ECW with Raw; Heat out

WWE is planning to end the WWE.com Heat series and move the ECW On Sci-Fi tapings to the RAW tapings starting in June following the promotion's tour of Australia.ECW will be taped prior to RAW broadcasts and, we can assume, will also be part of RAW house shows. Smackdown tapings and house shows will then only feature Smackdown talent. WWE is hoping that mixing ECW in with RAW will help increase ECW ratings.WWE has already informed their international TV affiliates that a new WWE Classics series, featuring old WWE footage, will be replacing Heat soon.source: pwinsider.com

Philly Burbs journalist Eric Gargiulo has spoken to a few people close to the Ashley Massaro escort scandal story, and they are saying that the Ashley Massaro named by Rolling Stone is indeed the WWE Diva. Gargiulo's sources are saying that the timing fits right and considering that the girl in question was advertised from New York City, it's a pretty big giveaway.Regarding Massaro's employment status with World Wrestling Entertainment, Gargiulo's sources are saying that she is not expected to be terminated from the company, nor is she really in any trouble -- at least with them. Rather, company officials have told Massaro to keep quiet about the situation in hopes that the story simply goes away without further investigation or media attention.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Michael Hayes made some racist statements in regards to Democratic front runner Barack Obama. There was fear that some of those statements would become public before Obama agreed to appear on Raw a few weeks ago. The newsletter also mentions an interesting comment from a minority source on the WWE production team. The person noted that Dave Kapoor (Ranjin Singh) was removed as The Great Khali's manager and threatened to be fired for merely smiling during the in-ring ceremony for the 10th anniversary edition of Raw, while Hayes will be brought back to his position despite a history of racially insensitive comments.The W-O also notes that NBC's Dateline is looking to possibly do a show on the pro wrestling industry in late June, coinciding with the one year anniversary of the Benoit tragedy.
