Hideo Kojima, the creator of the hit Metal Gear Solid series will be delivering one of the keynote addresses at the Game Developers Conference 2009 this March. The man behind Snake will speak at GDC 2009! The organizers of the Game Developers Conference have announced another major keynote speaker for the expo being held next month at San Francisco's Moscone Center. On Thursday, March 26, at 10:30AM, Kojima will deliver a speech entitled "Solid Game Design: Making the 'Impossible' Possible." The most frightening thing The panicked dispatch in question comes from a thread over at Microsoft's official Xbox forums titled "Todays [sic] Update Red Ring ed my 360?" The message was posted on February 4th by a perplexed user and reads as follows:So I just turned on my 360 tonight and it tells me there is a system update out. Bioware Releasing Second Mass Effect DLC Pack

Following the Bring Down The Sky DLC pack for Mass Effect , Bioware is preparing the second downloadable episode for the massive space adventure. I can has six eyes plz? In an interview with CinemaBlend, BioWare community manager Jay Watamaniuk revealed that a new DLC pack for Mass Effect would be coming soon. The first pack, Bring Down The Sky took roughly an hour and a half to finish, so we assume that the second should be around the 90 minute mark as well. Little details are known so far, so keep your eyes peeled for more news on the upcoming DLC pack as it comes in.Watamaniuk made no mention of Mass Effect 2, which was given an early 2010 release date. Recent news indicates that Namco Bandai has pulled the plug on BottleRocket, the development studio contracted to work on Splatterhouse. All assets and developer kits were removed last Friday as confirmed by Kotaku. Instead, Namco plans on completing the game with its internal game label--most likely Surge, the creative group behind Afro Samurai.BottleRocket had worked with the Afro Samurai team earlier in the devlopment process, but claims that their contributions to the workload was less than helpful. In addition to missing deadlines, Namco Bandai states that the work submitted for the game by the BottleRocket team did not meet its standards. New on the inside, anyway, though without so much as a twinge of marketing pomp or circumstance. Quieter "Jasper " Xbox 360 models make their way onto store shelves. What's new? Three things, it seems.First, the graphics processing unit or GPU has shrunk from 90nm to 65nm, which in simple terms means "same performance, less heat." Resident Evil 5 On 360, PS3 Each Getting Platform Exclusives In Japan

Owners of both a 360 and PS3 will face a hard decision when RE5 releases in March. Each console's Resident Evil 5 release will get their own exclusive content specific to the platform. Namco Bandai dared you to pick between Darth Vader and Yoda when it split the two up for the initial release of Soul Calibur 4 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And while they've since (unsurprisingly) patched up that quandary for gamers with a downloadable content release, gamers in Japan with both a PS3 and 360 are going to face another this-or-that decision come March when Resident Evil 5 releases. You'll be finding yourself with some different exclusive goodies depending on which console you decide to play the game on, according to translations of a Japanese Capcom site (via CVG). "Big Surf Island " as large as Downtown Paradise , emphasizes big jumps. You are encouraged to jump higher in the new Burnout Paradise expansion Among its other planned downloadable content for 2009, Burnout Paradise is preparing to unlock an entirely new island. Dubbed "Big Surf Island" for its massive jumps, the area is said to be about the size of Downtown Paradise. The island will be the ultimate destination of the incomplete suspension bridge off the coast of east downtown. Big Surf Island is centered around long drifts and jumps larger than any of those in Paradise City. The most recent Crash TV also has an inside look at the new area from the developers, if you want to hear the direction of it straight from the horse's mouth.Like the other announced DLC for 2009, this pack won't be free. Though pricing isn't confirmed, adding a large area to the map is likely to be more expensive than additional cars, even if those cars are famous among geeks. We'll let you know more about...
