Someone to be admired and respected

As I have been doing the christmas thing, decorating, shopping, baking and visiting, it got me to thinking about the people in my life who have influenced me in a good and positive way. I have been blessed that there are many but right now, I wanted to write about this one in particular lady as I think she is absolutely amazing. Never have i imagined there could be such a kind and caring soul. This is a woman who has raised a family; 2 sons, and was married to a wonderful man for many many years. She opened her own successful restaurant business and helped her community in a large way by applying equal opportunity employment standards. She did this during a time before women even had the right to vote! She became involved in politics and was responsible for several acts and petitions that actually seen Change happen. Tonight, or this morning (as it is now) I was asked by a lovable amphibian where I have been.  Well, I have been trying to get this jumper finished, that task has failed! Then I had to finish wrapping christmas presents and start on the task of writing christmas cards, I just have the local ones and work ones to do now. On thursday night, I had my works christmas party, I didnt appear online at all on Thursday evening, Friday morning or Friday night! I was slightly hungover on Friday morning, but still had to be in work on time.  I pressed the snooze button until 7.15 when I had to get up to be at work for 8.30am. I finished work on the Thursday at 5.10pm (official finishing time is 5.00pm which is usually nearer 6.00pm) rushed home, to be ready for my lift at 6.45!  The boss phoned me at around 6.30 saying he was stuck in traffic, and could i set up a bar tab, if I was first there. As a result of thursdays events, I saw myself with an invitation to a high end party taking place in some 4 story mansion on the mainland. I had to fly out there, which was kind of nice. It was a beautiful night for a flight, and for the most part, all the flight people around me were happy and smiling - i didnt even get the feeling that there may have been a conspiracy going on lol. I took along my attache case and felt all business like and important. I was dressed to the nine’s in some of my best, (well, everything i have is some of the best so, lets just say, i was dressed to kill - as usual). So, it’s Thursday and I am at work. A lot of hustle and bu bu bustle that day. A lot was going on. There were a few fames around, and a shoot was getting ready to take place. I needed some attention. There is this guy, and he told us a story of an interent date gone sour. He had met this girl in a chat. He refused to tell us where, but promised that it was no one we knew. Last night at Rosemary Conley (fat club as I have nicknamed it) i was hoping to have lost the 1 1/2 pounds I was short of, of losing 2 stone with them Unfortunately I didnt make it hmpphh it was that damned meal i went out with for work last monday at Frankie and Benny’s that put pay to that I think. Andrea, the girl that runs the class, knew me and my friend Claire, were both approaching our 2 stone band (28 pounds for you foreign types hehehehehe) so she came armed with two backpacks each weighing a stone each that she had filled with raw pasta. As neither me or Claire managed to hit that mark, we didnt have to do the exercise class with them on our backs, and front, we could both only manage to keep them on for about 5 minutes, just standing there.
