Relationship - Emotional Infidelity
2008-04-17 09:31:00 I want to know what everyone thinks about wife leaving 6 times in 3 years of marriage. She had lived with and dated her x-boyfriend for 10 years. Everytime she has left, I know of her borrowing money from him twice and visiting his house twice. I am sure their is more. She has been going to the bars because that was her life before I met her and she has been there with him I'm sure. She left again 2 weeks ago and as soon as she left she had contacted him and met him for 38 minutes at the Sheriffs Dept. There was continuous contacts by cell phone and I am sure they have met up again. We have been through alot of counseling and she swears that she hasn't cheated. She said that she would take a lie detector test. Ok, if she hasn't cheated like she said, what about an emotional affair? How about abandonment? I found out that she has been calling him periodically over the last couple months. Any advice? Biblically speaking? -JSM To maintain a relationship, people need to follow a co... Dating - Winks and Icebreakers
2008-04-17 07:02:00 To me, winks and icebreakers are practically useless in the online dating community. A wink in match.com or an icebreaker in yahoo personals or eharmony a passive behavior. It says that the person 1) is afraid of rejection or 2) lacks confidence or 3) wants to avoid hitting the ball first. If I receive a wink, I treat it as "zero" ie. it doesn't mean anything and there's nothing needed to be done. The ability to have winks/icebreakers is more a marketing feature and perhaps is useful for non-members of gauge interest of paying members. Online Dating Guide & Blog has a good post discussing winks and views in details. Webpersonalsonline.com has the following conclusion about winks. So, while we feel email is the best method for contacting other members of your online dating site, winks do have their place. Winks can allow free members to gauge interest from other paying members before joining the site and they can allow a member of the site to determine if there is any interest... Dating - When should you meet?
2008-04-17 01:20:00 Joe: I have been talking with a match for over three months now. Our conversations (phone and online chat) are great and I feel like I've really connected with her. We live far away from each other, but I finally brought up spending a day together as a possibility. She said it was "interesting" and kind of didn't reply much after this. I was hoping asking via online chat would be best, but now I feel so lost given the reply and everything else. Does she just want to be friends? I've spoke with her a couple of times since then (was a few days ago) but haven't mentioned meeting again. What do I do? I'm really depressed about this. You should meet after the first few phone talks. Bring it up directly. If she doesn't want to meet or want to wait, then she's not that interested in you (even if she said so). You should put your hope elsewhere and continue to find other potentials. Don't beg, don't be desperate. Slowly withdraw until you see her in person. If she doesn't give in... Virtually Secluded
2008-04-15 06:29:00 Whenever someone reaches my site searching for H@R/ard or anything academic related, I get nervous. I'm thinking of changing all such words into another variation less known to search engines. I'll decide later about this. Other words include: surjeri, med!cine, rese@rch, etc. Yeah, as of this point, I think maybe only 1-3 people know me in person knows about this site. The number is fairly low and I intend to keep it that way, because as soon as it breaks lose, as it once did in the past, I might have to move to another secluded area, ie. changing the entire domain name. Changing the entire domain takes about 3 months and $50 because 60-day interval limitation. I would then have to change the blogging script to reflect the changes as well. I've done this at least once so I've become accustomed to the process, which isn't as tedious and fearful as it once was, but still it's an annoyance. Furthermore, it's quite difficult to find a good domain name. More About: Website , Domain , Blogs , Virtually
Japanese Anim - Appleseed Ex Machina (2007)
2008-04-14 21:32:00 I always have lots to do, but no money to spend. That's why I love artificial intelligence, because in the virtual world I am Super Man. Actually, forget Super Man. He's one uncool dude (see Why Superman Will Always Suck). I am Briareos, instead. Briareos is one kick-ass veteran cyborg, able to kill anyone in a blink of an eye with his John Woo's Chow-Jun-Fat 2-handed double machine guns. This cyborg isn't invincible though because he can break just as easily trying to save Deunan, the love of his life. Now Deunan is one hot chick, even for a virtual human. She's the only human talented enough to go against a team of advanced cyborgs without a sweat. Watching at her, I couldn't help but thinking that if female cyborgs could look half as good, I wouldn't mind would love to have 7 of them as companions all the time, one a day, seven days a week. Ahh, what I just described is not even 0.01% of our futuristic world in the year 2132, illustrated through the Japanese Animation : A... More About: Movies
Health - Complete Package of Massaging Robots
2008-04-14 17:07:00 Just bought the HoMedics BKK 100 Spot Massage r ($36) for mom from Amazon. It gets very good reviews 4.5 out of 5 from 61 reviews. This one is specifically for spot massages. I'm also thinking of getting her a Homedics SBM-300H Therapist Select Shiatsu PLUS Massaging Cushion with Heat ($130) as well for back massage. This SBM-300H is noted to be better than the quad-rolling QRM-400H massager from the same company. The reason I'm getting these is that a few weeks ago, I bought a $3 (on sale) HoMedics PM-30BX On-The-Go Battery Operated Mini 3 Node Massager ($10) as a mini travel massager just for fun and mom liked it very much. There is also a hand-held HoMedics PA-100 Therapist Select Percussion Massager ($30), which most likely I'll eventually get as well. I think mom really like these stuffs. This one has 2 percussion and I seem to like it more than the 4 percussions one, mainly due to the size. These are HUGE and I don't think mom like it at all, so 2 is better than 4 defin... Korean Movie - Two Guys (2004)
2008-04-13 21:54:00 I think Korean Movie s and Dramas are among the best, if not THE best, in the world. Their comedies are very light, appropriate, and not offensive to any group. Two Guys (2004) is a typical depiction of this style. They make a mafia-style crime thriller into a hilarious comedy chase. Korean are quite famous for this capability. Many of their dramas are corporate style, but somehow they're able to inject doses of wicked humors into the simple but meaningful plot. Much like Ally McBeal, which I liked a lot. That's why I find Korean Comedies the best in the world. Synopsis: Hoon (Cha Tae-hyun) is good at driving, seducing women, and getting credit card loans. He is always pressed to pay back his debts, but he's never bothered. One day, Joong Tae (Park Joong Hoon), a debt collector, came to him telling him that if he doesn't pay the debt, he will take Hoon's kidney instead. Once, Hoon and Tae takes a drunken foreigner to the hotel. Meanwhile, Hoon and Tae witnesses the foreigne... More About: Etiquette , Review
Intergalactic Civilizations
2008-04-12 04:03:00 This is how I see ourselves, but everyone else thinks I don't make sense. Perhaps because people live on a local scale while I live on a global scale. I consider that my culture is that of Earth's and my religion is individualized or unspecified. I dislike it when people distinguish themselves with their own country's culture (hence, I once said "f#ck the chinese culture if [that's the way it thinks]" in reference to some ridiculous idea that someone brought up). I also dislike it when people are fixated on their religion without an appreciation to other religions different from their own. And similar to others, I don't like war, but I oppose wars not simply between countries, but wars and conflicts between people. I don't hold any favoritism towards any country, any race, any group of people, because to me, we all live on Earth and so we're the same. What distinguish ourselves from others are our current thoughts, our ideas, our future, but never our ancestors and our ori... More About: Science , Religion , Technology , Culture , Civilization
Movie - An Empress and the Warriors (2008)
2008-04-11 05:47:00 I just finished watching An Empress and the Warriors - Jiang Shan Mei Ren (2008 ). Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 Initially, I thought it's going to be one of those boring movies, but the moment I realized the actors and actresses in the movie, wow I didn't know that this is one of the big movie in HK. The movie featured Leon Lai (Duan Lan-quan) and Kelly Chen (Yen Fei-Er), two of my favorite singers, plus Donnie Yen (Muyong Xuehu). Americans know nothing about this, but these are HUGE STARS in hk, ever since 15 years ago) (Donnie Yen is so so, but he starred in some other good movies too). They're like Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage, and Will Smith, all in one movie. Continue reading » More About: Movies , Movie , Reviews
Dating - Should I Actively Pursue More Than One Person?
2008-04-08 00:28:00 I like this article a lot :-) Sometimes, I tend to forget that dating advisors are kind hearted. Listening to the System and the Rules give me quite a bad impression of these dating tips, but after all, at least one of them still recommends that honesty is still the best policy and for that, I absolutely agree. I really wish I could send this article to the people who have lied to me in the past. There's something great about imprinting the word "remember honesty" on their forehead, kind of like the in-your-face bitch attitude. But of course, forget it, because the mean me can think or blog whatever it wants, but the real me always tries to behave in a decent manner. My answer has been the topic of many "heated" debates. If you have more than one person you are spending a lot of online time with, I don't see the harm or the problem However, if one of the singles you are spending a lot of time with believes you are only interested in them, then it becomes wrong. ... What Men Say And What They Really Mean
2008-04-07 22:48:00 Very good article on how men communicates, although the same thing is true for women. Whenever someone says "I'm not ready for a serious relationship" or "I want my freedom" what they essentially means, but aren't willing to admit bluntly is, "you're not my type, I'd like to look for other opportunities while keeping you as a backup." I've been on both sides of the fence, so I'd advise that when that happens, step back and respect such decision because 1) there's nothing you can do about it and 2) you want someone who's committed to you, not committed to finding new opportunities elsewhere. If you two haven't been exclusive, then it's natural for each to continue dating normally. If you have already been exclusive and the other person came up with that decision without your input? Remember the policy of mutual decision. It's time to terminate that relationship right there right then without looking back. Those who don't respect that policy are blatantly selfish. They ... Opposite-sex friends travel slippery slope
2008-04-06 18:12:00 A superb article on whether one can have opposite sex friends while being in a relationship. The brief idea is: the spouse has the right to be uncomfortable with opposite sex friendship. In such cases, if a resolution cannot be reached, that opposite sex friendship should be dropped, no question asked. This answers a lot of the speculations because those with opposite-sex friends are notorious for inflicting pains upon their significant other while claiming the other guy or girl is "just a friend". These people often bring up trust as a supportive argument for their behavior, but in reality, trust is earned, not given for free, and thus, if the significant other is uncomfortable, such friendship needs to be changed or worse, terminated. This concept also eliminates inappropriate jealousy, because in these cases, jealousy is legitimate, contrary to popular belief that it is unhealthy to relationship. Jealousy exists for a reason and should be adjusted accordingly depending on the c... More About: Family , Travel , Marriage , Friends , Friendship
Good Sexual Intercourse Lasts Minutes, Not Hours, Therapists Say

Penn State Erie researchers Eric Corty and Jenay Guardiani conducted a survey of 50 full members of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, which include psychologists, physicians, social workers, marriage/family therapists and nurses who have collectively seen thousands of patients over several decades. Dating - How Long Should You Talk To A Girl Before Moving Further
2008-04-02 07:47:00 Question: How long should you talk to a girl before asking for her number/email or arranging a date? Answer: 5 minutes. The more you talk, the worse your chance will get. It takes almost anyone about 2 minutes to figure out whether he/she likes the other person or not. So by the 3rd minute, she should have enough time to make up her mind. Asking after 5 minutes gives you the sense of control. It lets her know you know what you're doing, not afraid to take risk. It also prevent the conversation to be dragged on without any result. You can't let her be satisfied with the low key, casual, no risk, friendly talks. 5 minutes is all it takes. She is either interested or not. It's time to move forward or move on. Dating - How Long Will A Woman Wait For A Man To Be In A Committed Relation
2008-04-02 06:38:00 Question: If a woman expresses an interest in a committed relationship with a man, how long should he wait if he's not yet interested? Answer: Forever, until he's ready. This situation happened to me quite frequently. Although I've always decided not to enter a committed relationship when I'm not ready, I've never quite been able to explain why. The following Ezine Article explains this nicely. Woman will remain committed to a man as long as she's still attracted to him. The only women who won't stay committed in a non-committed relationship after they express their desire to be committed are the women who are simply looking to control him Making a commitment to be in a committed relationship with a woman is something that should happen when the man is ready and not because he fears he will lose her if he doesn't enter a committed relationship soon. Romance - How affectionate are you?
2008-03-15 11:54:00 I'm quite content that I am all of the following 9 items except for "offer to brush her hair." Yeah, I think I'm an affectionate person. Not sure whether that's a good thing or is considered as being too "sensitive" though. How affectionate are you? In a recent survey of 555 GetRomantic.com visitors we asked: Which romantic gesture do you prefer? A whopping 46% said "cuddling". In honor of our affectionate readership we've composed a list of 9 ways you can be affectionate towards your partner. While your love is cooking or washing the dishes go up behind him or her, and wrap your arms around their waist. Nuzzle your face into their neck and tell them how much you love them. If you're lucky they will turn around to give you a kiss. :) When walking past your love (around the house, in the yard, while shopping, while at a barbeque, etc.) make it a point to touch them. This could be a quick touch to the shoulder or waist, or a kiss on the cheek. Snuggle together on the couch wh... More About: Marriage , Relationship , Romance
The psychosocial dynamics of human behavior
2008-03-08 17:57:00 Lately, I began to think that communication is very important in relationship. Of course, I knew it before, but I seem to realize it more. I think people should be receptive toward advice and constructive comments. Some are very belligerent, unreceptive. In turn, they're stubborn, keeping unhealthy thoughts. If that's the case, perhaps it's best to break apart. There are several behavioral spectra explaining this phenomenon: Intelligence (smart - not smart) Maturity (inexperienced - experienced) Perfectionism (imperfectionist - perfectionist) Mindset (traditional - unconventional) Continue reading » More About: Behavior , Human , Dynamics , Psychology , Personality
Banning criteria
2008-03-08 08:39:00 I just banned a couple of IPs from my blog. There are a couple of conditions for banning. Bad friend: If the person WAS a friend, who I shared my blog to, yet they're no longer worth the friend status. Depends on how bad of a friend they were. If they were clearly bad to me, most likely they would get banned if not now then later. The hk girl falls into this category. The girl was simply selfish who gave a shit about me. I've decided to no longer be friends with whoever were selfish AND broke a serious promise to me, unless they fix that promise or give themselves enough of a punishment worthy of their selfish behavior. But of course, people would never do that, so they're forever worth ass in my mind. Inactive status: If the person was or is a friend, who I shared my blog upon their request, yet they no longer visit my blog. A couple of friends fall into this category. Some gal in CA. Some friends in med school. And currently my girl GL. I shared with them because they ask ... More About: Personal , Website , Blogs , Criteria

Elegant web design
2008-02-22 11:19:00 DivineCaroline.com has my vote for being a really well-designed elegant site. If my site is a 4 out of 10 in design quality, then Divine Caroline would be an 8. They have million of dollars to spend and have a professional group to make the site for them, so I admit inferiority. When I have time, I'll try to make mine more like theirs, but of course, I won't have that kind of time, so my site is fine that way it is. It's not that difficult though. Give me about a month and I can design a site just as elegant. That's one week for coming up with the layout and test it out, another week to finalize the layout, then two weeks to make all publishing stuffs work. Of course, I'm giving myself a lot more credits than I probably have. More About: Web Design , Design , Website , Elegant
Free Wifi Internet Access
2008-02-22 09:25:00 I'm providing free wifi internet access. I think we should share our access with others. If others are using it insensibly (ie. too much) there's always an option of banning them from the network. If they use it for illegal purposes, it's none of your problem because when you open up your network, it's a wild card to illegal activities. It's fun and feel great to see the "0000 Address St - Free Wi-Fi" in the network list. The idea that we all should chip in for a huge internet connection speed appeals to me because the overall cost would be a lot less than all of us paying separately for our own account. Of course, this way, everyone's getting it for free and I end up being the one who's paying, but it's the idea that I'm supporting, and so I'm promoting that idea. Enjoy. Psychology - Sarcastic Masters
More articles from this author:2008-02-18 12:03:00 They're smart, they're funny, and they know it. But is cracking jokes that put other people down truly wise? If there's such a thing as a congenital smart aleck, Rachel Mosteller is it. The 27-year-old Houston journalist has been ready with a well-timed barb since her elementary-school years. "I made my first quip when I was about 10. My parents were getting divorced right around my birthday, and I said, 'Well, isn't that a great present,'" she recalls. "That made my mom pretty mad." Mosteller has continued to hone her sensibility ever since. "I tend to use it when I think people are taking themselves too seriously," she says. Certified wisecrackers may see their snarky remarks as clever diversions, but because the distinction between a joke and an insult can be nebulous, they can easily damage relationships and careers with their one-liners. Frustrated by her company's practice of feting model employees with Hallmark-style gifts, Mosteller posted a send-up of the policy ... More About: Psychology , Sarcastic , Masters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
