Esther Ku Esther Ku continues to generate discussion and controversy because of her comedy act showcased on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. I asked not to long ago if beautiful Esther Ku will be the Last Comic Standing after she caught my eye on comedy contest and reality show.  Such a question has not come without some debate on the pages of this blog. Marie asks me in a recent comment: I’ve just got to ask…are you rooting for her this hard JUST because you think she’s “a cutie?” or “beautiful?” Is that really a good enough reason to root for a comedienne who, aside from that crazy Mary Mack, is probably the absolute LEAST funny contestant on LCS? Esther Ku Needs To Step It Up

Esther Ku I saw Last Comic Standing last night complete with Esther Ku’s win for this round. While I’m happy that Esther Ku — Chicago’s own cutie comic — made it into the finals, I’m hoping that she steps it up and moves beyond the stereotypical jokes she has been making into comedy that can transcend race and ethnicity and into more universal themes. I’m rooting for Esther Ku, but it will be hard to keep wanting her to win if she keep on with the same material that she has so far.  The other female comic — Iliza Shlesinger — is funnier because her topics are more universal and not so stereotypical. The Northwest Indiana Times runs a story today about a Valparaiso University professor’s research into the history of Northwest Indiana’s sand dunes. One interesting item of the research is a finding that back in the good old days before the combustion engine, Northwest Indiana’s climate was a lot warmer than it is these days — a lot like Arizona ’s climate, according to the professor. This supports the new theory among some scientists that man migrated to North American from Europe rather than Asia over the Bering Strait. We used to think, how could Europeans come over the ocean when it was all ice here, but now we know, it wasn’t ice then,” (VU Professor Ronald) Janke said. Heller (PDF), 554 U.S. ___ (2008). In sum, we hold that the District’s ban on handgun possession in the home violates the Second Amendment, as does its prohibition against rendering any lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of  immediate self-defense. Assuming that Heller is not disqualified from the exercise of Second Amendment rights, the District must permit him to register his handgun and must issue him a license to carry it in the home. E85 prices is listed first on Google, but it isn’t necessarily the best for people looking for E85 ethanol prices and fuel stations — especially in these days when E85 ethanol prices can vary greatly between stations and regions. The best of the bunch is altfuelprices.com — it lists all of the major alternative fuels available on a Google-based map.  Another advantage is that AltFuelPrice s.com lets people report prices without registering.  If you’re driving around and spot a station offering E85 ethanol, go ahead and report the price so that you can help out your fellow motorists. I wish GasBuddy and GaryGasPrices.com took E85 ethanol price reports since it would open E85 ethanol price reporting to a wider audience.  Maybe one of these days, those services will add the option for alternative fuel price reporting. Your local newspaper might be part of the next great industry that will originate overseas via outsourcing because the work of putting together a paper is cheaper in India.  Several papers are already using Indian companies to edit the pages of American newspapers.
