No one doubted that Aamir Khan ’s directorial debut would be great however everyone was surprised that this critically acclaimed movie also did wonders at the Box Office and blurred the lines between commercial and multiplex cinema.Aamir Khan is pretty candid about his likes and dislikes.“I get attracted to unusual stuff. I have got a kind of weird taste when it comes to themes,” said the versatile Khan, who brought new dimensions to the Hindi film industry (he dislikes the word Bollywood), during a “conversation” with Shoma Choudhary on the penultimate day of the weeklong Literature Festival here on Saturday.

Bachchans Inaugurate Aishwarya Bachchan Kanya Mahavidyalaya School

Yesterday the Bachchan Parivar with extreme gusto inaugurated the Aishwarya Bachchan Kanya Mahavidyalaya School in Daulatpur village, about 63 km (39 miles) northeast of Lucknow.  Amitabh Bachchan agreed to sponsor the girls, after CNN-IBN reported how they were abandoned by their parents at a private boarding school a year back.Amitabh Bachchan said, “These were two very sweet innocent girls and I felt very bad and so I told CNN-IBN through my friend Amar Singh that I would like to pay fro their education if they don’t mind.”

Bollywood and Cricket has always been synomous with each other and now the relationship just got stronger tahnks to the bidding results of Indian Premier League. The whole nation took notion when news started pouring that Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta now have their own crcket teams!SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment won the Kolkata franchise for $75 million and Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia, together with Apeejay Surrendra’s Karan Paul and Dabur scion Mohit Burman got the the Chandigarh franchise for $75 millioin.After a run-in with the BCCI last November, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan took a swipe at the body saying there should not be any objections if he now watched cricket matches. “No one should have objection if I watch a match now,” said Shah Rukh after he won a bid on Thursday to own Mumbai team in the high-profile Indian Premium League (IPL).

If you are Shahrukh Khan there is very little to excite you. Hence we have seen the actor finally experimenting and stepping out of his comfort box (think Swades and Chak De India). Now according to the rumor mill SRK may just do his first ever Broadway style musical.The theatrical, titled ‘City Of Dreams ’, is set against the backdrop of Hindi film industry. It will have songs and dances from Bollywood films.Reportedly, Mohammad Morani’s wife Nasreen will play the leading role of a girl named Ada. The musical will also have a top Bollywood actor and actress. The Moranis are considering signing SRK for one of these parts.

Issuing fatwas at Salman Khan seems to be quite in vogue! Mufti Darul Ifta Salim Ahmad Kasmi has a problem with Salman’s wax avatar and hence issued a fatwa against the actor. The agreement is that the statue is going against provisions of Shariat, which terms installation of statue of a living person as haram or forbidden. "I came to know about the wax statue of the actor at Madame Tussauds after seeing newspaper reports. Our congratulations to Zayed and Mallika Khan who became proud parents yesterday morning after Mallika delivered a 6.1 pounds baby boy at 7.54 am. The baby has been named Zidane after you guessed it, France’s famous player Zinedine Zidane. So Khan Jr will now be called Zidaan Zayed Abbas Khan. Says Zayed:Oh my God! Have I become a father? I can’t believe it. I have never been so happy in my life. When I look at the baby, I cannot believe that he is a part of me!”“We considered many names, but deep down I always wanted to name my son after Zidane, I am his great fan,” revealed Zayed, adding, “it’s too early to decide who he looks like, but I think the baby is 50-50 Mallika and me. Little Champ s contestants Aamir Hafiz (from Bhopal) and Tanmay Chaturvedi (from Lucknow) have been signed up for  Ravi Chopra’s upcoming film Bhootnath , starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.Music directors Vishal-Shekhar, who has composed the music for the film, spotted the boys. When contacted, the duo confirmed that Aamir and Tanmay had indeed sung in the film.When contacted, Ravi Chopra said that he was glad to find the two very talented singers for his film Bhootnath. Vishal says, “Aamir is singing a song titled ‘Mere buddy suno zara’ with Bachchansaab. Tanmay is singing a group song titled ‘Hum toh hain aandhi.”Music director Shekhar says, “We had heard the two kids when we had gone on the show as special guests. We realised that their voices were perfect for the songs of Bhootnath. Both Aamir and Tanmay have done a good job in the film.”

Shah Rukh Khan will be heading to Berlin , Germany to give a lecture at the Talent Campus and showcase "Om Shanti Om at the Berlin Film Festival 2008. The 58th Berlin Film Festival aims to show the work of contemporary filmmakers and will run from February 7th – 17th.The German premiere of Om Shanti Om will be held on the 8th February at Kino Internazionale.

"The rumors must have come around because Shahrukh agreed to do an item number in Rakesh Roshan's Krazzy 4 but as of now Shahrukh is not in Krrish 2.
