain, little affectations. I openly dislike people who behave a certain way or take on certain affectations just for attention, then justify it with the age-old, "I'm expressing myself," but I have never denied that some things really do express who a person is.I have always wanted a pocket watch. Seriously. I'm not much of a watch-type guy, but I said a long time ago that, if I were going to wear one on a regular basis, I would prefer it to be a pocket watch. Maybe it's my affinity for Raymond Chandler and the Roaring Twenties in general, or maybe it's just me wanting to be "different," but I really think pocket watches are cool. And small affectations like a pocket watch are just the kind of thing that really do say something about you as a person without calling a whole lot of attention to yourself. What, exactly, it says, I don't know, but why dwell on that?Of course, if you are still in... More About: Style
Lawyer Confirms Gene Simmons Sex Tape
More articles from this author:2008-02-21 23:54:00 Gene Simmons ' lawyer has confirmed that the man appearing in a sex tape is, in fact, Gene Simmons .His lawyer sent a cease and desist letter to the owners of a website that appeared Tuesday, claiming all sorts of reasons for them to remove the video, including KISS licensing infringements. While The Rundown cannot link to the video, nor the bios, nor really any sites that have anything to do with this because The Rundown is not an adult blog and The Weirding is not an adult site, I have seen portions of the video.First of all, the God of Thunder is definitely guilty of exaggeration; while he certainly has nothing to be embarrassed over, I don't think you will be hearing much more of his Plaster Caster braggadocio. Further, the chick is an adult "model" (read: working whore) who has apparently at least performed solo-action previous to this "hardcore" appearance. Lastly, this is an awful sex video; nothing hot about it at all. This is the first I've heard about it and, for no real r... More About: Lawyer , Gene 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
