Amouage Homage ~ new fragrance

Amouage has launched Homage, a limited edition attar to mark their 25th anniversary: The attar is a heady floral, dominated by Rose Taifi, the finest quality rose oil extracted from the petals of the rose, which is famed throughout the Gulf region for its rich and romantic fragrance. The name derives from the ancient city of Taif where the precious rose was grown and guarded by the Saudi Kings who ruled the city, as a valuable and rare treasure. Complementing this are the finest Silver Frankincense, found only in the southern mountain ranges of Oman, Tayyiba, a beautiful blend of Jasmine, Sweet Amber and White Musk, Silver Oud and Al Andalus, a subtle blend of Orange, Lemon and Sandalwood. Christina Aguilera Inspire ~ new perfume

Christina Aguilera 's second fragrance under arrangements with Procter & Gamble, and her first to be marketed in the United States, will be Inspire, due to launch this September: The new effort is meant to provide "a modern take on the Pop Art era," the influence that Warhol had on the period combined with the image of Tokyo, particularly "the energy and excitement and how the whole city feels and comes alive at night," she said. Christina Aguilera Inspire will be a tuberose-focused white floral; according to a P&G spokesperson, Aguilera "loves tuberose fragrances but they tend to be a bit heavy so we kept working on it to make it more young". Additional notes include mango, citrus, freesia, rose, gardenia, orange blossom, sandalwood and musks. De Swardt denies the naming of the perfumes was a deliberate strategy to court controversy. "My aim in the beginning was to have a gallery of excitement for perfumers," de Swardt says. "The names were mostly to leverage emotion from the perfumers, to get them into a true zone of sexuality and sensuality. The usual perfume names are so ubiquitous, such as Beauty or Love, that it is difficult to do something different. I didn't want to go into that commercial story, but yes, in the end the names do become that (controversial)." ? Coming in September from Salvatore Ferragamo , Tuscan Soul , a citrus woody floral unisex fragrance. Bath and body products under the Tuscan Soul name have been available for the past year as amenity kits from Singapore Airlines and as a guest collection at selected hotels. Tuscan Soul is geared towards the expanding Chinese market and was introduced to the press earlier this year at Ferragamo's 80th anniversary celebrations in Shanghai. The dessert course has never been among my many vices. I can track a fresh bowl of heavily buttered popcorn from several blocks away, but the Triple Brownie Blackout cake has never called my name.
