Move Over Tonka
2008-02-05 09:24:00 Tipper trucks haven’t change much in the last century so designer Haishan Deng took it upon himself to create the Super Tipper Truck. Current tipper trucks can only unload their cargo one way. This usually requires the driver to maneuver ever so carefully. With the Super Tipper, door access on all four sides allow it to dump its junk in any direction.Of course it wouldn’t be an improved construction vehicle without more power and the Super Tipper leaves non disappointed. Each set of wheels has its own motor and independent suspension - you know, for those awkward incline angles.I can’t wait for the UltraMega Tipper Truck!Designer: Haishan DengSource: yankodesign.com More About: Move
Gemma Atkinson’s Not So Pint Sized Cans Drining Pints
2008-02-04 14:20:00 Here’s everyone’s favorite average-looking girl Gemma Atkinson showing off her very non-average sized funbags at some pub in Ireland. I think this is the third time we’ve seen Gemma wear that top, but that information is extremely useless, and I shouldn’t have brought it up because no girls read my site. That said, check out the size of those!Source: hollywoodtuna.com
Hang On For Dear Life
2008-02-04 14:14:00 Desk space is a premium so designers tryto cater that by creating objects with smaller footprints. Take for example this Hang ing Printer. The bulk of its components are actually underneath the desk. The paper feed and print head are the only parts sitting on the desk. The casing has an embedded LCD to indicate status. It makes for a simple clean modern aesthetic that’s actually quite a solve for today’s cluttered desktops.Designer: Jin Hee Kim, Hyung Il Kim & Woo Seok ParkSource: yankodesign.com More About: Life

Kaziranga National Park - Tiger Attack
2008-02-03 14:03:00 True Story behind the Kaziranga National Park - Tiger Attack - The Complete Video. The forest department was combing the area with five elephants to locate a large female tiger which had killed two cows near their village. The team cautiously moved almost 20 feet where she was growling away. They took a shot at it with a dart gun and missed. This enraged the tiger so much that she charged and took a "flying" leap 12 feet above the ground on to the elephant's head. What's even more amazing is what happened next. More About: National Park
First Lithium-Ion Car Battery Factory to Open in France
2008-02-03 11:06:00 John Reed inthe Financial Times reports that Johnson Controls and Saft, a U.S. supplier group and French battery producer, respectively, are set to break ground on a factory dedicated to the exclusive production of advanced lithium-ion batteries for cars. The facility, which will supply a range of automakers, including GM, Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz, is based in Nersac, France ; its yearly production capacity will initially be 5,000 battery packs with the option to scale up if demand warrants it.Lithium -ion battery packs, which are about half the size and weight of nickel-metal hydride batteries, will power the next generation of hybrid, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The factory plans to expand its operations over time to supply other facilities around the world, particularly in Asia. This follows recent announcements by Toyota, GM and Nissan that they plan on launching their own plug-in and electric vehicles within the next few years.Source: treehugger.com More About: Factory , Battery , Open
Carmen Electra Is On The Sauce
2008-02-02 15:27:00 Here’s Carmen Electra on some show called The Sauce on the Fuse Network. Never heard of it, but that doesn’t really matter since Carmen’s giving what appears to be a little aerobic striptease lesson. Unfortunately, she’s wearing way too many clothes for the tease portion to work, but I’ll forgive her - this time! Hey, the girl’s given us enough pleasure throughout the years that I figure a simple screw up like this can be overlooked.Source: hollywoodtuna.com

Is This Chair Coming or Going?
2008-02-02 12:49:00 The 3 Step Chair is an odd one. Looking at it side-on, you’d be hard pressed to figure out what’s happening. The 2 extra set of legs are supposed to confuse you, as if it’s in motion. It comes in a variety of shapes and configurations thanks to fiberglass and a production process called vacuum infusion. The end product is super light yet rigid enough to support a lot of weight.Designer: Pinar Yar & Tugrul GovsaSource: yankodesing.com
The Cord Trap
2008-02-02 12:43:00 You know those big holes you find in some desks? They’re supposed to help keep all cables in one place but things still end up kinda messy. The Cord Trap is just a coupling you snap into the hole. The notches help keep cables separate and hopefully from tangling up.Designer: Ram-hae Keum & Jung-Jin SoSource: yankodesign.com
The Dry Side
2008-02-02 12:35:00 Don’t you love the days following a rainstorm? The streets seem to gleam, the air is cleaner, and people are generally in a better mood to finally see the sun again. The only thing that sucks are all those wet benches and chairs. Fortunately clever designers (the Korean design gang) came up with a simple solution. The slats on these benches can rotate to the dry side by cranking the handle.Designer: Sungwoo Park, Yoonha Paick, Jongdeuk Son, Banseok Yoon, Eunbi Cho & Minjung SimSource: yankodesign.com More About: Side
Soft Lighting Find Its Way
2008-01-31 10:15:00 Reflected light on paper can be annoying, especially when one is reading. Soft Light provides the user with a luminescence that can be positioned to best suit the user’s needs. It functions both as indoor and outdoor lighting, and gives the user the flexibility to “mould” its form to suit specific environments and conditions. Its slim, flexible and pliable body allows it to be bent into various shapes. It can be used as decorative lighting indoors, as tent markers, as light strips for backpackers, or as decoration outdoors. The user is able to adjust the height and direction of the lighting by stretching its “neck” (the long cord), rotating the “head” and controlling the button. The lamp holder acts as a charger that charges the lamp for outdoor use, or when it is disconnected from its holder indoors.Designer: Yang Hai, Mingshuo Zhang,Yushan Wang & Yuan KangSource: yankodesign.com More About: Lighting , Find
My Weight’s a Secret
2008-01-31 10:13:00 Some people get palpitations just from weighing themselves. Perhaps the affirmation the last 15 lbs came from Christmas is weighing heavy on their minds, no pun intended. It’s one of those “I need to know, but don’t wanna look” situations some of us have had in our bathrooms. Sometimes a few self words of encouragement are necessary to prepare for the shock. Make it easier on yourself. The Secret Hole scale moves the “window of weight” right underneath your feet.
