Sublime Reunites After Nearly 13 Years With New Singer
2009-03-04 22:32:00
It’s been almost 13 years since singer/songwriter/guitarist Bradley Nowell, frontman of the band Sublime, died of a heroin overdose inside his hotel room. Since then, multiple albums have been released with previous recordings and new master tracks of previously-released content. Well, on February 28th, Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson teamed up with Rome Ramirez, a 20-year-old from California to play a gig as Sublime. You can watch some footage of the show below. Some fans are outraged by this reunion because they feel like Bradley has been replaced by Rome. Here is one person’s comment on ThePier.org Message Board It’s not gonna stop me from loving the old stuff, but it cheapens the brand and embarrasses me as a fan. I can’t proudly sport Sublime stickers on my car because I don’t want to associated with Rome, whatsoever. How about all the people who have branded themselves with Sublime tats? What if Rome tarnishes the Sublime name? What then? Al...

Sublime and Rock Band DLC
2009-02-10 04:23:00
Ever since the first Guitar Hero game came out, I have wanted to be able to play Sublime. It seemed possible when Guitar Hero 2 was announced, but no Sublime. Then Guitar Hero 3 was announced, and still no Sublime. I gave up hope for a while… Then Rock Band hit the scene and introduced downloadable content (DLC) as a major part of the game. Still, no Sublime. During the summer of 2008, rumors were flying left and right about what bands we would see in Rock Band 2, and Sublime was always on the top of everyone’s rumor track list. It seemed as though Rock Band fans everywhere would have the chance to see and play Sublime in Rock Band 2, but then the official track list was released by Harmonix and still there was no Sublime. While Rock Band 2 was in development, the guys over at Activision were busy making their version of a full-band game, Guitar Hero: World Tour. And wouldn’t you know, Sublime was finally brought to the homes of video-game fans everywhere with the...
Senate Approves Digital TV Conversion Delay
2009-01-27 02:46:00
We’ve all been waiting a long time for this digital TV conversion to finally take place, and now we’re going to have to wait even longer. The Senate has just delayed the whole conversion another four months to help everyone waiting for their $40 coupons to buy their DTV converted boxes. This transition was supposed to take place February 17th, but now it will happen on June 12th. All I have to say is Congress and everyone else involved needs to get their act together and get this transition underway. We have been seeing the commercials regarding this transition for months now and it seems like we should have had ample time to get this whole conversion thing over with.

Joaquin Phoenix — Great Actor, Horrible Rapper
2009-01-18 22:47:00
It was only a few months ago when Joaquin Phoenix announced that he was going to retire from acting to pursue his musical career. Sure, he did a great job as Johnny Cash in “Walk The Line,” but just because he was good at singing country doesn’t mean he would be good at doing hip-hop. Last night was the debut of Phoenix’s hip-hop career, and you can see how horribly he did by watching the first video below. The second video is of him trying to pump up the crowd and then exiting the stage, where the whole performance just falls on its face. Oh Joaquin, how I miss you as an actor already…
