Dan Radcliffe, old before his time.
2007-03-19 18:54:00 It would appear that Daniel Radcliffe has turned down a million-pound book deal to reveal all about Harry Potter. Dan told Neil Sean of Sky, “I have been offered obscene amounts of money to do a biography, but they fail to see that at 17 I am a little on the young side. I plan to live ... 2007-03-18 21:38:00 Thought this might be of interest to you news-hungry little scribbuli - an interview with the man who paid $37,000 for a first edition Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. $37k. For a book. He apparently thinks its a sound investment. We just hope he got paid well for the interview, poor guy. Read here and understand why he’d ... Various Emma Updates
2007-03-18 19:45:00 As we reported a week or so ago, Emma Watson donated some bits and bobs to be auctioned off for the Wild Trout Trust. Well, she made £1568.59 ($3,044.16) for the fund. Deathly Hallows - 700 pages? Ja?
2007-03-16 17:55:00 A German site on which readers can pre-order HP&DH lists the new book as having 700 pages. Fact? Or ist das just schnitzel? View here! This would make it 100 pages longer than HBP and around 60 shorter than OoTP which does tally with what JK has said so far. Thanks to Sabine, German reporter for ... ?Challenge Everything?? We do.
2007-03-15 18:13:00 Nope, not the exercise yard of Wormwood Scrubs or a glimpse of Azkaban, this is a new screengrab of Hogwarts from the Order of the Phoenix video game from EA Games. First editions all ?round?
2007-03-14 23:46:00 MiffyHarry is most happy to hear the recent news that 12 million copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be printed making it the biggest first print ever. This, of course, greatly reduces the worth of first editions, making collectors everywhere cry bitterly. But as long as MiffyHarry is happy, so are we. More About: Edit , First , Round , Edition

EXCLUSIVE: Statement to us from JK?s lawyer.
2007-03-13 00:15:00 Sooo, this Ebay court case business is a messy one, eh? The media report that JK Rowling has an injunction against Ebay while Ebay strongly refute this claim and accuse JK’s lawyers of misleading the media. Wanna lick the Weasley’s backsides?
2007-03-11 19:15:00 (picture: universharrypotter) …Well, now you can because they’ve made it on to a set of French postage stamps. We weren’t going to report this since it’s not all that interesting, but couldn’t resist the “backside” comment. Actually, there’s a nice new shot of the Weasley twin’s exit scene which looks pretty swish and some other images from the upcoming OoTP film. They all unfortunately look like someone has spilt coffee over them but the font they use is very Edward Gorey-ish and thusly passes our rigorous thumbs up test (which consisted of us all sipping tea, glancing over them and shrugging our shoulders at each other). Check all the images out over at HPFZ’s galleries - very smart people may note the images are of notebooks and not stamps at all but we feel we should question such deep mysteries not. JK Ebayfight update!
2007-03-10 18:37:01 Well, the petition makes sense now. It appears that Ebay /Bazee beat JK’s lawyers’ petition with one of their own yesterday resulting in the Delhi High Court issuing notice to JK alleging that the author was misleading the media in a book-piracy case. Justice A K Sikri asked their reports to be filed back by March 14th. So, they’re fighting a petition with a petition. Yo, we feel all misled. We’re all in support of JK’s case but we don’t think it’s much to ask to know the full story if we’re being asked to step in and become actively involved ourselves. Nevermind Ebay misleading kids with pirated books, now kids are being pulled in to fight an argument they know nothing about. While the petition itself is great and demands great things, will the signatures be used for the right reasons? More About: Fight , Update
Who?s that doll??
2007-03-10 06:36:01 Potter gossip is slow today so we thought instead, we’d have some fun! Yay. Minervous.
2007-03-10 06:36:01 It would seem that Maggie Smith (Mcgonagall) is suffering terrible “stage fright” and fears for her life right now. She’s convinced her friends and colleagues are waiting for her body to give up. “I think they all think I’m going to die. And I might. I’m very scared about the stage at the moment. I’ve always been scared actually, but I didn’t know I’d be this scared. Perhaps it will be alright on the night. Well, it won’t be on the first night, but afterwards perhaps.” she says. Stage fright? That’s paranoia, dahhhling. Give the lady a cup of tea and read the full piece here. Thanks to Sab for sending this over. More About: Miner , Mine
What?s going on?
2007-03-10 06:36:01 JK’s Army website has set up a petition (on a suggestion from JK’s lawyer) to ask fans to lend their support in JK’s fight against Ebay fraud. Or, in other words, help to strengthen a case they don’t…seem to have. While we’re wholly against Ebay fraud and support JK’s case fully, we reported here a week ago that according to Ebay officially, Jo does NOT have an injunction against them despite every HP site we’ve looked at saying otherwise. So what’s going on? You can sign here if you wish to get involved in the whole messy situation. More About: What , Hat , Going , Goin

Hip! Hip! ?.Replacement?
2007-03-08 18:34:01 The words “hip” and “old lady” usually go together all too well in a medical situation but Maggie Smith is named TuftsDaily’s 7th Hippest Old Lady! Perhaps not the most prestigious listing but she proves 72 is the new 20. Here’s what they had to say: 7) Maggie Smith - England is pretty small and there are only a few renowned British actresses, and even fewer old ones. Smith has starred in both “Sister Act” (1992) and “Sister Act 2″ (1993), as well as the typical Shakespearian role. Best known recently for her work with the “Harry Potter” series, she has proven once and for all that she is in demand for just about any kind of role. She’s also pretty old (72), making her hipness stand out that much more. Yup, so hip she has to walk through doors sideways. Read the rest here. More About: Men , Place , Cement , Lace
Emma Watson - Trout Lover.
2007-03-08 12:33:03 Emma Watson and trout. We never thought we’d have a news piece on that. No, it’s not a new West End stage play, Emma Watson has recently donated a few items to be auctioned off on the evil Ebay, with 100% of profits going to the Wild Trout Trust. The lots include a Hogwarts Train set signed by Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe, a tote bag issued only to cast/crew of the HP films and a number of other miscellaneous HP goodies such as figurines and a time turner. Check ‘em all out here and support the trout. If you don’t want Emma’s stash, you can always bid on this charming illusration of a travel fly fishing rod. It’ll be a tough call which earns the most. Snape : Action Man
2007-03-07 06:31:02 (image: cards inc) Ohyeaaah. What we’ve really been waiting for all year has finally arrived. The first previews of the Severus Snap e action figure from Cards inc. have turned up on their website. Simply sit him on your bedside table at night for guaranteed Kafka dreams. We are so there. More About: Action
Rags?to riches.
2007-03-07 06:31:02 UPDATE: Ahead of the game as usual, we already reported to you a week ago, Bonhams were auctioning off a number of items from stage and screen today including Sirius’ shabby, torn and stained overcoat from Prisoner of Azkaban. It was expected to go for £4000 but sold today for a staaagggering £15,600 ($30,085) in the end. The phrase “wtf?” springs to mind. And as some people asked, no, it wasn’t for a good cause. The money all went to Angels the costumiers. More About: Rich , Rags to Riches , Riches
Rupert gets papped.
2007-03-07 06:31:02 A video from the NME awards ceremony has turned up on the Sun’s website. You can view it here, by selecting “celebs before NME awards” in the menu to the right. More About: Gets , Pert
Warner Bros are idiots.
2007-03-07 06:31:02 Crazy, crazy, crazy. Not that this affects us since we all purchase the HP dvds the day they’re released, right? But War ner Bros are shipping absolutely no more HP dvds or videos out to shops until the release of the Order of the Phoenix dvd. Apparently this is supposed to make people want it even more. No. It’s just irritating and patently stupid as hell. So if you plan to buy the old films to refresh your memory before July 13th, do it now. Read all about it here.
