Pani Poni Dash is easily one of the best comedy anime I’ve ever watched. The background story is interesting but the “genius girl” thing has been done before. However, Pani Poni Dash takes an approach much different from other schoolkids anime like School Rumble and even Azumanga Daioh. Pani Poni Dash is chock full of fun parodies, cameos, and tidbits. You’d better have your finger over the pause button to read all the footnotes and references in Pani Poni Dash. Having watched the original black and white movie of this series did a lot of good in my appreciation of this anime. It started out slow but the build up was good and the addition of the merchant bit was a nice touch. Art/Animation>> 9 The mix of 2D and 3D were exceptionally good. The bandits, in their huge mech suits were awesome to behold. Though you tend to ask how come they get owned pretty easily. But that is not the point, the point is the art is good, the animation smooth and it’s a good thing. Story>> 9 It isn’t one of the most compelling plots out there but it’s a good plot nonetheless. Watching the original movie gave me an advantage on how to see things about the series. The addition of the merchants in the story was as I said a nice touch and added a little more conflict in an otherwise simple and bland story. haha Vandread No. 2 definitely is a treat. However, I still think that the first is still better than the second. Anyway, this is the second`s review. The story starts just from where the 1st left off with the few MEN in A SHIP FILLED WITH GIRLS… please don`t get the wrong idea, it’s not a hentai k? Kaleido Star is your very default “main character chases dream” anime, it’s just that these stories comes with different dreams but same character. Well, it wasn’t a bad style, it still sells well. The “dream” in this series is to become the best performer. Well, along the story it changes a bit here and there, but basically it’s the same thing. Then introducing out main character: Naegino Sora, it’s easy to guess what kind of character she’s like; enthusiastic, big dream, hardworking, determined, influential, etc. Then came the supporting characters. A friend who will support her, prince charming, the amazing star, the funny friend, etc. So what special about Kaleido Star? You know how some people need to be hit to snap them back into reality? Paranoia Agent takes it literally and uses a giddy kid with a bent gold bat to do the job. The individual stories are a wonder to behold as each story takes a dim view of humanity while maintaining a biting sense of humor. I truly enjoy this anime. The humor in this anime is wonderful. The first half of Paranoia Agent I thought is technically much better then the second half but the second half of the anime is far more creative and sardonic in its story. Each episode takes a serious situation like bullying, explores it, and then combines it with a wit I have not seen in an anime. Secondly the social message the anime is trying to deliver isn’t lost. For instance the boy who is getting bullied is running for school president. His election poster becomes vandalized. The graffiti, which is very amusing to look at, are done by the students but you hear in the background the source of their inspirations…...

This anime is simply incredible. I just finished watching it, and I cannot explain how much I love it. And how much more I was wanting to watch. I wanted to see if the relations were going to end or keep going, I wanted to watch more. I heard there is also the manga that keeps going after the anime, I’ll read it. This anime makes you laugh and cry, it makes you realize things about life and love. The music is so nice, background and intros and outros as well. I seldom watch shoujo-ai movies but this one really got my attention and got me into watching it and because that I watch the same episode 4 to 5 times a week, I think I could write a review.. story the story mostly takes place at Lillian girls high which is an all girl school. The show had everything, great animation, great music, and very fun and interesting characters. However the show lacked in the heaviest category for either a movie or a show, that is the plot. What would you do if a normal human girl that see’s you as a guy refered to you as an “alien”? Let’s see the plot started out very silly, guys and girls live in seperate planets, and they are enemies. Guys get into a new ship, the ship takes off, then they get attacked by the girls. Oh man did I like this anime. The reason I watched it aside from the fact that its popular and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about was mainly because my friend who doesn?t like anime as a whole told me this was amazing. Needless to say I wanted to be either quick to prove him wrong or quick to agree with him so here I am one show later or I?m definitely quick to agree. The plot is mind blowing. It can be mind bending too so watch out. Its very different from what I normally watch and it?s probably because the horror/mystery/power of the mind genre just doesn?t have too many super hits. How in the world was this anime never brought to light, thats what I want to know. This anime is truly the under dog of all animes out there no kidding! I can’t believe this series was actually a sleeper among us anime lovers. This series has one of the BEST character builds I have ever seen out of all the countless number of series I’ve sat through. The development of each individual is amazing and memorable. This series reminds me of “Lord of the Flies” if any of you read the book.
