Jenny’s TV Guide: Monday September 1
2008-09-01 23:08:00 Monday marks the season finale [and quite possibly the series series finale] of The Middleman on ABC Family at 10/9c. More importantly, tonight also marks the start of the Fall season. On the CW, we’ve got the premieres of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill, starting at 8/7c. While FOX offers up the 2-hour season premiere of Prison Break, starting at 8/7c. Also premiering tonight is the series premiere of Raising the Bar on TNT at 10/9c. The series follows the lives and cases of young lawyers who have been friends since law school but now work on opposing sides. Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack on Saved By the Bell & NYPD Blue) stars as an idealistic public defender who will stop at nothing to help those who cannot help themselves. Gloria Reuben (ER) plays his passionate and protective boss. Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) plays the imperious judge who hears their cases. The series also stars Teddy Sears (Ugly Betty), Melissa Sagemiller (Sleeper Cell), Currie Graham (Boston... More About: Guide , Monday , September
Tonight’s Season Premiere Picks: PRISON BREAK, GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE H
2008-09-01 16:25:00 PRISON BREAK [FOX 8PM, GlobalTV in Canada] Do you really need to know anything outside of the fact that Michael and Sara are reunited? What’s that, you do? Okay then, how about this for a little teaser. By the time the clock strikes 10PM, a major character will no longer be with us. While the lives of one, possibly two others hang in the balance. GOSSIP GIRL [CW 8PM, ‘A’ Channel in Canada] Here’s the thing. Either Chuck and Blair spent their entire summer watching one of this TV Addicts favorite all-time guilty pleasure movies CRUEL INTENTIONS. Or something’s up with the water in the Hamptons. Because when GOSSIP GIRL returns tonight after a far too long summer hiatus. Chuck and Blair’s scheming reaches new heights, Dan has evolved into a genuine Ladies man and Nate makes a case for real-life actor Chace Crawford’s money demands by traipsing around in his boxers for half the episode. Exclusive Interview: PRISON BREAK Star Wentworth Miller
2008-09-01 15:28:00 The TV Addict and Wentworth Miller in Los Angeles, August 2008 With the two-hour season premiere of PRISON BREAK premiering tonight, this TV Addict thought that this would be as good a time as any to run our exclusive interview with star Wentworth Miller who was kind enough to take some time out of his hectic schedule to sit down with me at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles. So I couldn’t help but notice that once again PRISON BREAK seems to have re-invented itself. Wentworth Miller: Yeah, one of the hallmarks of the show is that we’re not afraid to take what we already know works, clear it out and re-invent it season after season. Which is risky, but I think it’s paid off so far. Does it make it easier as an actor knowing that every season is going to be completely different? It does keep things more interesting than your average procedural drama where the only thing that changes episode after episode is how the victim died. As an actor, it gives you ... The TV Addict Gets Voted “Nice Boy of the Week”
2008-08-31 16:20:00 Question: What do Zachary Levi, Simon Baker and the TV Addict have in common? I mean aside from our obvious charm, acting chops and good looks? We’ve all been voted nicegirlstv.com’s “Nice Boy of the Week.” No really! After shamelessly posting last week’s FRINGE premiere party photos on theTVaddict.com, it turns out that someone, outside of my immediately family that is, took notice. Announced Nicegirlstv.com on their web site: “Our new Nice Boy is - drum roll, please - that curly-headed boy, that lovable Canadian, the TV Addict himself, Daniel. We couldn’t resist.” I mean, talk about surprising. Who knew that snagging photos with virtually any celebrity within stalking distance would reap such rewards. Next up, PEOPLE’s 50 Most Beautiful Issue. So Clooney, Pitt and Damon, watch out!

A Conversation with PRISON BREAK Stars Robert Knepper and Jodi Lyn O’Keef
2008-08-29 19:14:00 Since not knowing what is going to happen next is half the fun of PRISON BREAK, this TV Addict thought he’d take a different approach when given the unique opportunity to sit down with actors Robert Knepper and Jodi Lynn O’Keefe at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel. I hope you like it. Should I read anything into the fact that the two of your are doing interviews together today, or is it purely coincidence? Jodi Lyn O’Keefe: No we’re absolutely alluding to what’s going to happen this season. We’re teaming up, two bad guys taking over the show. I had the chance to catch the first episode and it was a lot of fun, like every season premiere of PRISON BREAK, the show yet again reinvents itself. Robert Knepper: A lot of stuff happens in that first episode. Are you excited to be working together? JL: I really am. I’ve been really looking forwarrd to wrokign with Robert. He’s been my favorite character since the beginning. RK: Here’s a tw... More About: Stars , Prison Break , Break , Prison

2008-08-28 17:40:00 Good News : NBC has already gone ahead and picked up CHUCK for its entire second season Bad News : Which as much as we love CHUCK, probably says a lot more about the sorry state of the Peacock Network’s fall slate. The TV Addict Survives a Face-to-Face with TERMINATOR Star Garret Dillahunt
2008-08-28 15:46:00 Note to TV Addict : Do Not ask Garret Dillahunt questions that might make him angry. Look at the size of those hands! At first glance, one can’t help but feel slightly intimidated by actor Garret Dillahunt. Not only does he quite literally tower over me, as evidence by the hilarious photo I’ve posted above. The man has made a career out of playing a killer robot sent from the future, an assassin, not to mention Jesus Christ. But thankfully, Mr. Dillahunt wasn’t anything like the characters he is best known for portraying, as I found out recently when he was kind enough to sit down with me at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles to talk about what is in store for Cromartie on the upcoming season of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. Congratulations on becoming a series regular this year. I guess they liked what I did last year, which is good. So what’s in store for Cromartie this season? They’re giving him a lot more brains. He’s ge... More About: Star , Face , Terminator

10 Questions with Wentworth Miller
2008-08-27 21:21:00 Since this TV Addict won’t be publishing his very own exclusive one-on-one with Wentworth Miller until Monday, I thought I’d parse some interesting tidbits I gleaned while taking part on a recent conference call that Wentworth Miller was kind enough to take part in to help promote the upcoming two-hour season premiere on September 1, 2008. 1. Was Michael’s reunion with Sara everything you hoped it would be? Wentworth Miller: Absolutely. I was just happy to see Sara back. I really felt her absence Season Three. I felt that her return was important not only to my character, but also to the show in general. What can I say; the fans have spoken. Sara returns. 2. At what point did you realize that Sarah Wayne Callies might be coming back? I think it was at some point during the strike that I started hearing rumors that Sarah was returning, that the fans were organizing write-ins and petitions and I think that’s emblematic of where we are in terms of television an... Guess the Cover: EW’s Fall TV Preview
2008-08-27 15:56:00 Not that this will come as a surprise to anyone remotely familiar with theTVaddict.com, but this TV Addict’s favorite magazine is Entertainment Weekly. And with the Fall TV Season just around the corner [and yes, I realize I sound like a broken record], it’s time once again to play a little game I like to call ‘Guess the Cover ’ of my favorite issue — EW’s Fall TV Preview . Now as you may recall from last year, theTVaddict.com’s non-existent crack research staff has done a little digging and come to the conclusion that EW’s Fall TV Preview cover traditionally falls into one of two categories. It either highlights one of the fall’s most buzzed about new show or rewards the previous season’s ‘it’ show. (more…)
Bold Fall TV Prediction #1: Michael Phelps to Host SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE?
2008-08-27 15:44:00 As we inch closer and closer to the start of the fall television season, theTVaddict.com will be periodically going out on a limb to make a few bold predictions. Bold Fall TV Prediction #1: Continuing the tradition of combining incredibly talented stars of the sporting world with incredibly unfunny comedy sketches, [see: the highly unfunny LeBron James], SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE will make the unfortunate decision headlines yet again by snagging Olympic Gold Medal record-breaker Michael Phelps to hosts its 34th season premiere. The TV Addict Had the Time of His Life at FOX’s Premiere Party for FRINGE
2008-08-26 23:18:00 The TV Addict (right) with EW’s Michael Ausiello As evidence by this post’s unapologetically cheesy title, theTVaddict.com is putting aside all pretense of professionalism and journalistic integrity for a moment to simply say this. Monday night’s party celebrating the series premiere of FRINGE on FOX was pretty much this TV Addict’s ultimate TV fantasy come true. On an uber-trendy non-descript loft overlooking the Hudson river, not only did this incredibly lucky TV Addict get the opportunity to meet two people in the world of television journalism whom I hold in the highest regard — Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello [pictured above] and Television Without Pity’s Dan Manu, I got to mix and mingle with a few other faces you may be just slightly familiar with. Edward James Olmos Talks BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Finale: “It’s brutal wha
2008-08-26 14:41:00 By: Melissa Girimonte My mission for FanExpo 2008 in Toronto was simple – attend the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA [BSG] Q&A. Those fans lucky enough to get in enjoyed an hour of Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama) and Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen Tyrol) as they shared stories from behind the scenes, revealed details on both the final episodes and the upcoming film, and even hinted at who could be revealed as the final Cylon. Olmos, in his first appearance at a North American sci-fi conference, spoke passionately about his experience on the show. He stated that BSG is “the finest dramatic show in TV history so far.” He expanded on this by explaining how the sci-fi genre allows the exploration of issues that other dramatic series will not go near. Olmos remarked that BSG has not only elevated the entire sci-fi genre, it has also elevated dramatic structure overall. He also paid tribute to the longevity of the series – that 25 years from now, there will be an eve... More About: Battlestar Galactica , Finale , Brutal

Fall TV Preview 2008: TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
2008-08-25 10:14:00 When we last left Sarah Connor and Co: The season ended off with a bang [literally!] as Cameron fell victim to an apparent car bomb. This season: Picks up immediately thereafter, as Sarah, John and Derek deal with the fairly shocking aftermath of what just happened. Turns out, robots and car bombs don’t exactly mix and Summer Glau wasn’t kidding when she told the TV Addict in a recent interview that, “Cameron is more unpredictable then ever.” In fact, it’s Cameron’s unpredictably that leads to one helluva surprising scene in the season premiere’s opening moments. Something that will both literally and figuratively divide the Conner clan forever. Which is unfortunate, because Sarah, John, Derek and Cameron are really going to need to work together this season. Especially when they come face-to-face with new series regulars Catherine Weaver [Shirley Manson] and the always menacing Cromartie [Garrett Dillahunt]. SMALLVILLE’s Michael Rosenbaum & Laura Vandervoort at FanExpo 2008
More articles from this author:2008-08-24 17:58:00 By: Melissa Girimonte SMALLVILLE fans were treated to a very Q&A with Michael Rosenbaum and Laura Vandervoort at FanExpo 2008 in Toronto. The lineup began early and snaked around the convention floor as the crowd waited to see Lex Luthor and Supergirl, characters not returning for the series’ eight season. From the moment the handsome Rosenbaum, with a full head of hear, and the stunning Vandervoort, looking like a young Charlize Theron, danced on stage, you could tell it was going to be a light, humor-laced Q&A. Rosenbaum started things off by complimenting hometown girl Vandervoort’s parents, seated in the front row. He mentioned that their daughter worked hard on SMALLVILLE, and looked better than him. He and Vandervoort constantly joked around between questions, sharing stories of pranks on set that he orchestrated. Vandervoort did say that his humor helped with her nervousness in her first major role, although he’d often distract her from her lines and mess ... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
