Guns don't make good drills - 3.26.08 Voxant Today
2008-03-26 17:05:00
Just a word of advice for those of you who are the do-it-yourself type: Don't use guns to drill holes into walls. In a story from the AP that is equal parts tragedy and comedy, a Missouri man decided it would be smart to shoot two holes in the wall while installing his satellite dish, not thinking about the fact that bullets go through walls. Unfortunately, one of the stray bullets hit his wife who was in the front yard. Looks like common sense isn't so common. Homepage featured stories- Stop! We're knee-deep in the fifth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war and would you believe that after five years in Iraq, some people are sick and tired of it? Protest ers have descended on the nation's capital and they're shaking things up in front of the IRS building. They're chanting, stomping and singing, all in the name of democracy. Where's the crazy professor when you need him? From coconut radios to bamboo stethoscopes, the "professor" (of what I couldn't tell you) could do anything on Gilligan's Island. Dawn Wells, the actress who played Mary Ann on the show, could've used his skills last year when she was caught driving in Idaho (not surprising that she sticks to the landlocked states) with what one can only assume was a three-hour high. 2008-03-10 17:18:00
Have you even wondered why everyone is so crazy these days? The results of a months-long Associated Press investigation may hold the answer - we're all on drugs. This month, our featured provider is Watchmojo, a self-described web video magazine. Watchmojo covers pretty much everything. They do fashion, health, travel, movies, music and more. We talked with the president of Watchmojo, Ashkan Karbasfrooshan and asked him some questions about his company, the blogosphere and the internet in general. Before that I worked at Mamma, a meta-search engine. March CPM Report: more for video, less for everything else
2008-03-06 23:14:00
Every month about this time, The Powers That Be (the guys in the smoke-filled room in the back of he building) announce the CPM rates for the coming month. No, I'm kidding - there's no conspiracy. Our rates are tied to market forces - meaning that as demand for certain types of content shifts, so does the amount we pay out for syndicating them. In March , the payout rate for text and image assets took a sizable hit, while video assets and feeds have seen an increase. Facebook's kidney connection - 3.3.08 Editorial Budget
2008-03-03 20:53:00
For those of you not connected to the social networking phenomenon that is Facebook, (shame on you!) you might be surprised to hear that the social network facilitated a kidney donation. On Facebook, you can poke, prod, kiss, hug, strangle, kick, punch (and any other verb you can think of) your friends with a click of the mouse. But it's not just fun and games; Facebook also brings people together. Almost everyone has had a Facebook reunion with old friends from the past that they've accidentally discovered on the network. But has anything substantial come out of them? Well, one of these reunions wound up in one of the reunited friends donating his kidney to the other. It's a heart-warming story. Those darned kids today with their picture messaging. That means the kids taking them (keep in mind we're talking about kids taking pictures of their own naked bodies) are child pornographers, according to law enforcement. If looks could kill - 2.27.08 Editorial Budget

If looks could kill, last night there would have been plenty of blood and guts on the floor at the Democratic debate in Ohio.
