You got hit by a car on Friday May 30th... - m4m - 40 (Murray Hill)
2008-06-07 00:01:00
...on park ave south and 33rd street. To say it was awful would sound trivial and I would doubt you're in shape or the mood to be perusing CL and I would doubt you're seeing this. But I was floored by your dignity and humor and I just want to know you're alright. If there's anything I can do please let me know.I like this one if only for the title. Genius. Should narrow down the search pool right? Totally.

really good and really quick, just give money to someone else at my expense without my knowledge and/or permission... this is me complaining. please don't come to my parties without my invitation. thank you. in the past, you had given me psychic tests while i am sleeping, which were very cruel and unethical. it's highly intense and exhaustive. 2x. i remember waking up with cold sweats once. scary. same yard stick applies to keanu doesn't apply to you, tom. i want as much as i can get from you, but i don't want any from keanu. he is a louzy gangster.. i was ready to forgive concerning my nephew. i really wish they (kr and/or his sucked up dogs) honor parents' decision. they didn't go to police and/or sue you. they don't want to negotiate with people like them. i don't want to see them pollute children by giving them pocket changes. they are corrupting children. i remeber ed/matthew hired a h.s. student to steal my underwear and eye glasses from my gym locker. michael told me ...

Netflix Review In A Minute: Thank You for Smoking
2008-06-06 20:41:00
Let me first take a completely vain and shallow moment by saying; Aaron Eckhart? Yum. He's one of those hot but not too hot/unattainable men. Now I'm even more motivated to see The Dark Knight, if that were even possible, as he plays Harvey "Future TwoFace" Dent. Yum.OK, back to the movie. I liked it. I thought it was a cute movie. I really feel it should be labeled a horror/comedy a la Shaun of the Dead, for while it was funny, it was eerie to see how suave a lobbyist can be. Eerie to realize that while this may be fiction, lobbyists no doubt actually view their work this way: trying to bring together to very opposing forces onto one agreeable platform (with blatant disregard to death).Katie Holmes unfortunately shows up to play a slutty, manipulative writer. Fortunately she's not given many lines, so she doesn't fuck up the movie too bad. Her character also gets what's coming to her for being such a shitty writer. This movie is packed with top notch actors: Rob Lowe, Adam Brod...

Top 10 Roseanne Episodes
2008-06-06 18:04:00
20 years ago, my favorite TV series came to life. I usually quote Roseanne more than any other film or TV show, so I thought I would end this week with a list of my Top 10 favorite episodes. Considering I own all nine seasons on DVD and have watched them more than I care to admit, I believe I've made a pretty comprehensive list.10. Tolerate Thy Neighbor: Roseanne's witnesses the Bowman's possessions being donated to (what she believes) charity while they're out of town. When they return they find their house has been robbed and are angered at Roseanne for letting it happen. My favorite moment would be the end of the episode where Cathy Bowman finally realizes she's in Lanford and no matter how much money she has, Roseanne will still reign supreme. It gets even funnier as Roseanne tempts Cathy to join her as one of "The Lanford Wives" a la The Stepford Wives and warns her she can't avoid it forever as her husband as already joined "The Lodge". 9. A Stash from the Past: Roseanne...

Netflix Review In A Minute: The Queen
2008-06-05 18:54:00
Wow. What an amazing movie. In my mind, seeing this film was like the witnessing Miranda and Carrie having a spat while shopping for vintage clothes in Sex and the City. You know the dialogue exists, but only now, do we finally get to hear what they were thinking about one another. As is the case with the Royal Family in The Queen .You can read all the tabloids you want, all the biographies of biographies of speculations, but it was nice to see a film try and show the war between tradition and modernizing and between God and ethics with pieces of stories and facts from multiple sources...not just one biased side.Helen Mirrin did a fantastic job as the Queen of England. I should hope so since she won the Oscar for Best Actress in this role. Mirrin's Queen was one of poise and great tradition. Her plight in this film was attempting to stay afloat after the news of Princess Diana's death. Her belief was that, the monarchy has stood the test of time and no matter what comes and goes in...

Voyeuristic Kombat

Mortal Kombat - Finish Him on FunnyOrDie.comBrought to you by the people at Funny or Die, here's a fresh take at Mortal Kombat. As Sub Zero is about to finish off Liu Kang, the god-like voice from above that maybe there's more to decapitating in life such as bathing someone or making out with their near-dead body...or even smelling them. This is pretty much like I used to imagine the game when I was a little closeted gay boy playing Mortal Kombat or Streets of Rage back in the day.[SOURCE]
Kabbalah on Pain: How to Use It to Lose It
2008-06-04 18:39:00
Another good Kabbalah for beginners book. Like the rest of the books from the Technology for the Soul series, this one directs are attention back to our egos in hopes of learning how to truly defeat the pain in our lives. The idea is brought up that there are two forms of pain in this world:1. Pain in our ego which lasts a short while.2. Pain in our body or soul that lasts a lifetime. There are also two forms of pleasure in this world:1. Pleasure for our ego, which lasts but a short while2. Pleasure for our body or soul that lasts a lifetime. The book focuses on getting the reader to admit they have an ego problem. That there is a part of them that is selfish. Sounds relatively easy, but 99% of us have a problem admitting most of our daily actions are selfish. AFTER we admit that, then we can begin the true war on our ego. Like many other books in the series, this one also expresses how important it is we have our ego, but that we must learn to control it and not the other way around.A...

Happy Hump Day!
2008-06-04 17:55:00
Looking at the calendar, it looks like my weeks of 4 or 3 day work weeks is over for quite some time. It was nice while it lasted. I will admit it'll save me some of my electricity bill with me being at work more than I am at home cooling in the air conditioning. This past weekend was alright. Friday night I went out and had a couple drinks around Hells Kitchen...which is also what I did on Saturday night. During the day on Saturday, I got up and caught the 1pm showing of Sex and the City The Movie (I highly suggest all fans see this film). I saw it in Queens which was good seeing as how I got to avoid most of the tourists and Scary Sadshaw wannabes. The theater was pretty empty. Afterwards I went shopping around 59th and Lex and got my new favorite pair of shoes at Diesel. They're rather odd looking boot-esque shoes...and I love them. Ugh. I didn't think love was possible until I found these shoes. Afterwards I got some cute shirts at H&M and called it a day. Well my bank account...

Damn. I new that this craigslist posting had to be too good to be true...but the pics of the apartment weren't really that flattering or upscale-looking, so I had a tiny glimmer of hope that the ad was real. It wasn't. Poor Zindzi, like the rest of New York, is forced to move with their spouse and imaginary child. Damn the man. And damn the con artists in Nigeria."Hello once again i am Rev.Zindzi Clifton I own the 1 bedroom apartment @ 1420 York Avenue,New York NY 10021 and i also want you to know that it was due to my transfer that makes me my wife and Son to leave the house and also want to give it out for rent we are looking for a responsible person that can take very good care of it as if it were his/her own,we are not after the money for the rent but we want it to be clean at all time and the person that will rent it to take it as if it were his/her own.If you are still interested, Note that the rent is going to be $700 No extra fees.I will like you to give me a call on this ...

Kabbalah on Green: Consciousness and the Environment
2008-06-03 03:12:00
A new installment in the Technology for the Soul mini-book series. The newest of the series if not for being the most topical. I liked the book, it takes a different approach to the term "green". The book, instead of focusing on rules like turning the light off when you leave a room or separate your plastics from your garbage, focuses on "greening" up the Earth and not necessarily cleaning up the Earth. There are 3 zones of giving:The red zone: where some gives to the community as a whole in hopes that their efforts will repay them. The consciousness of expecting to get paid back for your hard work feeds your ego and taints the act of giving you make. The white zone: the most righteous of givers. They give and give and give without taking, therefore what it boils down to is a never ending unloading onto the rest of the world. The green zone: the perfect balance and what we need to all achieve. Where you give enough to the community for the pure sake of sharing, but you also receiving i...

Netflix Review In A Minute: The Number 23
2008-06-02 16:44:00
Jim Carrey plays Walter Sparrow, an animal control worker who's wife gives me a book called The Number 23 , written by Topsy Ekkrets (aka Top Secrets). The book follows a detective by the name of "Fingerling", as he solves crimes and has violent sex with a luscious Italian woman. Walter begins to realize that the book almost parallels his life but there are some holes that don't match up. Then the book lays down the idea of the 23 Enigma: that everything in the world, can somehow be traced back to the number 23. Walter goes crazy trying to figure out who wrote the book in hopes it will stop his obsession with the number. The movie is a thriller, so I wasn't really scary. In fact most of the interesting or thrilling moments happen in the book. In the real world, Walter is very plain and somewhat boring up until the last 10 minutes of the movie. I liked Carrey in this. People always harp on him acting in serious acting roles, and ever since The Truman Show, I knew he had the ability ...

I have no idea what the hell I just watched. I remember way back in the day, when Brad Pitt was attached to this film. I guess he pulled out and years later Hugh Jackman picked up the role. I sympathize with Pitt as this film is a piece of hot mess crap. We're led to believe that Tom and Izzy's love spans a millennium in three different time periods. OK. I can kind of get on board with that. But then you learn that Izzy is writing a book and that the Spanish Conquistador storyline is part of her book. So...then are we not supposed to think that in another life these characters were together? That it's just Izzy's creation? Or does Izzy know that in another life they were lovers. The presence of Izzy's book just confuses everything.I guess the main point of the movie is to teach Hugh about accepting life and death as an inevitability. Unfortunately the film seems more focused on looking cool than actually making sense. You jump through time to different versions of the characters...

Sex and the City: The Movie
2008-06-01 21:20:00
I'm just going to come right out the gate and say I loved this movie. Not that there weren't flaws to the film, but if you honestly expect to go to a big screen adaptation of the popular HBO show and see some kind of Citizen Kane classic you need to have your head examined. It's fluff, eye candy-packed summer film. The plots seem to follow more of what the writers think the fans want and not concerning how the characters have evolved in 4 years. The film borders on becoming a caricature of itself, but it's still fun to watch as a new installment in the character's lives.First off, I went on Saturday at one so as to avoid cosmo fueled tourists. The usual suspects were there: girls in foursomes and the handful of eye-rolling boyfriends. Poor Charlotte got the short end of the stick. After pretty much tying up her story at the series finale...you find that 4 years later, not much has changed. Her role in this film is to be the one girl in the foursome that is the most balanced. Wi...

Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
2008-06-01 21:17:00
The number one statement we need to understand this week is, we are not our bodies - we are only our soul. What's the body here for, you ask? It's the car on the road trip of life. It's the vehicle that allows us to do good actions in the world and to be a conduit for revealing positive energy. The body is a temporary means to an end. I think all of us have had those middle-of-the-night epiphanies, where we realize the depth of this statement. But it's hard to keep in our minds, and we all fall into caring what people think about us ? good or bad ? and we obsess over our reflection in the mirror. The Baal Shem Tov, a Kabbalist who lived and taught in the 18th century, reminded his students to always feel they are only soul. Yes, the body is a temple, and it's important to care for and respect it. But again, we have to reclaim our territory and care of our soul. How? Well, for starters, the soul needs to be fed. What does our soul eat? Energy, of course. The energy feeding our soul ...

We Have A Tea Bag Situation
2008-05-29 23:37:00
So the Sex and the City movie site has a quiz where you can match your man with one of the gentlemen from the show. Well...given I am currently a swinging bachelor, I completed the quiz hypothetically and Harry was my result.Thank. God. I love Harry. I think he came into the show strong and ended up strong with Charlotte. I used to feel that way about Steve but then Steve and Miranda pulled a couple Ross & Rachels and then the whole idea in the movie that Steve isn't being faithful...so now it's team Harry. I was worried, as I answered the questions, that Berger was going to show up on my plate. Fortunately I don't have to tell him "I'm just not that into you". I wonder if Skipper is an answer on the quiz.Take the quiz HERE.

So apparently there's some lame ass fight club type shenanigans going on in Union Square outside of Whole Foods. I don't really care to see jackasses hurt themselves for fun, but it's funny when it's two girl jeans wearing hipster boys...no doubt fighting over a hair straightener. Though I wouldn't call it fighting...Also, my dad totally rolls into the middle of their fight in an office chair. Awkward!

I love weeks that start on Tuesday...cause that means it's already Hump Day! Thank god. I've been feeling out of it lately. Not sick. Out of it. Like the new exposure to so much sun is frying my fragile little mind.Let's see...Friday, I was exhausted/getting over my head cold/sinus thing so I stayed in. I had dinner and then crawled into bed at 8:30. Watched a couple episodes of The Office and I fell asleep around 10:30. What a rocking Friday.Saturday was gorgeous, so I had to get out of the house. I put on some shorts and my cute new shoes and walked all over the city. I was hoping to put a dent in my bank account with some new clothes, but nothing struck my fancy. And stupid me, I didn't wear socks with my new shoes and because I was walking so much, it literally gnarled my feet to the bone. It's still healing. Saturday night I went out to Therapy and sat down at a booth. I was still somewhat sick, but I was generally feeling good about myself. Then out of the blue 3 gay ass ...

My Super Sweet Funeral
2008-05-27 16:28:00
I admit I used to be addicted to the MTV show My Super Sweet 16...until I realized every episode was the same. Some slutty 15 year-old who watches way too much Sex and the City usually gets a car, several costume changes, and a nice big argument with her parents. Then I started my current job in an office shared with the post production team for the show and after hearing the show blasting out of their edit rooms for the past 7 months, I've decided to give up on the show. Do you know how annoying it is to hear "sweet sixteen" with the little diamond shimmer sound effect literally 50 times in a row in under a minute? It's fucking annoying. But here is a funny parody of the next stage in Super Sweet 16...A super sweet funeral. I hesitate to give MTV any more ideas seeing as how this is a show they would seriously make...in the mean time though, it's pretty funny.

Netflix Review In A Minute: Fat Actress
2008-05-25 19:30:00
I may hate Scientology and it's cult members, but I really liked Fat Actress ...and it's entire one and only season before it got the axe. I seem to be on a real self deprecating high, because I love the concept of the show: Kirstie plays a mock of herself as a fat actress trying to get back on television. It's kind of like The Comeback, but not a documentary. In fact, I think those two shows aired roughly around the same dates. The main arch of the seven episode season is Kirstie attempting to lose weight so she can fuck Kid Rock. I love the obscurity of picking Kid Rock. I'd understand if they chose him because...well...what else does he have going on and could easily be used in each episode, but he's only in one episode...so I'm not entirely sure why he was chosen.Like Will & Grace towards the end of the series, Kirstie whips out the celebrity cameos left and right, to the point of obnoxiousness. John Travolta helps out in the pilot episode and his psycho wife plays Kirstie'...

When the Israelites were wandering in the desert post-Egypt, it is written that they followed the cloud of honor; literally a cloud that showed them where to go, when to go, and when to stop. Nice. Too bad we don't have a cloud showing us the way to go in our lives.Well, we do. Not a cloud per se, but more like messages, signs. Have you ever had one of those "message" moments, something a friend said, a passage you randomly opened up to in a book, a piece of paper that just couldn't stay in the trash? We have to realize we receive divine guidance on a constant basis; we only need learn how to listen.I read somewhere we only hear 8% of what is said to us. 8%! What do we do with the other 92%? In order to grow spiritually, and to receive the guidance as to the best moves to make, we want to commit to listening to everyone, no matter how boring, no matter how much we disagree. You never know when the cosmos is trying to get a message through to you.It can be a very tough pill to swall...

Top 10 Best Episodes of Sex and the City
2008-05-23 18:42:00
With the Sex and the City movie fast approaching, I thought I'd look back at the series as so many people are doing, and pick my top 10 favorite episodes. I loved the series finale, but I left it out of this count down, as I didn't find it fair to pick an episode that wraps every thing up so neatly. 10. I Love A Charade: The only episode from season five I actually like. Carrie scares Berger away with her ramblings...which should be forgiven since she's so freakin' pregnant in this episode. Miranda diddles her baby daddy and then flees town but gets scared into trying to win him back (which sets up her season six arch). Charlotte gets wooed by an adorable Harry but learns she has to be one of the chosen people. Miranda breaks a window with her fake boob cantaloupes. The wedding is the most beautiful part and the girls look gorgeous.9. Cock a Doodle Do!: Miranda and Carrie finally throw down. Miranda gets called out for being too judgmental and Carrie gets called out for being we...
