Next time you're at the Souther Accent restaurant (595 Markham Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) make sure you ask to get inside one of their Snugs!  What is it?  It's a small space for two draped overhead so that you're snug inside.  We suggest the authentic Hurricane Margarita when things get a little 'hot' inside ;)

Wellesley Station automatically triggers my paranoia of people?s pre-conceived notion of who I am just because I am there, with an automatic flashing rainbow lit label exposing the letters: GAY. While I walk along the sidewalk feeling invisible rocks being thrown at my back, while the horde of men displaying themselves in front of Timothy?s or on the sidewalk steps whose wandering eyes makes me feel like I?m being picked apart slowly, until there?s nothing left to judge. read more

Not only is this location an oasis like get away from the noise and traffic of the city, a ferry ride always seems to cure the ills of any day. For dinner we found ourselves at the newly renovated Rectory Café, that has been rated one of the fifty best patios in Toronto by Now magazine. To get there board the Wards Island Ferry hang a right at the landing and it is a quick walk. For a more scenic stroll follow the road straight to the boardwalk that curves around the island along the water. read more

Jokes, that rarely happens to me. But you know what does happen a lot? I find myself judging people solely on what they choose to drink. They say you can get a good first impression from a man if you look at his shoes; I say you get a better impression from what he is drinking. With its funky atmosphere and amazing fare Browns tone Bistro & Bar makes a prefect place for any type of meal. I must confess that I have been a number of times, but it is a little Toronto gem that if you don't know of, you must be told! The inside of this restaurant is a spectacle of colour with its terracotta tiling, walls of yellow paint and exposed brick, glossy mosaic pieces on the floor and prominent pillars. Wake'board'ing - The sport of riding a short, very broad water ski in the manner of a surfboard while being towed by a motorboat. Why the formal definition? Because surely I can't be the only one who had no idea what wakeboarding was. Of course unlike me you don't have to formally announce your degree of cluelessness to the world, but rather can now read this in proud anonymity and comfort while becoming fully aware as well.
