Spiral Review
2008-05-01 03:22:00 I must say that this was a very, very enjoyable watch. I’ve read many reviews on which they totally disliked it due to the ending, maybe I expected the most horrible ending possible, but in truth, the ending wasn’t so bad. It makes you think. Sure, there are things that aren’t answered, but it does set some kind of conclusion. The ending wasn’t abrupt, it just didn’t answer the plot (or any other things for that matter). I have many questions that need an answer towards this anime series but I’m afraid I’ll spoil this if I do. The reason I gave such a high rating was because the animation was very…nice. It was smooth, crisp and well done - nothing flashy. Well, actually, it was more of the character design, my favourite part of this anime. There weren’t too many characters introduced, and the songs - well I didn’t like them at first, now I love the songs! I also loved the relationships between the characters and how they c... Ultra Maniac Review
2008-04-24 14:11:00 If the character designs look familiar in this series it is because Ultra Maniac is by the same author that brought us Marmalade Boy. The thing I like about her work is that she really delves into the characters and makes us (the viewers) get to know them. Ultra Maniac is based on a manga of the same name by Wataru Yoshizumi. There are some slight descrepencies between the anime and the manga rather like there were on Marmalade Boy. The biggest change Maya (Nina’s rival witch). She is an original character created for the anime. In the manga the character she replaced was Sayaka Nakamura who was in love with Yuta. I won’t spoil any more of her background as the manga might have been licensed. The other difference is that in the manga you get a special epilogue telling you what has happened to the characters 3 years later. The whole prince concept was also not in the manga (those who have watched the anime will know what I mean). The animation in Ultra Maniac is fluid and... More About: Review

Aria the Natural Review
2008-04-22 14:00:00 With high expectation & excitement, I start watching the 2nd season after finishing the prequel. Upon finishing this series, I was both happy and sad. This season is no doubt much better than the prequel in all sense. Result was over my expectation, and how this series turn out to be as it progress throughout the 2nd season is simply marvelous, Is a really sad to see it come to an end. ARIA series is an anime I hope it never ends~! ANIMATION: Needless to say, the animation quality is top notched and even much better than the previous season! The scenery were much more refine, there’re more and more architecture and land mark introduced, and all this is what makes me love this series more and more. STORY PRORESS: With 26ep, and as an anime that doesn’t have a fixed story plot might sound really harsh to watch it to the end. However, I found it differently as I enjoyed every single episode it has to offer. Even more now that the story touches more on the Juniors who strive to ... Shigofumi Review
2008-04-13 16:22:00 When I first read the Synopsis, I thought to my self “What is this about? It doesn’t sound very interesting and could bore me too soon”. Thus I drove myself to watch one episode to see what it was like. How I never regret this moment. The Story is basically a postal type worker who delivers letters from people who just passed away to the person of their choice. These are called “Shigofumi”. This letter can include anything really. My first thoughts were it was …going to be revolved around this “Postal Worker” called “Fumika” and someone else that is human. I was totally wrong. It just doesn’t focus on one story, it sets the scenes off by describing various happenings as you will. It all comes into one at the end, but I will not spoil. This “happenings” invole murders, abuse, bullying etc. It doesn’t really cut anything out either so your given the full treatment as if the animators respect everyone ... More About: Review

However, it seems this is false as wolves have not disappeared but rather have taken human form. Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city, trying to sniff out the Lunar Flowers that are supposed to lead whoever follows the scent to paradise. The source of the smell is Cheza, a girl who sleeps in what appears to be suspended animation in a lab. She and the wolves are drawn to each other, and Kiba hopes to find paradise once he finds the source of the scent of Lunar Flowers. However, once Kiba finds Cheza, she is kidnapped by a mysterious person called Darcia, and his search begins anew. Before he leaves the city, he meets 3 other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. Wolf Rain Review
2008-04-10 16:20:00 Wolf’s Rain , in my opinion, is a great series. Very original and unique. But if one doesn’t get the symbolism behind the entire story, then it’s wasted time. You basically have five wolves on the search to find the ultimate utopia, paradise. Pretty nice objective don’t you think? I beleive that this is why so many anime fans tend to be drawn in by this series. Kiba, the main lone wolf, is our protagonist of the story. The key to paradise is the flower maiden named Cheza. I love how she has total empathy towards the wolves, and her connection/bond with Kiba is well played throughout the entire series. You have many troubles and distractions that arise during these series, and let’s not forget that Cheza only gets captured or kidnapped like six times! I do have to agree with many people, that the story tended to move very slowly. But if you can get pass the rhythm of the series, then I do believe it’s a worthwhile show. Animation: absolutely stunnin... More About: Review , Wolf
They are my noble Masters Review
2008-04-09 15:23:00 They Are My Noble Masters is a Harem, Ecchi, Romance, Comedy that pays more attention to its extremely ecchi fanservice rather than the actual romance or comedy. The series is about a brother and sister (Ren and Mihato) who ran away from home in order to start a new life together and after a turn of events, they end up working for a famous, rich Kuonji family consisting of 3 sisters (Shinra, Miyu and Yume). Surprisingly this anime has an underlining story to it but for the most pa…rt it is full of random mini stories/adventures that have little relation with each other. Each episode spends it’s time either focusing on a specific character or theme, usually involving Ren getting to know one of the girls, so the series never gets entirely boring however it becomes slightly dramatic later on. There are plenty of characters in this short series and each with their own unique personality. Nevertheless only a few of them seem to get plenty of attention, while the rest barely get ... Spice and Wolf Review
2008-04-06 09:59:00 Spice and Wolf is a Supernatural, Romance, Adventure anime set in a sort of fantasy, European, Medieval world. The story itself revolves around a young travelling merchant (Craft Lawrence), who encounters a legendary wolf god, in the appearance of a cute girl (Holo/Horo) and they end up travelling together. However for those expecting plenty of wolf action or full-on romance may be disappointed. Instead it basically follows their journey from town to town, helping each other on complex business …deals, whilst coming across major developments and dilemmas. Of course there are pockets of action & minor romantic developments but those don’t play much part until later on in the short series. Due to the nature of the story; the main characters don’t really stay at one place, so the series lacks recurring characters. But the Craft and Holo duo helps make up for the lack of characters, with their thought provoking and witty comments. Craft is a guy who’s usually so full of... More About: Review , Spice

Peace Maker Kurogane Review
2008-04-04 03:52:00 At first when I saw the title of this show, I expected something different, but when I got some info on it, I quickly felt like I have got to see this show since it is a samurai show which I love. The story to this is similar to Rurouni Kenshin, but there are the differences. First off, this is more from the point of view of the shinsengumi and their lives, and how they work. This show is not a 95 episode show, it is a 24 episode show. I have to admit the plot was very slow, but I think this is because they had to introduce some of the characters and develop them. The plot got really good after episode 16; it had the emotional moment when someone close to the people in the shinsengumi died, and everyone was very sad, especially the victim’s brother and the main characters. I found the scene where the main character(Tetsu) was mourning for his good friend along with the victim’s brother who was mourning mourning for his sister, to be the saddest scene in the whole show in... Shakugan no Shana Second Review
2008-04-02 12:05:00 For those of you who haven’t finished watching the first season..watch that first and come back and watch the second season. That way the story wll connect together and piece itself quite easily. (just a friendly reminder)! Shakugan no Shana II is a great anime to watch for those who wants action and some romance combined with it. Story revolves around the main characters Yuji, who is the male protagonist and is also the central character for the story’s development. He is a Myste…s, a dead sentient being who is kept alive with the power of existence (flame of life). He is also the most unusual of the characters (this is due to the special artifact inside him, the reiji maigo that replenishes his power of existence every midnight). With this ability he can rejuvenate his life-force, and still live as an ordinary citizen though he is actually dead in real-life. Shana, the female protagonist is also the main lead of the story and a kick-ass flame haze. (Flame Hazes ... More About: Review
Rosario + Vampire Review
2008-04-02 12:03:00 Rosario + Vampire is a typical Shounen, Supernatural, Harem, Romantic, Comedy about an average, human, high school boy (Tsukune) who couldn’t get into any private schools and was stuck going to a school for monsters. This may sound interesting but there’s nothing particularly special about this set-up, since it is just your average school Rom/Com but with monsters. What’s more is that each episode has some very predictable outcomes that get boring fast (monster appears, Moka tr…ansforms & sucks blood). So in the end, the weak and repetitive story turned this into a series that you can only enjoy once you turn off your brain. There’s nothing unique about the characters, seeing how it does the same old thing; by having yet another “loser-kun” male protagonist and surrounded by hot and cute girls. Their personalities usually match the way they look as well, so don’t expect anyone to really stand out in this series, except maybe Mizore (snow girl). The quality o... More About: Review , Rosario
True Tears
2008-04-02 12:01:00 True Tears is a fairly typical Slice of Life, Romance, Comedy, Drama based on an unusual theme (tears); nonetheless it’s just another “visual novel” – to – “anime adaptation”. From the beginning the story is pretty ordinary, for this type of anime, as it has a male protagonist (Shinichirou) and it introduces him, his surroundings and the heroines involved in the story (Noe, Hiromi & Aiko). However it is really difficult to tell what the story is enti…rely about or where it is headed, until things reach a certain point. That is when some major developments arise but it’s a shame that the series is almost half over by that point. Here we have the usual stock of high school boys and girls for characters and there’s nothing really particularly special about them. However a few of them have something unique about them that allows them stand out (Noe). But the character relations are what make the characters interesting because other than the simple-minded guy... More About: True , True Tears

Mahoromatic Review
2008-03-31 09:25:00 Animation: Being a couple years old, it is no surprise that the artwork is mostly hand-drawn. That’s not a negative in itself, but considering how the shows of today look along side it, its age is really apparent (especially compared to its sequel, Something More Beautiful). Other than that, the animation is really nice. Characters, backgrounds and objects are drawn with care and the action appears to be very fluid. (8/10) Characters: The cast size is pretty standard for anime. That makes it easy to keep track of and get to know the personalities of the majority of characters. The supporting cast also adds a lot to the story and does what they do best, support the main characters. Mahoro and Suguru are the focal-points of each episode and are enduring enough to keep the viewer’s attention throughout. (9/10) Music: Honestly, the opening song, “Kawasumi Ayako - Kaerimichi” doesn’t do much for me, but I suppose it’s alright. It doesn’t really f... More About: Review

Hanaukyo Maid Review
2008-03-30 01:35:00 It is hard to put a score on an anime like this one. On one hand, you have a lighthearted show full of fan service and hot anime babes that are always taking off their clothes. On the other hand, you have a show that is obviously poorly made and really lacks in the storyline, character development, and ends just as abruptly as it starts for no reason. If you are looking for a deep plot or something that will get you thinking, look in another direction. To be totally honest, Hanaukyo Maid Tai offers very little more than fan service. While many people enjoy this type of anime and will want to pick it up, the majority of us will head elsewhere and try to find something with more value to it. When it comes to character development, there is none. In fact, after fifteen episodes of setting up a story, it just stops. Perhaps there could be some kind of story if this series were longer, but with short episodes and a short season, there isn’t much room for development between all of ... More About: Review

Saiunkoku Monogatari Review
2008-03-29 06:18:00 Saiunkoku Monogatari or Tale of Saiunkoku is a wonderfully woven tale with a great story and excellent character development. Saiunkoku reminds me of ancient China with a political system that is much easier to understand. There are many stories in this tale. We have the lead character of Kou Shuurei and her coming of age story as well as the fulfillment of the start of her dream. We have Shi Seiran and his dark past which we come to know of as we journey in the Saiunkoku world. Then there is Shi Ryuuki, the great pretender who actually turns out to be a great emperor in the making. The many stories complement one another and support the overall story of this series. The characters that are introduced are all interesting and some of them loveable. They each had their distinct personalities. The opening song, Hajimari no Kaze is wonderful. I would repeatedly play the opening credits just to hear the song. The ending song was average until I watched the last episode. That is when I re... More About: Review
Peach Girl Review
2008-03-28 06:48:00 Having now seen all 25 episodes, I feel I can truly justify the high score I have given to Peach Girl ^_^ It’s romantic shoujo anime in it’s purest, undiluted form, meaning hard core angst! It’s a romantic rollercoater ride and for all fans of that genre of anime, this is a must watch! Animation: Beautiful animation. Bright vivid colours, wonderful backgrounds, everything is so well detailed, you could almost imagine yourself being there. The character design is very true to it’s original manga origins. Some people have complained about the characters full lips, but this is how Miwa Ueda envisioned her characters to look. You can’t complain about the ideas of the manga-ka *lol* The guys in this anime are soooooo good looking, the girls are pretty, but it’s not one of those anime where everyone looks the same and there aren’t any plain or dunpy characters, because there are!
