Bucky Covington will be back on stage tomorrow night after a few days off, performing at the Ross County Fair in Chillicothe, Ohio before making his way to my neck of the woods on Friday where he is the star attraction of the 75th Belpre Homecoming. As you can tell from this local news clip (choose Lineup set for Belpre Celebration) via WTAP, the valley is very excited to have Bucky performing in our area. The article mentions Bucky's appearance as part of Sawyer Brown's set at the event and talks of him saying "he (Bucky) did a goofy impression of Miller's dancing and later made a big impression with some fans by making a late-night visit to the VIP campgrounds". The piece (which comes via the Carrie Underwood fan board, Carrie News) talks in length about Bucky's succes post Idol and how the show helps gain artists recognition. Mark Miller, who produces Bucky's smash debut album is quoted several times. "He has a cool, cool sounding voice," Miller said. "I discovered Bucky because my son was his biggest fan. As Buckymania reported yesterday, Bucky Covington has been added to the line up of the 15th annual Oregon Jamboree in Sweet home Oregon. Bucky is replacing Billy Currington on the roster, who according to the Corvallis Gazette Times, has canceled summer tour plans due to laryngitis. The festival taking place over August 3rd, 4th and 5th, also includes country stars, Trisha Yearwood, Dierks Bentley, Aaron Tippin, Lorrie Morgan and others. According to the Lakefront Hartwell.com, Bucky Covington and his band will be spending Labor Day weekend at the The 2007 Great Southeast Balloon Fest in SC. This shot by Aaron Crisler features Covington mingling with fans during the festivities. The Tennessean spotlights the festival in a story this morning, leading up to ABC's airing of CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock on July 23rd at 8pm. Check your local listings. It is unsure if we will catch a glimpse of Bucky on the ABC special, but you never know how you will see your favorite country star on the special. Last year featured fun clips of Brad Paisley hopping on a Nashville Tour Bus to give fans his view of Nashville so we can cross our fingers and hope for a nice surprise.
