Life in the Office
2007-09-20 00:16:00
This is a "hi-larious" video that my co-worker Darlene sent to me and Carson. She thinks it is better than both of our blogs combined. Well, now I have the video posted on my blog, which mean the Worst Blog Ever is now even better and more "hi-larious". I guess Darlene doesn't have much to do if she spends her days watching "hi-larious" videos on the internet.

Carson's Parrot...?
2007-09-19 20:11:00
So Carso n shows up at work today with his new pet caterpillar. His name is Bob. I think Carson actually wanted a Pirate's parrot, since today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. But, alas on his salary he was only able to afford a giant, brightly colored worm. Oh well, maybe once he gets a raise he'll be able to afford a real pirates parrot. AAARRRRRHHHHHH!

Nuclear Reactor Meltdowns in the Valley
2007-09-19 00:42:00
I knew that the Rocketdyne facility existed in the mountains separating the San Fernando and Simi Valley s and I knew there was extensive groundwater contamination at the site. What I didn't know about were the 3 partial meltdowns that took place at the site int he 50's and 60's. This video is from the History Channel and I found it originally posted here.

Who'da Thunk It?!?
2007-09-18 21:12:00
I never would have guessed it but when you search in Google for "red hat bear clock + lamp" you get over 1,350,000 results. And what is listed at Number Two? None other than this amazingly awesome blog! Incredible!!!All I wanted was some additional information on the latest addition to my office, but I don't think I will be able to find anything else about it. Oh well. Maybe you can help. It was manufactured by the Chu-Da Corporation and it looks like this. Good Luck!
Tasered in Handcuffs?!?
2007-09-18 04:11:00
I would like to know...Do you think it is ever OK to taser somebody if they are already in handcuffs? Please post your answer in the comments section. The reason I ask this question is because of a post I just read on LAist. Follow that link and check out the video. Yes, the guy became animated and impassioned with his question, but is that reason enough to remove him from the microphone by force, for no real nor apparent reason? I don't know. He could have been asked to just leave, but I think he probably still would have acted out as he did. But, the underlying fact is that he was tasered while HANDCUFFED and ON HIS STOMACH! That is a pretty submissive position, especially with 5 cops on top of you. Sure, his was causing a ruckus, so kick him out! Don't taser the poor sap when he's handcuffed!1st Photo Credit: AP Photo/The Capital Times, David Sandell2nd Photo Credit: AP Photo/Rutland Herald, Vyto Starinskas

My Competition?

So in case you haven't heard, this blog was started because Carson (the Muppet Eyed Crazy in the photo above) and I have decided to have a little competition between ourselves. We have decided to see who could create a more interesting and up to date blog. We have no idea how long this competition will last, nor do we know who will be judging the competition. All I have to say though is that if I loose to this Muppet Eyed Crazy I don't know what I am to do...probably nothing. Because this blog is pretty damn lame-o, but compared to Crazy Carson's blog...I'll probably still win.

Dear Lemmings, Please Hop Off the Fro-Yo Bandwagon.
2007-09-15 03:42:00
I was reading an enjoyable post by Lindsay William Ross over at LAist regarding the ridiculous news related to the resurgence of fro-yo here in southern California. And I must admit that I don't quite understand the greatness of it all. Sure, Pinkberry or any one of the thousands of competitors (I have a Limelite half a block from my Apt.) out there provide a tasty treat on a hot summer day, but there is nothing special about it. As Ms. Ross points 0ut, the fro-yo is not spectacular, but the fresh fruit toppings seem to push it away from the edge of marginality. Without the fruit you have nothing more than some sour frozen milk that has, more often than not, been sprinkled with some green tea powder. This is one of the dumber fads out there right now, I look forward to all the suburban hipsters moving on to the next big thing...just like good little lemmings.

I discovered Kinski when I saw them open up for Tool earlier this year. I was pretty impressed with their set in Las Cruces, but their set in Albuquerque two days later was only OK (according to the drummer..."they met some interesting folks at a bar before the show").But, seeing them play in a tiny venue (as compared with the Tool arena shows) was amazing. I saw them at the Echo here in Los Angeles and was completely blown away. Their music moves from heavy and dark to light and airy and seems to transcend the boundaries of "rock" music. You can check out some of their music on Kinski's MySpace page. Is it progressive, yes. Is it avant-garde, yes, certainly at times it is very avant-garde. With only four members in the band they probably have 20 different dist...

My New Clock-Lamp Thingy
2007-09-14 22:51:00
So, after a delightful lunch at Jasmine Thai BBQ here in the SCV, Carson, Zeeb, and myself decided to hit up the Goodwill Store next door. Since we happen to like eating at the two resturants adjacent to the Goodwill, post-lunch trips inside have become somewhat of a tradition. A very sad and depressing tradition. But today we discovered an amazing find. We don't know why this amazing item was created or even why someone would spend the time to design and manufacture this thing of beauty. To say it left us speechless and dumbfounded is an understatement. It certainly has created more questions than answers, and for a measly $4.99, it certainly is worth every penny! Some Facts About the Clock -Lamp Thingy:1) It works...sort of. As you can see in the video, the glass bear lights up nicely. But the red hat clock on top, needs a new motor.2) I makes a weird ticking noise when working. This makes me only slightly more uncomfortable than the fact that I actually paid money for thi...
Why Our Coffee Sucks
2007-09-14 18:24:00
This is our office coffee machine. It once made good coffee, now it makes bad coffee. Why?This is why: As you may or may not be able to see, the water filter housing has been placed where it goes, except there is no water filter being used! Bad water = bad coffee, plus as you can see in these photos there is still coffee and spent coffee grounds within the coffee maker. I point this out because they have been left in there for over 24 hours. Now I doubt the acidity of the coffee allows for much bacteria to be take hold, but the moist spent coffee grounds could be another story. I think I should stop drinking coffee at work. Zellman would be disgusted (more about Zellman in a future post)This is the empty water filter assembly.

I work here...what's your excuse
2007-09-14 18:04:00
Yep, the SCV...Santa Clarita Valley. I work here, which explains my near daily presence within this cookie-cutter city north of Los Angeles proper. I am about as far north as you can go and still be classified as almost LA. True the city limits are barely 5 or so miles away, but this little bucolic suburban paradise seems thousands of miles away...or does it? I seem to see little pockets of the SCV all over the LA area.Oh well.
