Tobey Maguire será ?Hungry rabbit jumps?

La semana pasada os contábamos que Tobey Maguire iba a producir la adaptación del cómic ?Afterburn?, aunque no estaba pervisto que él interpretara ningún personaje de la cinta. Pues bien, ahora nos enteramos por Variety.com del que sí será uno de los próximos proyectos de Maguire como actor. Así, el protagonista de la saga ?Spider-Man? participará en ?Hungry rabbit jumps?, un thriller dramático del que no se conocen más detalles salvo que sus responsables lo han anunciado como una película en la línea de ?The game? de David Fincher. El guión es obra del tirando a desconocido Robert Tannen (?Even money?), mientras que Endgame Entertainment y Gordonstreet Productions producirán el largometraje bajo la supervisión de la compañía de Tobey, Maguire Entertainment. Behind the Scenes Incredible Hulk Featurette

After months and months of waiting we're finally getting some footage from The Incredible Hulk . The teaser trailer debuted back in March and now we've got an extra special behind-the-scenes look at the big green superhero. Not only does this feature LOTS of new footage, but it really puts the entire movie into perspective the way the trailer did not. This video right here has sold me on The Incredible Hulk. Now I have a feeling that this could be incredible. I don't know what it is, but all the scenes and footage and everything just looks so much better in this featurette than it did in the trailer. I'll admit - something about that first trailer felt off. I could sense there was more hidden beneath within the actual movie, but they didn't reveal it. However, this featurette finally showed me what this movie could be capable of achieving and with that I am now very excited. Until we hear an actual official announcement from New Line / Warner Brothers, anything that Guillermo del Toro , Peter Jackson, or even Ian McKellen says about The Hobbit is unconfirmed. They can talk all they want, but as Guillermo himself says "it's all immaterial until everything is signed and put on paper." With that, on Wednesday the big guns at Entertainment Weekly caught up with Guillermo and, of course, asked him about the latest on The Hobbit . First thing to notice, Guillermo does outright say "I will be involved." Besides that, though, it's the same ol' wait-until-its-ready talk we've heard for a while now. Given the importance of this project, I think its best to leave this update in its original question-and-answer form. Frankly, it's just a brief update with hardly anything new. Official "Hellboy 2" Trailer Out

The official trailer for "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army" just started appearing all over the internet a few hours ago and now here it is for you.The first movie was a good ride (if nothing life-changing) and this one looks even better. Guillermo del Toro and the other folks designing the characters have really upped the ante, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds as if Doug Jones is finally getting to voice Abe Sapien himself. David Hyde Pierce isn't listed as appearing in the project on IMDb, and the difference is especially noticeable when Abe says, "the Golden Army, an unstoppable force." Good for Jones, who's gotten screwed over more than once.

Only 30 days and counting until the summer movie season kicks off with Iron Man on May 2nd! We've seen a lot of footage and a lot of trailers for Iron Man already, but I'm wondering how much more there is to it. And I say that because I think there is a LOT more that we don't even know about yet. We're going to be in for one hell of a treat come May. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, some new photos have popped up over at SuperHeroHype and they're pretty awesome. These should give you that last bit of energy you need to last 30 more days! Just take a look at that last trailer. Besides a few scenes at the end of Iron Man fighting Iron Monger, there is the entire last half of the movie that we haven't seen a glimpse of. Or for that matter, we don't even know what happens. Cuando se implanta una moda en Hollywood, no hay quien la pare. Así, casi parece que buena parte de las estrellas de cine quieran llevar a la gran pantalla algún cómic o novela gráfica. Veamos, hace unos días Tònia os comentaba que Tobey Maguire será uno de los productores de ?Afterburn? y que Will Smith hará lo propio con ?Amulet?. Pues bien, ahora leemos en Variety que Ben Stiller (?Matrimonio compulsivo?), quien tiene pendiente de estreno la supuestamente taquillera ?Tropic thunder? y que ya prepara la continuación de ?Noche en el museo?, será uno de los productores y probablemente el protagonista de ?The return of King Doug?, una novela gráfica de Greg Orb y Jason Oremland que no estará disponible en las tiendas hasta el próximo año (por cierto, ellos mismos serán los responsables de escribir el guión del filme). Rating:3 out of 5 Short version: Loosely based on real events, this movie has the potential to be powerful and poignant, but instead it settles for being a mildly entertaining popcorn flick. If you check your brain at the door and don't mind style over substance, it's good for a couple of hours of mindless entertainment. When I first sat down to see this movie, the reality of my situation started to sink in. I was about to see a movie directed by Robert Luketic, the same guy who directed Legally Blonde, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, and Monster-in-Law. Plus, one of the executive producers was Brett Ratner. Okay, so maybe I shouldn't expect Citizen Kane here, but would it at least be enjoyable? To be fair, it is reasonably enjoyable, but it falls far short of its potential. Before I go into much detail about the story, I should mention that the real standout in this movie is Jim Sturgess. Universal has acquired the rights to "First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong," a nonfiction book by NASA historian James R. Hansen. Nicole Perlman, the recently-hired screenwriter, told Variety: The closer he got to the moon, the further away he became from his family. He had a family tragedy before Apollo that turned him into this driven astronaut, and he became such a perfect hero that while Buzz Aldrin was announced to be the first man on the moon, NASA reversed its decision because Neil was regarded as more heroic.Perlman isn't new to NASA-themed screenplays. She recently wrote a script called "Challenger," which is about the investigation of the destruction of the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger. Watchmen Cast and Crew Army Patch

The faux army patch pictured above was passed out to the cast and crew of Zack Snyder's Watchmen , following the conclusion of an epic paintball battle on the New York Backlot, which involved smoke bombs, paint grenades, and "automatic rifles that rattled windows and left fluorescent dotted lines of fire along walls." According to a report on Watchmencomicmovie, the paintball fame left the New York Backlot set completely covered in paint and basically destroyed. Kinda sad, but I would have loved to participate in that game. The patch, which is not available to public, reads: "OPERATION WRATH OF GOD. COMEDY, TRAGEDY, VIETNAM. 1970 - 1971". You've probably heard by now that a federal judge decided last week that Time Warner is no longer the sole proprietor of Superman . The court has ruled that the heirs of Jerome Siegel (of Siegel and Shuster) are entitled to a share of the US copyright to the character. The quick backstory goes like this: Siegel and Shuster sold the rights to Superman 70 years ago to Detective Comics for only $130. DC Comics has since given the creators each a $20,000-per-year annuity (later increased to $30,000). But then in 1997, Mrs. Siegel and her daughter served copyright termination notices which permits heirs to be able to recover rights to creations in certain situations (part of the 1976 Mickey Mouse copyright act). Compensation would be limited to any work created using the Superman character after their 1999 termination date. I am really looking forward to Will Smith?s Hancock despite some grumblings around the net that people are not liking it. Well some images came up today and our friends at Rope of Silicon posted a peek: Well, some new pics from the flick have popped up online. The one above looks like a really early special effects shot that hasn?t been completely fixed up, but the rest are some nice looks at the flick especially our first really good looks at Charlize Theron in the film. Charlize is always looking so appealing, and I love Bateman. He is just fun in everything he does. I really like the idea of a supers movie with more of an antihero as the star. Superhero flicks always paint up these heroes like they are nearly perfect paragons of existence with a few minor distracting bits to remind you they are human. I look forward to seeing a Hero that we have too look at VERY carefully to find any redeeming qualities. But the whole movie will be worth it just to see that clip of Hancoc...

August remake of their ?99 Thai crime thriller, Bangkok Dangerous, starring Nicholas Cage has hit the Web. Really, is this the best poster a designer could envision with a title like that? Cage, who at one point was also attached to a U.S. remake of Oldboy (those words always make a couple peoples? heads explode like Riki-Oh), plays a hitman who falls in love with a local lass and falls friends for an errand boy (like Short Round?!?). American Teen's New Poster - Breakfast Club Rip Off

They were five total strangers, with nothing in common, except the school they went to. A heartthrob, a princess, a jock, a rebel and a geek. Before the year was over, they broke the rules. Bared their souls. And changed in ways they never dreamed possible. If that sounds like Breakfast Club , well you're close. A new poster has debuted for American Teen, courtesy of Film School Rejects, and its a blatant rip off of The Breakfast Club's poster - right down to that catchphrase. Well, of course that's what Paramount Vantage is going for, but I'm not satisfied. For some reason this doesn't strike me as the right way to market this film, but I may be wrong. Either way, now that I've got your interest, you still need to check it out. The phrase is accurate, so they're not skewing the reality of what you'll find in the documentary, but I feel like trying to connect with The Breakfast Club isn't the best way to attract the attention of the right audiences. Pirates of the Caribbean Writers Hired for Bruckheimer's Lone Ranger Next

Jerry Bruckheimer's reboot of The Lone Ranger may have just received its golden ticket - screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. We've covered this project before, back in May of last year, but since then its been all quiet on the western front. Confirmed officially today is that Elliott and Rossio are in final negotiations to write the script for the live-action big-screen adaptation of the classic 1930s radio show. Besides writing Shrek, The Mark of Zorro, and Godzilla (two of which were also reboots) together, Elliott and Rossio were the duo that brought us all three of the Pirates of the Caribbean adventures. But are they capable of repeating that success? The Lone Ranger is essentially a very risky and troubled project. In a day and age where westerns continue to flop no matter how good they are, a fantastical world that features a masked hero, silver bullets, and "Hi-yo Silver, away!" isn't likely to succeed.
