As Buckymania reported yesterday, Bucky Covington has been added to the line up of the 15th annual Oregon Jamboree in Sweet home Oregon. Bucky is replacing Billy Currington on the roster, who according to the Corvallis Gazette Times, has canceled summer tour plans due to laryngitis. The festival taking place over August 3rd, 4th and 5th, also includes country stars, Trisha Yearwood, Dierks Bentley, Aaron Tippin, Lorrie Morgan and others. According to the Lakefront Hartwell.com, Bucky Covington and his band will be spending Labor Day weekend at the The 2007 Great Southeast Balloon Fest in SC. About 70 hot air balloonists from across the country will compete for prizes and the title of “The 2007 Great Southeast BalloonFest Champion.” Additionally, nearly a dozen pilots are expected to compete for prizes and the title “2007 South Carolina Champion.” The balloon competitions are sanctioned by the Balloon Federation of America."The articles also touts Bucky's success in the past year saying, "record-breaking new artist BUCKY COVINGTON headlines a night filled with country music at the William A. Bucky Covington has moved up yet again on the Mediabase Weighted chart to the #8 position! Won't be long now until we see the shift on the Top 500 Chart as well.Winnie at Buckymania got a little nostalgic yesterday and got me thinking too.I am going to shamelessly elaborate on her original thought lol It is odd looking back and thinking of those days when the topic of conversation was "Oh I hope he gets signed, I hope it's a good label, and what will be?? This shot by Aaron Crisler features Covington mingling with fans during the festivities. The Tennessean spotlights the festival in a story this morning, leading up to ABC's airing of CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock on July 23rd at 8pm. Check your local listings. It is unsure if we will catch a glimpse of Bucky on the ABC special, but you never know how you will see your favorite country star on the special. Last year featured fun clips of Brad Paisley hopping on a Nashville Tour Bus to give fans his view of Nashville so we can cross our fingers and hope for a nice surprise. The 8pm all ages show is sponsored by WCAT 102.3 and will be free for the over 21 crowd. Fox and Friends, Lost Luggage and a Power picks Match

Seems the airlines lost their luggage so Bucky and the whole band were sporting matching I love NY t-shirts, (still giggling a little heh) and Don was sans his trademark hat. If you missed it hopefully someone will post it online at some point today. Bucky mentioned Kellie Pickler texting him and teasing him about what she would do if she heard his song on the radio one more time and told the story of him showing up for Elliott Yamin's CD Signing and jokingly asking for his money back.
