Video - S.H.E - Super Star
2007-12-07 13:34:00
S.H.E, currently the second most popular group in China and Hong Kong (according to Baidu's top 200 singers list), put out a great performance through the song Super Star, released in 2003. I really like the song's video not only because the three S.H.E girls are awesome, but also because the performance gave me the impression that life is circling around tremendous freedom, fame, and power, but regardless of how much one can achieve, life could still easily be diminished by love. Ultimately it's all the hardships and the unpredictability of relationships that seems to dominate our lives endlessly. The rock concert performance is just a perfect scenario to illustrate this point. Lyrics and Translation: Continue reading »

Massive Collection of Asian Albums - Hundred of GBs worth of MP3s FREE
2007-12-05 22:21:00
Oh my good god, I just realized that my 20 GB MP3 Player is tiny, really tiny. Right now I have a total of 30 GBs of MP3s and I just found out an awesome site offering hundred of GBs of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese MP3 downloads for free. Oh my goodness. That means after I'm done with all the school works. I'm going to purchase a master ISP plan allowing me to download/upload 15/5 megabits per second, as supposed to my current plan of 5/2 mbps, get a new 500-1000 GBs hard drive and download everything I could possibly find on there. Yup. Continue reading »

An audiophile wannabe?
2007-12-05 13:42:00
One of these days, I'm going to stream all my music online. I did that a while ago, but then the host server had problems with it. Anyway, I've long wanted to listen to my music anywhere any time especially when I'm in my car. I have about 50 CDs in my car and it's a pain everytime I want to change CD. My car has a 6 discs CD changer, but changing CDs in and out has been a nuissance. I resist the temptation of buying an MP3 player because you know. it costs hundred of dollars and I'm not a rich person at all. Occasionally I bring my laptop to my car and listen to music from there, hooking it to my car using a cassette adapter. Needless to say, that didn't go well because my laptop's batter can only last at most 2 hours. Although, I do have a AC converter in my car as well. Continue reading »

Facebook Leaderboard - Top of the World
2007-11-17 03:59:00
I'm currently the #1 Super Master among Facebook 's 53036 players. Don't ask me how I did it. It's nothing to be proud of when you're #1 in playing games...uhh... That's kinda weird. I thought it would feel something different or somewhat of an accomplishment. But actually, it's more about guilt than anything else. Nevertheless, here it is.

Google?s Response to Facebook: ?Maka-Maka?
2007-10-29 22:03:00
Having heard the news that Google lost to Microsoft in making ads deal with Facebook and that Facebook is gaining popularity at an extreme rate, I was afraid that Google might lose an edge in social networking, but recent news suggests that Google is developing an application network with code name Makamaka (what kind of name is this?) as an attempt to fight back Facebook. Anti-Telemarketing Script
2007-10-16 22:05:00
Telemarketers always use a script: why shouldn't you? What to say when they call if you don't want junk calls. Every time you get a call you consider junk, just ask the questions in this script. If they answer no, you may be able to sue them. Be sure to put your phone number on the National Do-Not-Call registry by visiting http://donotcall.gov or by calling 1-888-382-1222. 1. Are you calling to sell something? 2. Could you tell me your full name please? $ 3. And a phone number, area code first? $ 4. What's the name of the organization you're calling for? $ 5. Does that organization keep a list of numbers it's been asked not to call? $ 6. I would like my number(s) put on that list. Can you take care of that now? $ 7. And does the company you work for also make telemarketing calls for any other organizations? (If they answer no, skip the next question.) (If yes) Can you make sure your company won't call me for any other organization? $ ...

Opinion to Daily News

Lady wins 2 million lawsuit after doc left a sponge inside her Mistake happens and this does NOT warrant a $2 million payment, which i'm sure she sued for much more than than. ObGyn's deliver hundreds of babies, making a single mistake such as leaving a sponge inside mom is horrible, but it is nevertheless a mistake by the whole surgical team. Nurses are the ones who count sponge (not docs). Ruining a doc's career with such a lawsuit is taking advantage of and trying to make easy money because of someone's mistake. Bull$hit. I dislike patients who are like that. If only docs can refuse patients who have a history of being difficult and making frivolous lawsuits. Unfortunately that's not allowed (which I concur), but generally all docs dislike difficult pts and what ends up with is docs trying hard to cover their a$$ when faced by lawsuit-prone pts. As for the comments regarding she can't have babies, that's bs also. There's a possibility, but no where in the case does it sa...

Are you looking for sex?
2007-10-05 10:29:00
Normally when a girl asks you question such as this, you'd assume she's a prostitute. If you're not in the business of prostitution, your answer would unquestionably be a polite refusal. There's nothing proud when you're approached in this manner because ultimately, you're the one who have to pay for service. Having said that, I recently encountered a similar situation where a girl confessed to me that she's lonely, would like to find some friends, and would want to be friends with me. After all of that, she went on to ask me am I looking for sex because she's pretty much open to anything. That brings up an interesting topic because if I were to face the same scenario two years ago, I would probably taken the option I mentioned above, "let's get the hell out of here when I still can." But recent events have made me more receptive toward casual sex as an entertainment resource. Don't get me wrong, hear me out first. Continue reading »

TV Series - Ally McBeal - Season 1 Episode 1 - Pilot
2007-10-03 05:31:00
No wonder Ally McBeal was one of my favorite TV Series . It's sophisticated, professional, corporate living style intermingled with all the oddities life has to offer including love, romance, friendship, and sex. Even though I only watched several episodes of Ally McBeal, I was enthusiastically drawn in toward those that I had seen. I'm glad to be able to follow the complete series this time around. Stay tune for the 2nd episode.

The story behind the Beijing 2008 Olympic Logo
2007-09-26 06:26:00
Many years ago, I was pretty excited to know that China will host the Olympic in 2008. After all, China is second only to the US in medal ranking. In addition, this is the country known to have the most fiercesome athletes, kung fu masters, and mental and physical disciplines in the world. One would expect that being the host, China would spend a tremendous amount of thoughts and resources into designing the most meaningful olympic logo representing their power and determination. Well, apparently this is what they came up with. And you bet, they definitely got the idea from something.

Where can you have the most sex?
2007-09-23 06:45:00
Note to self: Must move to Greece On other note, Poland is over-represented. I'm surprised to see that the Japanese are the most unfortunate because they're leading the world in terms of p0rnography. US isn't that much better either. I wonder why am I still here 'cause look at China and Malaysia. While they're over there blasting away with personal fulfillment as God intended, we're over here like a sitting duck.

10 Mental Blocks to Creative Thinking?
2007-09-21 10:45:00
"Whether you?re trying to solve a tough problem, start a business, get attention for that business or write an interesting article, creative thinking is crucial. The process boils down to changing your perspective and seeing things differently than you currently do. People like to call this ?thinking outside of the box,? which is the wrong way to look at it. Just like Neo needed to understand that ?there is no spoon? in the film The Matrix, you need to realize ?there is no box? to step outside of. You create your own imaginary boxes simply by living life and accepting certain things as ?real? when they are just as illusory as the beliefs of a paranoid delusional. The difference is, enough people agree that certain man-made concepts are ?real,? so you?re viewed as ?normal.? This is good for society overall, but it?s that sort of unquestioning consensus that inhibits your natural creative abilities. Continue reading »

Video - Monkey taking a dog for a train ride
2007-09-21 09:56:00
Oh my gosh, I can't believe this video, yet another awesome video by the Japanese again. This monkey, whom I admit I should address him/her by a proper name, surprisingly and supposedly was taught on how to ride a train. He got a mission of taking his beloved friend, dog, from one area to the next. Let's see how he does it or whether he can do it at all?

Video - Atheist Delusion
2007-09-21 09:29:00
First of all, I'm a God believer, but I do see atheists make a lot of sense. I support them in many ways against people who are so devoted in their religions that they don't see the points in other religions. I believe that you're free to believe in what you choose 'cause at the end, none of it seems to matters. Adults believing in God in a way is similar to children believing in teddy bears and Santa. One could say that they're all methods of coping mechanisms we create to deal with life. Interesting topic.

Mint, the one stop for all your finance online
2007-09-19 19:21:00
Nowadays, you can access your banking accounts online, make credit card purchases, online transactions, but you need to go to thousand of different sites available in order to do it. Mint.com wants to be the one-stop shop for all your financial needs. It will synchronize with your bank and credit card accounts daily and elegantly make reports of your individual usage such as restaurant, gas, shopping, etc. The service is currently new, so the stability is yet to be proven, but it seems like a pretty good start up company. I'm going to register an account and check them out. If it's decent, I might end up moving all my accounts into Mint.

Best canal headphones for under $50
2007-09-18 23:13:00
Music has been an important part of my life. I listen to music very frequently and my favorite types range from slow, easy listening songs, to hardcore eurodance pop music. I've also been a hardcore music fan, designing official websites for various celebrities, so in a way, I'm very in tune with knowing what makes a piece of music good music. As a result, I feel I should have a decent audio sound system. From my "dorm" room, blasting away with earth shattering music isn't feasible, so headphones is the next best alternative. A long time ago, I purchased a huge $100 closed headphone to satisfy my musical needs. Even though the headphone till this date still receive excellent reviews, it turns out that I didn't use it much because it was huge and heavy. So lately I've been searching for a decent portable headphones. I purchased a Sentry Noise-Reduction Headphones, HO229 for $10 half a year ago to test out how much I like canal in-ear headphone. Needless to say, though the Sent...

Website Updates - Tag cloud, multimedia, psychological trick
2007-09-18 23:08:00
A few updates: 1. Tag Cloud: Tag cloud now is weighted with 10 different font size and shadows, sorted by name. Only tags with two or more entries is displayed. It's actually a useful feature for me as well because it reflects important topics that I focus on the most in my blog. Although I only started tagging my entries about six months ago so I still have 1000+ entries untagged. At some point next year, I need to go through all those entries, skim through and tag all of them accordingly. 2. Multimedia : A touch up on the player and recently played list, making it visible and invisible as desired. This gives me a better idea for some of my other links. I can have additional little menus to make everything more condensed. 3. Psychological Trick : I also replace the "continue reading" with "click to continue" link because there was a study which concluded that "click to continue" is more action oriented and resulted in 8% in click through rate (CTR) than my prior "continue readi...

5 things you should never say to your significant other
2007-09-18 09:15:00
In arguments, men and women tend to say the wrong things either to upset the other intentionally or to resolve a nonresolvable conflict, often to end up in constant unending arguments, full of frustration and no sex. Methods such as being in complete silent, or saying "it's up to you", "you knew this before when we were friends" are the classic I've seen. I don't think these drive only women nuts, but also men as well. As adults, I would think that those who do these things are aware of their conflict-causing behavior and thus I don't even know what kind of people they are to behave so childishly and unprofessionally. Here's my brief interpretation of these behaviors: 1. Being in complete silent and saying things like "it's up to you" suggest that the person doesn't give a $hit about what's going on anymore. They think this is going to help the conflict? If you don't care, then there is no point of continuing the argument anymore, ie. breaking up is the next best thing. So...

2007 Autoshow - Frauleins of Frankfurt
2007-09-16 00:52:00
Let's face it. What would men do without women? The auto industry around the world always features cars with attractive sexy models. The political correct among us might argue that cars have nothing to do with women so showing models along side vehicles is condescending toward women. While I agree with that view, I also agree that companies should display women next to the products they advertise. Reason is that in any event, regardless of how important, the lack of women makes the event boring and unappealing (think of gun shows because it's only "appealing" to the selected fews, not to the majority of the population). The car, games, mobile enthusiast might not focus on the women themselves, but others including the media, journalists, and people like you and I, being a large majority of the visitors need something to distract our attentions. It's difficult to admit, but women make men feel whole and so for any object advertised to be meaningful, the image of a woman plays on ...

How a Millionaire?s Brain Works
2007-09-15 02:52:00
"A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan. Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank?s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank?s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41. The loan officer said, ?Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we ch...
