The singer's lawyer, Alan Chinula, confirmed that Madge was not granted custody of 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James and refused to discuss the ruling further. A judge and another lawyer who saw the ruling, but where not associated with the case, told the Associated Press that Madonna was denied because of residency rules. Malawi adoption regulations require that prospective parents live in the southern African nation for at least 18 months. However, the residency rule was waived in 2006 when Madonna was allowed to take her adopted son, David Banda, to London before his adoption was finalized in 2008. 2008-10-27 17:07:00 Authorities in Chicago are investigating whether the body of a young African American boy found in an SUV Monday is the nephew of singer Jennifer Hudson . Police have been searching for 7-year-old Julian King since Friday, when Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in their home. Julian's stepfather is in police custody but has yet to be charged with a crime in connection to the Hudson family tragedy. An Amber Alert was issued Friday for Julian and cops said they were looking for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. The FBI was also called in to aid in the investigation. On Sunday, Jennifer offered a $100,000 for the safe return of her nephew and thanked fans for their support."Thank you all for your prayers and your calls," said a message on Jennifer's MySpace page.
