2009-09-17 14:55:00 This week, fresh off his trip to Los Angeles, Daniel (theTVaddict) regales co-host Ariel with stories while she does her absolute best only roll her eyes and interrupt with hilarious, albeit highly inappropriate off-topic tangents only 50% of the time. First Look: Lewis Black on THE BIG BANG THEORY
2009-09-16 20:48:00 On the September 28 episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY titled “The Jiminy Conjecture” it’s up to special guest star Entymologist Lewis Black to resolve a wager over the species of a cricket that has Sheldon and Wolowitz staking their most valuable comic books on the answer. Also at stake, Leonard and Penny’s relationship, as the twosome ‘brilliantly’ attempt to recover from an awkward first hookup with alcohol. More photos of which can be found after the jump. Jane Lynch Talks GLEE
2009-09-16 18:50:00 With the exception of a nimble frame that stretches as far as the eye can see, it probably should come as no surprise that Jane Lynch is absolutely nothing like her television alter-ego: McKinley High’s uber-competitive cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. Take our recent interview for example. Rather than hog the credit for the success of GLEE thus far — FOX’s musical comedy hybrid that have critics and fans alike singing its praise — Lynch does something we’re fairly confident Sue Sylvester is physically incapable of doing, share the spotlight. “It’s surreal but in a way it’s expected when you work with the likes of Ryan [Murphy], Ian [Brennan] and Brad [Falchuk],” said Lynch at the recent FOX Fall Junket in Los Angeles. “Our writers have created a world that just really works and has a flavour and tone to it that people love and I’m very proud to be a part of.” She says ‘proud to be a part of it,’ we say, &...

2009-09-16 16:05:00 Good News: THE JAY LENO SHOW saw a 34% decline in viewership its second night out. Bad News: 12 million viewers still to go. [THR] Good News: According to the Hollywood Reporter, multi-camera comedies are primed for a comeback. Bad News: Starting with ABC’s HANK and FOX’s BROTHERS [THR] Good News: Now you too can sleep in the same bed as THE OFFICE star John Krasinski! Bad News: Assuming of course you’ve got a spare 1.245 million dollars lying around to purchase his West Hollywood home that was recently put on the market. [BlockShopper] Good News: UGLY BETTY’s Michael Urie and Becki Newton are back with another season of their hilarious web-only series MODE AFTER DARK. Bad News: Web only does not a spin-off make. Seriously ABC President Stephen McPherson, we’re waiting. [EW] More About: Leno , John Krasinski , Morning

For the love of God, enough is enough! WILL WIN: JIM PARSONS Not only is Parsons universally recognized as one of the nicest actors in Hollywood, you try reciting the rules to Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock without laughing. We promise you, it can’t be done. We’ve tried. SNUBBED: ZACHARY LEVI Adorably nerdy, funny to boot, plus he knows kung fu! First Look: Kristin Chenoweth Goes GLEEK!
2009-09-16 02:15:00 Get ready for Kristin Chenoweth like you’ve never seen before. For on Wednesday September 30th, the incomparable star of both stage and screen will drop by McKinley High to play who co-star Jane Lynch described in a recent interview with theTVaddict.com as “a drunk Glee club has-been who will really show the kids how to put on a show.” As April Rhodes, in the appropriately titled ‘The Rhodes Not Taken,’ Chenoweth will also show Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry what could happen if she doesn’t make it big. More first look photos of which can be seen after the jump.

Morning Static: TV News That Makes Us Sad
2009-09-15 18:18:00 Last night’s debut of THE JAY LENO SHOW, which by all accounts was simply THE TONIGHT SHOW an hour and a half earlier was seen by 17.7 million viewers. God help us all! [The Live Feed] Patrick Swayze has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, dying at the far too young age of 57. [AP] Reminding us that Maura Tierney really isn’t coming back to NBC’s PARENTHOOD comes the news that MAD ABOUT YOU’s Helen Hunt is in talks to replace her. [THR] Kate Gosselin is looking to develop a VIEW-like morning show with television cooking queen Paula Deen. [E! Online] DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star Kathryn Joosten has lung cancer. 2009-09-15 17:52:00 In anticipation of Sunday’s EMMY Awards airing on CBS at 8PM, theTVaddict.com is proud [or not-so-proud depending on how things turn out] to once again present our GUARANTEED EMMY WINNERS 2009* SHOULD WIN: MICHAEL EMERSON Whose morally ambiguous Benjamin Linus will go down in history as one of the small screen’s most entertaining (and devious) antiheroes. WILL WIN: JOHN SLATTERY Sadly, we have a feeling that Slattery’s suave and stylish Roger Sterling (Who recently left his wife for a woman half is age) is seen as quite the aspirational figure in Hollywood circles. SNUBBED: MICHAEL HOGAN On a ship full of Emmy-worthy candidates, Hogan’s frakktastic portrayal of Saul Tigh stands out. You Be the Critic: GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL & THE JAY LENO SHOW
2009-09-15 16:09:00 Matthew Morrison, the TV Addict, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer If there was one downside to attending last night’s FOX Fall Eco-Casino Launch Party (see above photo of your very own TV Addict ‘gleeking’ out with a few familiar faces!) it was that I missed out on some fairly important premieres. Which is why yet again I’m turning it over to you — my far smarter and better looking readers — to put your critics hat on and post away with your thoughts on last night’s premieres of GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL and THE JAY LENO SHOW. Reminder: KING OF THE HILL Signs Off Tonight
2009-09-14 01:47:00 By: Aleks Chan After 13 seasons on the brink of cancellation, one of television’s most underappreciated family comedies comes to a close with an hour-long finale (Sunday 8PM on FOX). The first half of which is actually just a new episode — the real goodbye is the second half, where Hank and his son finally bond over (in what only seems appropriate for KOTH) their shared love of beef when Bobby joins a meet-inspection team. If you’ve never seen this hilarious, often incisive telling of family issues and red state America, you’ve been missing a series that had more fully-realized characters, sense of storytelling, and things to say (and funny ways to say it) than half of the live-action comedies in the last decade, and you should definitely start catching the re-runs. The final scene is touching, bringing together the Hill s and all the characters that made the fictional town of Arlen, Texas a destination long overlooked. We [Think] We Know Who Mike Married on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
2009-09-12 00:26:00 When we last left our friends over on Wisteria Lane, everybody’s favorite plumber Mike Delfino was in the midst of saying “I Do.” Unfortuantely, no thanks to spoiler-phobe creator Marc Cherry (who would be the first to admit he has a flair for the dramatic) fans are still waiting to discover whether Susan or Katherine is the lucky bride. That is, until now. Where, if you ask us, these first look photos from the upcoming sixth season premire of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (airing Sunday September 27 on ABC at 9PM, CTV in Canada) that feature a euphoric Susan and a not-so-happy Katherine provide for some pretty conclusive evidence. Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Fall’s Most Anticipated New Dramas
2009-09-11 19:03:00 The GOOD WIFE Now, stop us if you’ve heard this one before. A public figure gets caught in a very-public scandal and must defend himself while his mortified/humiliated wife graciously stands by his side. Of course, what you probably haven’t heard — after the cameras, nosey reporters and the invitations to guest co-host THE VIEW quiet down— is what happens next. Which is where the titular wife (played to pitch perfect perfection by ER vet Julianna Marguilies) comes in. Will Marguilies’ Alicia Florrick be able to navigate the complexities of work and family while husband Peter (Chris Noth) serves time in the crowbar salon? It certainly will be fun to watch, especially thanks to some of Mrs. Florrick’s new co-workers who include Matt Czuchry (GILMORE GIRLS), Josh Charles (SPORTS NIGHT) and the always entertaining Christine Baranski (CYBILL). THE GOOD WIFE premieres on Tuesday September 22nd at 10PM on CBS, GlobalTV in Canada FLASHFORWARD Why does the entire ... More About: Dramas , Addict

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Reasons We’re Excited For FRINGE’s Second Se
2009-09-11 00:54:00 Love is in the air After a long day of saving the world from paranormal phenomena and mutated serial killers that may-or-may-not-be from ‘the other side (dimension?),’ it should probably come as no surprise that two of your favorite series regulars succumb to temptation on Thursday’s second season premiere. But what might come as a surprise is which member (or members) of Fringe division lock lips! Needless to say, like most everything on the series, we guarantee you will not see it coming. The truth is out there Which is our way of saying that X-FILES fans in particular should pay extra close attention to Thursday’s episode that have writers J.J. Abrams and Akiva Goldsman unexpectedly tipping their hat to the paranormal FOX series that started it all. Agent Charlie Francis Even though actor Kirk Acevedo did announce via facebook that he was fired, don’t believe everything you read. Or rather, do believe it. Kinda. It will make Thursday’s episode ... More About: Reasons , Addict
Spotlight on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Star Nina Dobrev
2009-09-10 17:29:00 Nina Dobrev with the TV Addict’s trusty sidekick Mac WHY YOU KNOW HER: Before heading south of the border to headline THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, Nina Dobrev was perhaps best known for her portrayal of DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION’s very own version of ‘Juno MacGuff,’ full-time high school student/mom and part-time model (natch!) Mia Jones. ON THE SUCCESS OF HER FELLOW DEGRASSI ALUM: Not that Dobrev really needs to remind us, but many DEGRASSI grads have a knack for going onto even bigger and better things. “Drake [Aubrey Graham] is doing music, Shenae [Grimes] is on 90210 and Jake Epstein is starring in Spring Awakening. We’re all kind of moving on to new chapters in our career, yet DEGRASSI still remains a huge part of our lives. [Prior to starting shooting THE VAMPIRE DIARIES] I went back and did a couple of episodes for the new season.” ON THE DARK SIDE OF STARDOM: As fellow Canadian Shenae Grimes discovered first hand, there is a downside t... Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Fall’s Most Anticipated New Comedies
2009-09-09 19:31:00 COMMUNITY For his first regular series television project, THE SOUP’s Joel McHale proves he’s no dummy… by enrolling in Community College. No, really. Rather than go down the sitcom route that has plagued so many big names prior (see: Geena Davis, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Bette Midler to name a few) McHale cleverly decided to surround himself with perhaps the most talented group of quirky newcomers since Dunder Mifflin opened up a branch in Scranton. Yup, thanks to Chevy Chase, Allison Brea and our prediction for this Fall’s break-out star Danny Pudi (Sorry Jack McBrayer, you’re so 2007), we finally have a reason to be excited for school. COMMUNITY premieres on Thursday September 17 at 9:30PM on NBC, CityTV in Canada COUGAR TOWN Heading into the fall season, there was little doubt that the Courteney Cox starring, Bill Lawrence produced comedy was going to make this list. Unfortunately, rather than offer up big laughs, COUGAR TOWN is little more... More About: Comedies , Addict
You Be the Critic: 90210 and MELROSE PLACE
2009-09-09 17:43:00 Thanks to last nights much-anticipated return of 90210 and MELROSE PLACE the TV Addict finally gets to scratch that itch by typing those four magical words that we’ve been jonsin’ for all summer long, “You Be The Critic .” Which if you’re new to theTVaddict.com (and by the way, thanks for stopping by) is YOUR opportunity to post away with your take on last night’s television. But before you do, a few random musing if we may. As advertised, 90210 did in fact offer up a “New Beginning,” cleverly repositioning the series around the trifecta of talent that is Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Adrianne (Jessica Lowndes, sporting some much needed lush new locks!). Leaving sullen Shenae Grimes’ Annie Mills flying solo towards a dangerous downward path of booze, sex and public humiliation (Which gets much worse next week, just wait!) Just how much fun was last night’s 90210? Put it this way, between the much-impr... More About: Place , Melrose , Melrose Place
Review: GLEE
2009-09-09 15:18:00 By: Aleks Chan My original trepidation with GLEE was that while the pilot was marvellously executed – showcasing its wry sense of humor (reminiscent of Alexander Payne’s Election), game covers of modern pop songs, and a stellar cast – the characters were broadly drawn and somewhat stereotypical. If the show is going to work as a serious portrayal of a high school show choir group and satirize it at the same time, it’s going to need – hell, demand – characters more sophisticated than worn high school archetypes (the jocks, the cheerleaders, the closeted gay kids and loud, diva-like black girls). After screening two more episodes, there are definite signs that creator Ryan Murphy (NIP/TUCK) will be fleshing out the cast of ‘New Directions’ and its supporting characters, slowly but surely. Episode 3, for instance, focuses primarily on Kurt (Chris Colfer), who helps the football team’s losing streak by teaching them the choreography to Beyoncé’s “S... More About: Review
