Lil Wayne Pleads Not Guilty To Arizona Drug, Gun Charges
2008-05-07 02:45:00 Lil Wayne appeared in an Arizona courtroom on Tuesday (May 6) to answer to several drug charges, stemming from an arrest in January.He has maintained since that arrest, the rapper entered a not guilty plea on charges of multiple drug possession charges -- three being felonies -- and a misconduct involving weapons charge.He is scheduled to appear back in court on May 19.Weezy was arrested at in late January, following a search of his tour bus during a routine stop at a Border Patrol checkpoint just outside of Yuma, Arizona.During the stop, DEA found numerous narcotics -- including 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy -- and a 40-caliber pistol registered to the rapper.Wayne's legal team filed a motion in March asking for a lesser drug charge, claiming the amount of cocaine (29 grams) was incorrect. Just last week, one of my favorite bands, Coldplay, offered (for an entire week) a free download of their first single, "Violet Hill," on their main website. I think that this was an excellent marketing strategy to promote their new album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Today, as i was checking Billboard, i saw that rockers Nine Inch Nails have taken it a step further: "Nine Inch Nails, in a surprise move, posted access to a free download of its complete new album, "The Slip," on its Web site this morning (May 5). The ten-track album is available in several formats, including MP3 and high-quality lossless formats, via a link on NIN.com.
