Kerri and Jason Brown discovered a secret room behind a bookcase containing a homeowner's worst nightmare — mold. Also in the room was a handwritten note: "You found it!" What the Browns found was a mold problem so serious the previous owner was forced to move, according to the note.Fearing their young daughter's health, the Browns hired an environmental engineer who detected high levels of several types of mold, including a black mold fungus called Stachybotrys."It terrified me," Kerri Brown told WYFF-TV in Greenville. "I had heard reports of what it does for children, and I was terrified."The Browns said a home inspection done before they bought it did not include a mold test.The Browns filed a lawsuit claiming Century 21 Flynn & Youngblood, real estate agent Sue Bakx and Fannie Mae knew about the mold.Fannie Mae, the Federal National Mortgage Association, bought the Brown's home for $75,000 and will be dropped from the lawsuit. A mother cremated a body she thought was that of her dead son, only for him to turn up alive later, police said on Friday.Gina Partington's 37-year-old son Thomas Dennison was reported missing last month and a body was found in Rusholme, Manchester, three days later.The 58-year-old mother, from Urmston, Greater Manchester, formally identified the body as that of her son and, following an inquest, the body was cremated on October 30.But police had actually found Dennison, living rough in Nottingham, four days earlier.The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission to discover why Partington was not told of her son's discovery in the days before she attended the cremation.Inquiries are continuing to formally establish the identity of the body, but Greater Manchester police said they believe they know who he is.Next of kin have been informed.Police said in a statement: "This set of circumstances is clearly distressing and urgent inquiries are ongoing to est...

Mozilla Chief Technology Officer Brendan Eich and Microsoft 's Chris Wilson are trading heated rhetoric over the proposed next version of ECMAScript, better known as JavaScript.Microsoft is quibbling with the ECMAScript Edition 4 effort, which is supported by Mozilla, maker of the Firefox browser. "As I've frequently spoken about publicly, compatibility with the current web ecosystem -- not 'breaking the Web' -- is something we take very seriously," Wilson wrote on the Internet Explorer team blog this week. "In our opinion, a revolution in ECMAScript would be best done with an entirely new language, so we could continue supporting existing users as well as freeing the new language from constraints."Eich is the creator of JavaScript, a programming language that has become a bedrock Internet technology, helping drive much of the rich content and information now common on the Web.
