More tests are needed. It will take about 10 days to complete the investigation, said Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner, according to the Associated Press. Police had initially said Ledger’s death was caused by a possible drug overdose and appeared to be accidental. Fans have built a makeshift memorial outside the lower Manhattan apartment where Ledger’s body was found.  source
