After hearing a multitude of wonderful things about Tim Kring’s new drama series TOUCH, about a boy who finds patterns that link people scattered across the globe, I was immediately excited to see the pilot episode. Upon viewing, I was even more excited about the series. TOUCH is a remarkable and heart-warming story of a boy who does not speak (misdiagnosed as being autistic), who sees the most extraordinary patterns in random events and numbers. Starring Kiefer Sutherland as Martin Bohm, and David Mazouz as his mute son Jake Bohm, the series is also a story of a father looking for a way to understand his gifted son. It is only once Martin starts seeing the pattern in the random numbers that his son is obsessed with that he discovers that Jake is struggling to communicate to prevent a series of seemingly disconnected catastrophes. If you happened to be casually flipping channels over the past few nights at 10 p.m., there’s a decent chance you may have come across a scene right out of 24. There sat a man, stripped to his skivvies, being tortured in some rather creative ways. First, he had hot wax poured upon his… er… let’s go with “junk.” Then, he was doused with water and poked repeatedly in the chest with jumper cables attached to a car battery (this being the “electric purple nurple” referenced in the headline). Finally, he was covered with gasoline and set ablaze, all at the hands of a fiery redhead with vengeance on her mind. Good News : NBC has ordered a Dick Wolf-produced action-driven drama exploring the Chicago Fire Department and a Jason Katims hour-long set in an underfunded LA County Hospital. Bad News : Picking up shows that smell an awful lot like reboots of the Network’s greatest hits (See: THIRD WATCH and ER) doesn’t exactly exude confidence in the perennial fourth place network’s rebuilding process.   Looking at the season ahead and where the cursed lives of Aidan, Josh and Sally will venture in the second season of BEING HUMAN, co-producers Anna Fricke and Jeremy Carver provided some clues in a recent conference call with press.  BEING HUMAN is going darker, deeper and into the unknown as the show ventures into new territory and diverges from the British series of the same name.   Last season many of the plots were similar to the U.K. show, can we expect that the U.S. show will branch off on its own this season? ANNA: Yes, we made a decision this year to do completely original storylines. JEREMY:  That said, I think given that the show obviously has its roots in the British version, so there’s always going to be an inevitable crossover just by virtue of swimming in the same pond. Megan Park Dishes On Her Fairytale New Role in A CINDERELLA STORY: ONCE UP

In a world where vampires and werewolves are natural enemies, Michael Trevino’s character Tyler Lockwood is an anomaly.  Having been transformed from mere werewolf to hybrid werewolf/vampire after ingesting Klaus and Elena’s blood, Tyler was ecstatic to find himself living empowered with the senses, speed, superior abilities of both supernatural species.  But as he should have surely known, there was a downside to becoming a hybrid – it enslaved Tyler to Klaus through a sire-bond that cannot be broken.   This bond was tested in last week’s episode ‘Our Town,’ when Klaus ordered Tyler to bite Caroline – which would kill her as a werewolf bite kills vampires.  Believing he still had his free-will intact, Tyler refused.  But it was to his horror when he discovered that the sire-bond was strong enough to act without his conscious choice, and as Tyler kissed Caroline in celebration of her birthday, he unconsciously bite her as instructed.  The mutual horror written a...
