We have our own Jericho page at http://tvmegasite.net/prime/shows/jericho / So check it out! I hope everyone had a great holiday. We have had a lot of volunteers go missing, so I apologize if you looked for something that we normally have, such as our Y&R updates, and they weren't there. That's just what happens this time of year...people get sick, or they quit, or they go out of town. Otherwise things are going super! We have been fixing up our primetime section, so we have tons of news and spoilers on our primetime section, and even new polls! I hope you can check it out. 2008-06-03 15:27:00 Lots of stuff going on lately with our site! Our sites were down for about a day and a half this week when some electrical broke out in the building where our servers are housed! The servers were fine, but they had to wait for the fire department to give them the OK to turn on the power. It's okay, it gave me a nice break from work :)So if you're wondering why all of our soap stuff was late this week, that's probably why. I still have lots of screencaps from last week to put up in our updates. I am sick with a cold, so it will probably be a few days before I get caught up.We still really need some new writers for our updates! That has not changed. We have a new Content Manager for our Y&R section, Sandy, so that will be great! I hope you have noticed that our site is loading faster than it used to...we took off the animated GIF's and put up single-loading pics instead. 2008-04-22 22:00:00 I finally did some posting for more help this week! Got more to do, it takes a while. I got the stupidest email from soaps.com I went to all of the trouble to read their stupid rules about posting on their forums, and it said "no links to your site", so I made sure not to put any links, as I generally do, even in my signature. I just put my name, TV MegaSite, and then 'we need help" - this was my signature and I made my comments on their forum. So they consider this "advertising" even though there was no link and I made comments about the shows, not just posting for help. Someone there is a control freak because they have more rules than I have ever seen on any board! Their email was very snarky, too. Anyway, I hope we get some more help soon....we sure need it!! Next Monday we start Phase One of our site's new design etc. I can't wait. 2008-04-15 22:19:00 I am so lame at keeping this blog up... Our site is about to start preliminary work on getting a new design! Yay!! It will be a design that loads much faster, has very few ads, and will be much easier for us to edit. Right now we use Microsoft Frontpage, but our future site will use a Content Management System, which is much easier. We might also have some sort of Wiki-type thing so people can post stuff on the site. We still have all of our volunteers, though, and need more....I have been almost as bad writing the Y&R updates as writing in this blog, but I hope to catch up sometime this week (at least on the past two weeks' worth). We have a new B&B writer, so that's a good start. We need a new Guiding Light recap writer as well. Jenni, our Days of Our Lives update writer, just took over the Days recaps as well, which helps out Danielle, leaving her more time for the Primetime Forum and Days of Our Lives Best Lines. 2008-02-25 23:42:00 Our site is still doing very well! But we are having problems getting more volunteers lately, and we have lost a lot. I don't know why, but it's a darn shame.I posted around a lot for help this week; I need to do more. I hope we get some new good volunteers!We have a new section of our site devoted to the comedy-drama "Boston Legal". It still needs some work, but there's some great stuff there so far.I am still waiting on our "angel investor" to partner with me and help redesign and promote the site. Cross your fingers for me! He is an honest person, just busy.I'm so glad the writer's strike is over! But in some ways I'm wondering if it was not long enough...I don't think the networks really learned much about how people were sick of reality shows. Well, hopefully it will not be a big disaster in that sense. I worry that they did not really do their research. 2008-02-09 17:13:00 Each month we have Volunteer of the Month. In January it was Jeannie, who writes some of our One Life to Live updates. I love the VOM and wish I could pick everyone! But there's only 12 months per year and we have a lot of volunteers! Each volunteer usually gets a certificate in the mail and either a check, cash or gift certificate. Usually I choose VOM based on how reliable the person is. Do they turn their work in regularly? Do they let us know when they can't? Do they check the forum like they're supposed to? Are they "difficult"? etc.The site is going well, but I need to go post for more help. I really hate doing this, but it has to be done. I have to post around on soap opera message boards, forums, and mailing lists, to ask for more volunteers to write recaps (actually it's for our updates, which are the detailed recaps). Not only does she play the great and menacing Helena Cassadine on GH, but she guest-starred on The 4400 this past summer, and she has a long and interesting career in movies, stage, and television, not to mention that she is married to former Actor John Gavin, who was also our former ambassador to Mexico! Whew! So she's a very interesting lady.We should be getting more GH interviews soon!Our site is going really well right now. I just wish more people would enter our contest. It's a drawing we do every month, where I pick two winners. Then they get to pick their prize from the list. I have tons and tons of DVD's and some other prizes like books, cd's, t-shirts etc. But for some weird reason, fewer and fewer people enter. I will post the links here when they are up. Make sure you check out our contests page as there are lots of TV-related contest there, not the least of which is our monthly DVD giveaway contest! I have a big closet almost literally bulging with DVD's and other stuff to give away. Warner Brothers and other companies send me them almost daily!! So please enter because we don't have that many people entering any more. We used to have thousands enter but for some reason, we get less than 100 now. It's pretty sad when I can't even give away DVD's! And they are mostly good ones, too, not lame-o ones. :) I hope you are not all too busy planning for Thanksgiving to visit our site! 2007-11-12 02:44:00 I guess I'd better post before the writer's strike leaves me nothing to talk about. Yeah, right, like that would ever happen (me having nothing to say). Ha! I'm so grateful for all our many wonderful volunteers. Fran, one of our few proofreaders, is also now sending out our All My Children scoops newsletters for me on the weekend, and that is such a great help because there are so many of those and they all have to be done on Sunday night! Now I only have to do GH, OLTL and the CBS Soaps one. Maybe one day I will find someone else to do those! Sadly, one of our long-time transcript proofreaders, Brandi, is leaving us, so we need someone else to proof the One Life to Live transcripts. It's not hard...if anyone wants to do it, please let me know via email! We try to only have original writing on our site...sometimes our writers (not very many, thankfully!!) get lazy and take material from other sites. 2007-10-30 21:48:00 Our site is doing SO well! We have a link partnership now with TV Guide Online! Woo hoo! We have a Volunteer of the Month. This month is Mary!! She writes our episode guides for Jericho, and our recaps for All My Children and One Life to Live. All of our volunteers are great...we always need more, though! Please visit our Jobs page if you can help out. These are all volunteer jobs - we have no money! The holidays are coming, which means that I will be sending out cards and gift certificates for the holidays to our volunteers. I love doing that! I have a ton of DVD's to watch and review soon...it's great that they send me some great stuff, but I wish I had more time to appreciate them. I updated my "What I watch" page, which I do semi-annually. It lists all of the shows I keep up with regularly. I also record a lot of shows and put them onto tape, and I may watch them later. 2007-10-03 16:52:00 Some exciting stuff is about to happen on our site...so stay tuned! We may get a whole new design by next year, with a more professional look.It's been great for me this week because Boo is back and helping to put stuff up etc. She never really left but cut down her hours drastically. So it's great to have a lot more help now! I can start to get caught up on things.I have tons of updates to write, and some Passions transcripts as well. DirecTV is showing Passions now instead of NBC, but they don't close-caption it. So I am having someone tape the shows for me, and I'm doing the transcripts by hand. But it's slow going and very tedious. At least they are showing them online now, so people who don't have DirecTV can see them.It looks like we should soon have our "What's New" script!! 2007-09-20 09:19:00 I haven't been updating this blog for a while...very bad on my part! I will go back to trying to do it at least weekly. Make sure to check out our new primetime schedule!! Our site has been busy this summer. We always have a big turnover because people go on vacation, graduate, retire, etc. We have a good solid crew right now, though! We just always need more help! Things are going swimmingly for all of us on the site! We have new ads, lots of great content, and everything is doing well! Thane is doing awesomely as our new Volunteer Manager. Boo is coming back and may take over the primetime section or something else. Gisele is still doing really super as our daytime manager! I'm hoping we will soon have all the daytime soaps covered for a long while! We just need someone to do GH, Y&R and Passions on certain days... 2007-08-08 12:36:00 Entry for August 08, 2007 I haven't updated this in a while because of a lot of traveling. I'm home now for a few months! The site is still plugging along and doing well. We need a new writer for Y&R updates, but otherwise we are covered pretty well. We have big news coming up....we are going to be hiring someone to redesign the site, make a "beta" version of the site, and implement a Content Management System. A CMS means that people will be able to upload articles and stuff without us having to use Frontpage to put everything up manually. That will be a huge help. A new and professional design will make everything look great, and then we will also go more into promoting the site. Things are going great! John, who helped us many times before with setting up menus and tons of other things, is going to help me with this script. 2007-07-05 23:43:00 Wow, I typed this a few days ago and then forgot to post it. Oops! I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July! OUR SITE We have people on our daytime site that every day run transcripts, and people who proofread the transcripts, and people who write updates and recaps, and people who write weekly or monthly articles, and others who choose the funniest quotes of the day. So I hope you can check out that section! We redesigned our Peyton List site (and still working on it a little bit but it's mostly done). It's at http://peytonlist.net She is a very popular actress, even though she is no longer on As The World Turns. It really needed a new design! We just figured out that the guestbook was not working, so we are working on fixing that and it should be done this week. We also have been updating the Agim Kaba website a bit. 2007-07-03 07:39:00 I haven't been able to write here for a while...I have been either sick, or traveling, or working hard on the site...and there are only so many hours in the day, it turns out :)I have found a script that will help tell which pages have been updated recently. However, I know nothing about scripts. So I'm looking for someone to help me put it in our site.Today I put up a 4th of July graphic. I loved those sparkly things.This summer has been hard on our site because so many of our writers have quit or gone on vacation! And I need someone else to help me run this site....And more update writers. I am having to write both OLTL and Y&R right now, which puts me behind everything. SIGH!!We are getting lots of good new volunteers, though, who have been helping me with picking up the slack! Our wonderful AMC update writers Linda and Bonnit took over the other two days we needed. 2007-06-15 05:51:00 It has really been a busy week! I posted around a lot for new help. We have a bunch of new volunteers to write updates. We still need more, though!There has been so much Jericho news, so I posted a lot of that on our site, and links to articles. We have all the Jericho summaries done, too, so our episode guide is complete! I hope we can get all of our episode guides done one day...I have been catching up on writing tons of missing updates and recaps, including one Jericho summary, some OLTL and ATWT. I still have some GL to do and tons of GH to finish, as well as old AMC and OLTL recaps to replace the ones from that one lady that stole them off abc.com :( I am having to write Y&R updates every day as well so that takes a lot of time.Boo is back so we are keeping better track of our volunteers and what they do. 2007-06-09 17:49:00 In the last few days I ran transcripts, put a bunch up. posted all over the web to look for more update writers for GH and OLTL, and answered email. I had a couple of volunteers so far for GH. I still haven't heard from Boo yet, but I will probably phone her later today. Mostly I've just been dealing with the shortage of update writers. I will probably write some much-needed updates or recaps later today, and I still need to post for more help for AMC and Passions. Oh, and we have a new ad from K-Mart that I put up. They have a contest and one of the prizes is the Circle of Life bracelet that was worn on General Hospital. Also, I got new check in the mail for a fairly ad company, so that made me happy. It's always nice to get money you don't expect! The ads are from Kontera. I got my tapes from the week or so we were gone, so got all caught up on primetime shows, and now I am catching up on Y&R. 2007-06-08 15:48:00 I finished making the new pages for this week....I also sent out our newsletters. We have the soap ones that are sent out weekly, plus I did the scifi news and joke ones. I also saved some info from the Jericho and Veronica Mars sites, just in case they take them down. I also did email and transcripts. I have to start posting for more help on our site.We really need some new update writers for GH, OLTL and Passions!! If you watch these shows and can help us out, let me know!!Boo is having computer problems, so I have not had as much help as usual.Otherwise I have watched a lot of TV this week. I got my tapes from when we were gone, so I got caught up on all of the primetime shows.There were some really shocking season finales. The most shocking probably was Numb3rs. One of the major characters on the show, a real straight A guy, was found to be a spy for the Chinese!! The only way for them to fix this is to make him a double agent.
