New Age Comfort....
2007-07-01 14:30:00 One of the most prominant and long time voice in New Age music is local Canadian, Sarah McLachlan. I've been a fan of her voice since the track "Into the Fire" from the album Solace, and it was also the Delirium mix of her song "Silence" that abrubted me into the rave scene. Some notable works which she represents; Lilith Fair, which is a "celebration of women in music" which lasted from 1997 to 1999; The Sarah Foundation, a dedicated youth program geared towards the advancement of music in the younger generation; And an all-inspiring voice that has been carried thru many generations of trance.Key names who utilizes her vocals; Tiesto, different variants of "Sweet Surrender"; Delirium did a feature of the song "Silence" which was then remixed by various Djs such as Paul Oakenfold and Matt Darey. I've enlcosed an audio of "Into the Fire" and a video of "Sweet Surrender" remixed by Tiesto. You could also check out my music shop under the links column to buy these albums.This... The Leaps and Bounds of the Non-Accredited
2007-06-16 15:23:00 So.... the long awaited release of my first mix apparently has been delayed due to "cost effective solutions" (lol). My project is missing it's second sound card which I desperately needed in order to finish my first mix. I previously had one, but built a computer for my little cousin which I still have yet to finish. So call it what you will, dj Cyberswat here is on a tight budget. (lol)In other news tho, I wanted to post about non-accredited djs and their road or roadblock to music success. Like any start out performer, djs must go through an invigorating process. They must continually work on their style of music whilst keeping up to date with the hottest released tracks. An article I've read in the past implies that in order for djs to steadily promote themselves, they must do gigs at bars and nightclubs for nominal or even free air-time (before prime time). That's just the kicker to it, once a little self promotion breaks ground, their next gigs are usually side shows... More About: Bounds , Leap
An Adventurous Lapse
2007-06-09 15:39:00 It has been many months since my last post, and all of you might have been wondering, "where's the entertainment?". Well, this long lapse in writing has been due to an obligation in which I had wanted to forfill for quite some time now. It has been 28 years since I've seen my Father and his side of the family. The trip was well worth it this time around. What I mean to say, is that, this has been the second trip back to my homeland to look for my father. Nine years ago was a failed accomplishment. Three months ago was a successful achievement. Now I'm also aware that I have two half-sisters and one half-brother(BTW my home country is Vietnam). It was a pleasant and joyful experience due to the fact that I have no siblings. Needless to say, I have fullfilled another chapter in my life. Now as far as the "scene" is concerned, it was totally awesome as I had hit a couple vibrant clubs. The Djs there were totally OG(very original) as to the style thats played here. The tone and pitch o... More About: Advent
Streaming Audio
2007-01-08 05:52:00 A good way to start the new year and reminisce would be listening to streaming audio online. There are many online hosts which you could choose from, that provides various types of music to which you could listen to. Some such sites are, Digitally Imported, Sky FM (sister station), Live365, and 1Club FM. These sites accommodate many Dance channels along with other genres as well. Some even have live sessions, (scheduled) such as Digitally Imported and Vonyc, with Paul Van Dyk as a weekly resident. The sites mentioned above provide streaming audio free of charge, along with a premium subscription as an option, which has higher bitrate (clearer audio), and more channels.Alternatively, you could choose to install software that has streaming audio as well. Winamp's Shoutcast radio, and Window's Media Player (media guide) have links to various channels of music as well. Included are those sites which I have posted. This way, so to speak, is easier than logging into each indivi... More About: Audio , Stream , Streaming , Ming
Clock's A Tickin'
2006-12-31 19:58:00 It's that time of year again, gone with the old, and in with the new, here's a poem from me to U:)Let us all gather round and cheer,With a drink of wine or an ice cold beerPerhaps you're like me and don't drink the swill,Or your like my grandparents who live on pills.Maybe this world seems harsh at times,Or its just that most of us just like to whine.I'd say that this is a great place to be,It all depends on how we can see.True we've had bad things in the past,But we know in our hearts that these will not last.If we try our best to be simple and pure,There's nothing our hopes and dreams cannot cure. So, I don't know the value this is worth,But lets all try to be happy and heal Mother Earth!Happy New Year! Dance Culture 101 (the Stepping Stone)
2006-12-30 13:42:00 If you haven't gotten out of your shell, or a retiree from the club scene, this article might be just what your looking for. Today's Dance Culture is somewhat much different than what you might have expected in the past years. There's no strict rules, paranoia of 5.0 (cops), dress-code, nor boundaries of cultures for which one might feel uncomfortable with. To tell the truth, the modern dance scene is quite lax, or even one might call a zone of unity. No matter how well you dance, what you look like, or even how knowledgeable you are in todays music, you could pretty well bet your left testicular ballock that you are sociably acceptable.First off, if your one of the two described above, and are interested in letting yourself loose, then you probably already have a dance genre that is favorable in mind. You need to make sure and research what genre you have preference in, by downloading songs you like, looking up the artist of a song you have in mind, or by asking friends or ... Globally Acclaimed
2006-12-25 23:41:02 Previous post I mentioned my favorite renowned Dj. You could've guessed by now, from the title, that it would be the moderator of trance music, Dj Tiesto. Reason being my favorite Dj is that he will "fine grind" your soul once listened upon, and his sounds are incredibly surreal. Take my advice, for if you have never listened to his tracks, read along and you will end up wanting one of his albums for your own current collection.Tiesto is a native of Holland who started out like any other Dj, mixing at parties and gigs within the Bar scene. He has over 30 Dj awards which are accredited to albums such as Magik, In Search of Sunrise, and the Nyana mix Compilations. Tracks which contribute to his notoriety include the famous remix "Silence" of Delirium featuring Female Vocal Canadian artist Sara McLachlan, and Kirsty Hawkshaw of the euphoric track "Just Be", which is one of my favorites. I also included this track beneath post, and a link to where u could buy this a... More About: Global , Bally , Ball , Ally
Serene Vocals
2006-12-25 23:41:02 Vocals, music, forms a combination towards a tranquil vibe to a good track. As you might of heard the audio of the previous post, vocals form a very euphoric, melodic, yet an uplifting environmental feel. Distinct voices that fits into this stream of music are, Janet Taylor with Protect Your Mind (BraveHeart), remixes of Enya, along with compilations of Sara Brightman's operatic voice. These Diva's and their extraordinary voices and songs are mixed by Dj's across the globe, while being very mainstream in Europe. Trance is usually the key dance genre to be mixed, but these vocals have been known to be included in ambience, house, and Euro pop as well. Phantom of the Opera was also a very popular song during the mid-90's dance scene, techno mixed by Harajuku, featuring voice over by Kristina Brook (I've included a music vid, provided by Onilynn2U featuring Vampire D anime cut scenes).RSS Video More About: Serene , Vocal , Rene , Vocals
Serene Voices
2006-12-23 03:27:00 Vocals, music, forms a combination towards a tranquil vibe in a good track. As you might of heard, the audio of the previous post, vocals form a very euphoric, melodic, yet an uplifting environmental feel. This kind of music enhancement is usually found in Trance. Distinct voices that fits into this stream of music are, Janet Taylor with Protect Your Mind (BraveHeart), remixes of Enya, along with compilations of Sara Brightman's operatic voice, all of which could be found among variated music styles. These Diva's and their extraordinary voices and songs are mixed by Dj's across the globe, thus, this trend being very mainstream in Europe. Just like in all music making, when compiling dance tracks with New Age(known as vocals), the track has to be chosen to fit the theme, along with the type of vocals, whether it is in high soprano, or low alto. Once composed, it's classified into a dance genre. Trance is usually the key genre to be mixed, but these vocals have been known to ... More About: Serene , VOIC , Rene |
