Rapper Shyne to be released early and his father is elected as Belize’s f

It’s being reported that rapper Shyne will be released early from prison for good behavior. Shyne is currently serving a 10 year sentence stemming from a shooting that occured at New York night club in 1999. Shyne along with Sean Combs, Jennifer Lopez and others were involved in an altercation with someone at the club, which lead to three people being shot. Shyne was pinpointed by a witness as being the shooter and was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison. On February 7, 2008 Dean Barrow,Shyne’s father was elected as the Prime Minister of Belize. Dean Barrow attended the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston and is also a well respected lawyer in Belize. Shyne is best known for hits like Bad Boyz and Bonnie and Shyne, both of which were collaborations with reggae superstar Barrington Levy.

Reggae Academy Awards

Judging by the Winner’s List, it seems that Tarrus Riley ruled the first Annual Reggae Academy Awards . Riley and his song She’s Royal won a total of six awards! Other winners included Busy Signal for Best Solo Male Dancehall Vocal for Nah Go A Jail, Best Dancehall Vocal Performance By A Duo or Group went to Brick and Lace for their hit Love is Wicked, and Stephen Marley’s Mind Control was yet again named Best Reggae Album of The Year, first in the US and now by The Reggae Academy. I got my copy of Alaine’s latest CD, Sacrifice.

I got my copy of Alaine’s CD, Sacrifice today and I’m excited. I really like her voice and the way she carries herself. I also think she’s slept on, I guess because she doesn’t have any controversy surrounding her. I wonder why she doesn’t perform at more concerts though…I don’t remember seeing her as a performer at any of the major concerts last year. Oh well, I like her and I hope she does big things in ‘08. Here she is with my “husband” (yeah, I’m going to let it go one day, just not today LOL!) Beres Hammond on Love Sounds. Enjoy!

Rumor has it that there have been stories circulating that my “husband” Beres Hammond is dead from a heart attack. I didn’t get this memo and I’m glad that I didn’t, because I love Beres, he is my absolute favorite male reggae singer and if he even sang the ABC’s to me I would be eternally grateful! By the way, his daughter and friends have confirmed that this is NOT TRUE! Thank God! Here’s one of my favorites, They Gonna Talk:

OK, yeah I’ve been MIA!

Hey everyone I’m back for real this time. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, I’ve been busy building 4 websites on Wordpress, this one of course, my copywriting site LonelyIslandCopywriting.com, AllOverJamaica.com ( a site about things to see and places to go in Jamaica), and my personal one, Tremaya.com. I’m not sure if I’m going to commit long term to my personal one, I think blogging about myself is boring, I tried it before and quit real quick, so I’m not convinced this time will be too different. Why did I switch from Blogger? I never intended to land on Blogger to begin with, I wanted a website but just starting out I didn’t know the first thing about building a website, HTML, or hosting so I thought I’d go with Wordpress….that was until I got to the part about having to edit my header image and I spent 2 hours just trying to figure that part out. OK, so let’s scratch that idea…..I headed right on over to Bl...

Well peeps, I did it. I made the big switch to Wordpress and what an endeavor it’s been! Transferring my files was oh so easy but as far as the hosting, templates, and FTP stuff….a total nightmare. I’m sure in a few months I’ll be a pro but for now I feel like I’m going crazy! If you happened to stop by this weekend, I’m sure you saw a million different templates but this is the one I’m sticking to, that is until I get rich and can afford to buy a custom one. I’ll be tweaking the site for a minute so bear with me through the changes. I’ll be back to posting shortly….

I’m back with my two cents on the Grammy’s

Hey guys, yeah I know it’s been a minute since I last posted but I’ve had a lot of crazy things going on lately. My cousin from Trelawny left Tuesday, I’d been playing hostess for the last two weeks trying to keep him entertained. (I think I did a pretty good job???) I’m also in the process of trying to build a website for my copywriting company and juggling writing assignments. I have never done anything as complicated as web building! What a headache! Anyway, I won’t bore you with anymore of my personal life, but just know that it’s been crazy but I’m back.:) I didn’t watch the Grammy’s, I went bowling instead. I forgot to set my recorder before I left for my parent’s and by the time I remembered I was over it, besides I knew the blogosphere would fill me in. I did manage to record the last hour on my DVR but I still haven’t gone back to watch them. Judging by the statements that Aretha Franklin made about Beyonc...

A picture of Diana Ross or anybody else at the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blue s Festival has been really hard to come by, but you know I had to keep digging until I found one and here it is. This is really a good shot too, considering that this is exactly how most people saw her at the show, far far away, since she allowed no big screens to be turned on (not familiar with the story, click here)!
