2008-06-03 02:25:00 Four big name wrestlers are among the finalists for the starring role in a television pilot centered around the life of an older celebrity. The finalists are Kurt Angle , Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page and Jake Roberts. Mick Foley was also a finalist, but was forced to back out when he accepted the color commentator position on SmackDown. At the moment, Nash appears to be the favorite for the role. WWE chairman promotes `Raw' with $1M giveaway

The World Wrestling Entertainment chairman announced during last week's "Monday Night Raw" that he would give away $1 million of his own wealth to viewers, but he didn't specify when or how it would be distributed.The cash will be given away as part of a lengthy promotional sweepstakes, McMahon and the WWE told The Associated Press. For a chance to win a part ? but not all ? of the $1 million, viewers must pre-register on WWE.com and then watch the beginning of "Raw" each week to receive a special code, which viewers must tell McMahon if he calls them during the live broadcast.The code will change each week of the promotion and will not be revealed until the beginning of each episode. Elite XC taking cues from the WWE
2008-06-01 23:14:00 It seems that the MMA community is up in arms about the network debut of Elite XC last night. I watched the show, mainly to see the women fighters (Gina Carano & Kaitlin Young) and I liked that the promoters added a bit of showmanship. There were rappers (Busta Rymes), cheerleaders, pyro, entrance music and the fighters entered the arena from an entrance ramp (sound familiar). I am a fan of MMA and I don't understand the negative spin some of the fans have put on the show. What's wrong with a little glitter? Bodybuilding Champions Plead Guilty to Killing Assistant

James' body was found in a torched luxury sedan in the desert outside Las Vegas in December 2005.Ryan pleaded guilty to arson and battery with a deadly weapon with significant bodily harm. Trial in the high-profile case was scheduled to begin Monday. Both were facing charges of murder with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping and third-degree arson.
