2008-04-29 01:36:00 The 'Pac sets keep on rolling. This compilation starts off kinda odd (you'll see what I'm saying), but once you get into it, you'll definitely enjoy. Though it was 'Pac's most commercially successful album, I've never been a huge fan of this one (aside from a few GREAT tracks). As this album saw 2Pac verging off towards more gangsta territory, you'll notice these samples also got funkier (still got a 'lil soul though). Some of my favorites include 'Wildflower', 'Body Heat', 'A Dream', 'West Coast Pop Lock' and 'What You Won't Do for Love'. Closer has a real polished feel to it, without losing that musical creativity that Ne-Yo can bring to the table.The video continues this streak, with something a little more 'conceptual' than we are usually used to from the king of R&B radio tunes. Ghostface Killah - The Big Doe Rehab [The Samples]
2008-04-28 04:03:00 Well, well, well. This one took a while to come up with because I was digging endlessly for the one track I needed to complete the set. The Hip-Hop gods smiled upon me, and I've finally gotten this one all wrapped up. This compilation is short (9 tracks), but it's definitely worth the ride. It's quite arguably the funkiest (FONKIEST!!) one we've ever touched (Redman probably comes in with a close second). To me, these samples were obscure as f*ck (aside from the Rare Earth track which I S&E'd a while back). They're what made TBDR such a soulful trip (Ghost definitely knows how to pick some samples). This set was 5 months in the making (all for that one friggin' track!), so this one's been aged like a nice bottle of wine.
