Blog of the Week
2007-12-05 02:25:00
This week my featured blog is one so good they made it into a television show starring Billie Piper. Of course I am talking about Belle De Jour - diary of a London Call girl. This blog is well written, funny, sad, heck it runs the entire gambit of the emotional universe... how true it is though is debatable, but personally I like to believe it is 100% genuine, but then that is what fantasy are for!Check it out, I promise you will not be disappointed!

T5M.Com
2007-12-02 04:03:00
A new online video service powered by Microsoft and backed by some British Internet entrepreneurs launched in beta today. The service is called t5m.com and hopes to produce "socially conscious" video content. They have described YouTube as the online equivalent of a tabloid newspaper, where as this service hopes to be the online equivalent of a highbrow glossy magazine like Vanity Fair. When I learned about this earlier today I went and checked it out, and well it ain't great! The videos look great and are well made, but as of yet there is not a lot of them. Also you have to download a piece of Microsoft software to get them to run, which I don't like. That is not to say I have anything against Microsoft, I just hate adding software to my already crowded hard drive, even if it is only 1.34mb.My biggest grip I have with the service though it the actual content. I watched about a dozen videos on there and they were all boring. But I digress, I won't write off the service just yet as ...

The good people at Leonard Cheshire Disability have teamed up with those geniuses of plasticine art, Aardman Animations to produce a series of ads to change people's perceptions of the disabled. The ads are a spin-off of Aardman's cult classic, Creature Comforts , and have been titled Creature Discomforts, and as most Aardman films are, they are fantastic. If you have time or want to learn more visit http://www.creaturediscomforts.org/, now sit back and enjoy the ads...

The World Clock
2007-11-29 11:06:00
The number of Karl Pilkington sites was not as great as I anticipated, so I won't be as boring as to post links to his Wikipedia entry or X-FM biography, instead I shall present you with this amazing clock. The Earth Clock is just what it sounds like, a clock. It shows you the time, but it also shows you interesting things like the current world population, number of barrels of oil pumped, the amount of oil left, even when the oil will run out. It also shows you things like the current earth temperature, and many other interesting things about our planet. Also if you wish it easy to link to the clock and add it to your site!Poodwaddle.com

Today's video is the now semi-famous KarlToon from the Culture show. Now referring to a cartoon from the mind of Karl Pilkington as "culture" might be stretching it a bit, but the cartoon is still very amusing.

Pilkipedia
2007-11-28 11:57:00
Here is the ultimate in fan sites... Pilkipedia is a Wikipedia clone site dedicated to the wisdom of Karl Pilkington . His other two hangers-on, Steven Merchant and Ricky Gervais are there too, but really this site is all about Karl. You will find video, podcasts, links to all of the known Karl Pilkington sites, and of course a shop... what fan site would be complete without a shop! It is a really attractive and easy to navigate site, and earlier this year Ricky Gervais said that Pilkipedia is his favorite site on the internet!

Karl Pilkington
2007-11-27 11:42:00
This week I am going to focus on all things Karl Pilkington . So what better place to start then Karl's very own website, KarlPilkington.com. Now anyone who knows anything about Karl Pilkington knows that he ain't the brightest spark on the planet, so taking this into consideration we must assume that someone else made his website. The site is pretty cool looking with lots of little animated menus leading to the usual stuff you find on someone's website who is semi-famous. There is a link to his podcasts, which are hilarious, a game, and a link to buy his book. It is a fantastic place though to start searching the hilarious mind of Karl Pilkington!

Blog of the Week
2007-11-26 01:42:00
I have decided that every week now I would highlight another wonderful blog out there in the Blog osphere. I know I have reviewed blogs before, but until now it has not been a regular feature here... so now it is!!This week my pick is for the wonderful and very useful blog, Blogger for Dummies. It is not the most attractive blog out there, in fact it is a bit messy to say the least. It has advertisements, and things to click to contact the author, and various other bits and pieces all over it. They do say though that a messy desk is the sign of genius, perhaps the same thing goes for blogs, because once you get into the content you find that the creator of this blog is very knowledgeable of all things related to Blogger. So if you are having some trouble with your blog and can't find the answer in the Help files for Blogger, then check out this very useful blog. It is easy to navigate and contains a wealth of knowledge to help you solve almost any question.

More stuff to watch
2007-11-23 11:27:00
Continuing my search of cyberspace for things to watch when the new programming on TV dries up because of the writers strike, I have found this wonderful Four Docs mini-site within the Channel 4 website. It is filled with four minute documentaries on an array of topics. And if you make your own documentary, you can register on the site and upload it. The site features enough material to keep you entertained for hours.

Hollywood Writers Strike Update
2007-11-22 10:49:00
Now that the Hollywood writers strike is in full bloom, and new and original content will soon dry up on American TV, Americans will soon have to seek alternative content to keep them entertained. Perhaps they could turn to YouTube for their daily fix of visual stimulation. Well for the time being I guess, but not if Viacom had their way. Please watch this short video for a further explanation of the strike and Viacom's plan to sue YouTube for $1,000,000,000... yes that says A BILLION DOLLARS!

Cyberspace News
2007-11-22 01:56:00
If you use Google 's free email service Gmail, or as it is called here in Britain Googlemail there is good news for you. Google has increased storage to over 4GB for their online correspondence, and since Gmail is very good at filtering spam, that is quite a bit of space! Google also have promised in the past that the amount of storage is going to continue to increase. However, if 4.4 GB is not enough for you, Windows Live Hotmail now offers 5 GB of storage space, and Yahoo ! Mail (which I use with much satisfaction) has unlimited storage space.

Netvibes
2007-11-22 01:24:00
Recently, I decided to change my homepage to something that I can personalise with links and bits and bobs I use in cyberspace on a regular basis. The first I used was the first I found, My Yahoo !, which was OK, but it was ugly and did not have the content I really wanted. Also, I have a personal beef against Yahoo! that I won't get into. The second I tried was iGoogle which was far better then My Yahoo!, but there was something about the themes that put me off, and it was a bit slow to load. Other then that though it is a pretty nifty page. There are loads of widgets to add, and has a direct link to the Google search engine (the best search engine in the Cyberspace universe.)Yet, I kept searching, and I found what I think will be my homepage for years to come. Netvibes is not only easy to use, it also loads very quickly with all my bits and bobs and it looks Fantastic! Netvibes also ties together all the big sites, it has not only the Google search engine, it also has Yahoo!, Ask a...

Atom Films

As the writers strike looms on, and the prospect of not having anything new to watch on television worsens, I continue my search to find things for you Americans to watch in Cyberspace. The wonderful site Atom Films has been around some time now and offers a plethora of fantastic short films to watch. There is every genre you could think of, as well as music videos. Atom Films has also recently added the ability for you to add your own content. The quality is top notch to say the least, and many of the films are not only made by established directors, but also feature actors that you know and love. It is very easy to navigate the site, and the videos are conveniently organised into categories and channels, so finding something that suits your tastes is easy as pie... or is that pi, I have never known. This is how the site describes itself:Since 1998, AtomFilms has evolved from an online video pioneer into one of the world's leading brands for independent entertainment. For viewers, our...

New in the giant cyberspace monster that is the Facebook social networking site is the ability to create a page for your band or organisation. The good people at Facebook stole the idea obviously from MySpace which has thousands of band pages, but hey, what's a bit of competition between friends? For us non-artistic types you can search out the bands, and well I am not sure... I assume listen to their music and tell them how much you love their groovy tunes. The reason I am not sure is I searched and searched but have yet to find any band I like. I am sure though there will be hundreds very soon, so I shall update you, if and when I find any.
