Rose McGowan confirma que será la nueva ?Barbarella?

Desde principios del pasado otoño, nada nuevo se sabía del remake que Universal Pictures quiere sacar adelante de ?Barbarella ? y cuyo realizador será Robert Rodriguez. Esta producción ha atravesado no pocos problemas, comenzando por su presupuesto, que el estudio no quería que sobrepasase los 60 millones de dólares pero que su director había elevado a más de 80. También fue polémica la aparición en la Red del nombre de su posible protagonista: Rose McGowan (?Planet terror?, ?Death proof?, ?La Dalia Negra?, la serie de televisión ?Embrujadas?). Rose McGowan Says Barbarella Still Moving Forward

It was only last October when we wrote about the Barbarella Fiasco: Robert Rodriguez vs Universal. Sin City and Planet Terror director Robert Rodriguez had been slated to remake the sexy 1968 classic Barbarella and had cast his own girlfriend Rose McGowan in it. Our report said that this casting decision, plus a skyrocketing budget that was pushing $100 million, had caused Universal to back out of their initial agreements and thus the project had hit a wall. Now five months later, McGowan not only denies that any of that was true to begin with, but says the Barbarella remake is actually still on track to be made this year. Well yeeehaaaawww! It?s the Zombie Stripper s! As some of you know, I had a chance to see Zombie Strippers last week and I can tell you that as dumb as it is, it does give you plenty of Zombies, plenty of Strippers stripping, and even a couple of decent laughs along the way. Would I call it a ?good? movie? No. But the film is what it is. If nothing else, it is the greatest title in the history of cinema. For now, check out the Zombie Strippers trailer.

As Vic put it here on Screen Rant the other day, the premiere of Battlestar Galactica Season 4 was fracking awesome and it did not disappoint this viewer either. Not only did I like it, but according to overall ratings numbers, somewhere in the vicinity of over 2 million other viewers also enjoyed the episode with me. I'm not sure I want to get into the mystical numbers that Nielsen reports - I tried to make sense of it all, but it seems like Greek metric math meets Gumby. So let me just spell out that which I do understand: 2 million viewers, watching the show as it was telecast are great numbers and got the Sci-Fi Channel some of the best ratings it's seen in key advertising demographics in the last two years. For Sci-Fi, this could be deemed a victory: keeping the show alive and well, not disappointing the fracking viewers. On the other hand, 2.1 million viewers doesn't even come close to comparing with the numbers the big three networks drew in that night. On the same ...

Screen Gems has released the movie trailer for Quarantine online.If you remember, last month we posted two viral videos which featured tape of a government shooting that happened on March 11th under the title Case 1017. It turned out that these virals were part of the viral marketing campaign for Quarantine, John Dowdle's American remake of Spanish horror film [rec]. The film follows a TV news crew which gets trapped with a hazmat crew in a CDC quarantined apartment building which has been infected by something unknown. When the quarantine is eventually lifted, the only evidence of what happened is the news crew?s videotape (ala Cloverfield). The movie stars Jennifer Carpenter (pictured above), who I absolutely fell in love with from the hit television show Dexter (she plays Dexter's foul mouthed almost always inappropriate sister Debra Morgan). Rumor: Controversial Joker Scene(s) in The Dark Knight Being Cut

Cinema Blend recieved a tip via a friend who tells them that execs at Warner Bros. are considering cutting a rather unsettling and meta scene from The Dark Knight featuring The Joker due to Heath Ledger?s unfortunate passing. The source says the scene is not playing well with test audiences. Read on if you want to know the scene, nothing too spoilerish in such limited context. And keep in mind this is just a rumor. The scene involves The Joker pretending to be dead inside a body bag. If true, I?m not going to jump at the decision just yet. Usually I?d rail against it, but to me, this is a matter of taste/respect and while Christopher Nolan?s grim vision should remain intact along with the performance that Ledger will be most remembered for, maybe it?s just a bit much. Wow, this might be the first time I?ve camped out with the ?too sooners.? The scene could always be permanently restored on the DVD. How do you all feel about it?

Se reveló la primer imagen de la nueva cinta de D.J. Caruso director de Disturbia. La cinta se llama Eagle Eye como se adelantó hace un tiempo y en ella el director hace de nuevo mancuerna con Shia LaBeouf, a mi me gusto bastante Disturbia, me pareció fresca y ágil, así que Caruso tiene todo para lograr hacer de esta un hitazo, Eagle Eye relata la historia de un joven que se involucra con una madre soltera y con una célula terrorista que planea un asesinato político. La historia es original de Steven Spielberg, la productora es Dreamworks por obvias razones, y el nutrido cast se acompaña de Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thorton, Ethan Embry y Michael Chiklis, el estreno es el 26 de Septiembre en los Estados Unidos.

A couple of weeks ago I commented on how my expectations for the new version of The Day the Earth Stood Still couldn't get any worse. Well it turns out I was wrong: it's even worse than I thought. Over at Ain't It Cool News they seem to have a new contributor and apparently he's gotten his hands on a copy of the script for the unnecessary remake. IF this report is accurate man oh man oh MAN does it sound awful. According to the report (and there are BIG spoilers below, so be warned!): - There is no "Gort" in the movie, instead there's a robot that walks on all fours called "Totem." - Klatuu is not the first visitor here from his planet. There's already been an old man here for 80 years monitoring us.(Logic problems galore with this one, pointed out at AICN.) - They destroyed their planet through global warming and pollution so have come here to destroy us before we do that to other worlds. - The source states that the famous phrase "Klatuu Barada Nicto" is never uttered....

Andrew Ainsworth, who was the sculpter that delivered the Stormtrooper ?s helmets in Star Wars, now sells them on his website without approval or authorization from Lucas film. These go for about $2000 a pop without dime one going to Darth Flannel. In 2006 Lucas put an end to this in a $20milion lawsuit, but the Dark Side is strong in this counterfeiter, and he continues to peddle his Trooper domes in Britain, where the lawsuit had no jurisdiction. Yet. Yahoo says: Lucasfilm claims violation of copyright and trademarks by prop designer Andrew Ainsworth, who sculpted the Stormtrooper helmets for the first ?Star Wars? movie in 1977. London-based Ainsworth sells replicas of the helmets and armor, which he says are made from the original molds, on his Web site. Heston, uno de esos actores que a pesar de llevar años ya inactivo, todavía están en boca de muchos (aunque en su caso, no sé si por sus éxitos pasados o por su polémica defensa de las armas de fuego), padecía desde hacía varios años una enfermedad degenerativa, muy similar al Alzheimer. Y no nos apeamos todavía del terreno de la animación, puesto que ?Space chimps? es una de la nuevas propuestas familiares dentro de este campo para el próximo verano, siendo el 18 de julio la fecha elegida para su distribución en las salas de Estados Unidos.Como se desprende fácilmente por su título, esta comedia de aventuras de Vanguard Animation y Starz Media se centra en un grupo de chimpancés especialmente entrenados que vivirán una serie de peripecias espaciales de la mano de la NASA. La película supone el debut en la dirección del guionista Kirk De Micco (?Héroe a rayas?, ?La espada mágica?), que con ese apellido parecía predestinado a sacarla adelante. Mostrar fotos nuevas de la película de carne y hueso de ?Dragon Ball ? es como mostrar una radiografía de tu pierna rota. Duele. Y mucho. La esperanza nunca se pierde todo sea dicho, pero en este caso parece que en lugar de que los fans alberguen, aunque sea un poco, algo de ilusión con lo que se va a hacer, el desastre nos lo van anunciando poco a poco. Y no es para menos todo sea dicho. Cierto es que la fidelidad a una obra es caldo de cultivo para más de un debate, pero a la larga damos manga ancha a ciertas licencias que se producen a la hora de mostrarnos en la pantalla grande a ciertos personajes o situaciones. Aquí todo se ha pasado por la torera, o eso parece tal y como vemos. Nos muestran una serie de pics que ni mucho menos pueden ser para bien. Poder y no querer sería el final de todo.
