Casey Serin, You Are....Safe
2008-02-23 01:44:00 Casey Serin appears to be safe from any legal consequences of his failed real estate investment scheme. The FBI has decided not to go after borrowers that overstated income on their mortgage loans.Even though such an offense is already a Federal crime, it appears people who took out liar's loans will get a free pass.According to an article published yesterday, the FBI has decided to go after the bigger fish in the real estate flop.Although lying on a mortgage application is a federal crime, borrowers who committed mortgage fraud are low on the FBI's list of priorities. Joseph Schadler, an FBI spokesman, said investigators will be focusing on organized property flipping rings and bogus foreclosure rescue schemes instead of lying buyers.'We're going to pick the ones that are the most egregious and have the greatest impact on the economy,' Schadler said. 'Fraud for property is less impactful on the economy than the speculative fraud where people are trying to flip homes for prof... More About: Casey Serin , Casey , Safe

Casey Serin and Dr. Phil Show
2008-01-17 01:28:00 Dear Dr. Phil watchers,I am assuming you recently saw the episode featuring Casey Serin of Iamfacingforeclosure.com fame. If you have not been exposed to him in his previous media stories, you may be a little confused as to why so many people write about and hate this person. Please be aware the comments you see on this site and others are made by people who have been following Casey’s story for a year and a half. It may be confusing as to why people hate this guy so much and pay so much attention to him. For those that are interested, here is a list of places you’ll need to go to even begin to grasp the story. Be warned, the Casey story is highly addictive. It may take you weeks to pore through everything written about him. To get an idea of the position Casey came from, please read my interview series that was conducted before his first national media exposure in USA Today. I took a lot of heat for writing the series from his perspective. I also publicly s... More About: Show , Dr Phil
KoiCast Thread
2008-01-16 02:27:00 It's obvious with the Dr. Phil episode airing tomorrow that this won't be the last KoiCast. BTC and WWTF are hoping to co-host a wrap-up KoiCast on Sunday.Casey's behavior around the Dr. Phil exposure has been quite strange. First he said he didn't want to come on the KoiCast. Then he actively promoted his appearance on the show. Finally, he removed all the new promotional material from serin.us. I suppose if he could have undone the email, he would have done that too.Anyway, use this post to discuss tonight's upcoming KoiCast. More About: Thread
Casey's Almost Back
2008-01-15 03:54:00 It's funny what imminent national exposure will do to an attention starved fliptard - Hey,I will be on the Dr. Phil show this Wednesday! 7PM Chanel 31 in Sacramento. Use this link to look up your state for local stations and times:http://drphil.com/shows/listing/I will try to get a recording of it and post it here: http://serin.usMy Current Status:The show was taped a few months ago. I'm still trying to save my marriage. Following Dr. Phil's advice by staying off-line and working a steady job. Unfortunately there hasn't been much progress. Still hoping though. Prayers appreciated!!And I still have 250 to 500K of defaulted debt and foreclosure deficiencies to deal with (plus other more serious legal issues). And I don't think bankruptcy will be a good move for me.I'd love to pay it all off instead. That would be a sweet comeback story. We'll see...By the way, do you know anybody who is facing foreclosure?I can help by sharing my experience ... More About: Back
Casey Serin Appears on Dr. Phil Show
2008-01-13 07:10:00 The long awaited Dr. Phil Show with our favorite failed flipper finally makes the airwaves.Watch Wednesday, after Tuesday's final (pinky swear) KoiCast, to see Dr. Phil hand Casey some direct advice. I wonder what Dr. Phil's take on the anonymous representative b.s. would be. Maybe Dr. Phil will call into the KoiCast and tell us?Here's the teaser from Dr. Phil's website -Do you know someone who says he or she has a great idea to make a lot of cash overnight? Does this person spend all their time, energy and money trying to make a better this or that? Dr. Phil's guests have their heads in the clouds but no money in the bank, and their loved ones want to give them a reality check. First up, Dave thinks his big–money break is around the corner. He says once one of his deals comes through, he'll being living high on the hog, though for now he lives in a tent. His ex-girlfriend, Diane, says she would marry Dave if he could get his finances figured out. Find out why Dave's mom ... More About: Casey Serin , Dr Phil
Final KoiCast - I Really Mean It This Time
2008-01-12 02:15:00 Ok, ok. Due to popular demand at CHC, I've decided to conduct the January 15th KoiCast after all. Casey said he wasn't interested in appearing, but others still want to do it anyway.I've asked at CHC for lots of audience participation because I really don't want to try and carry this thing. The Casey story is over and that horse has been beaten far past death.Of course we'll need some topics of discussion for the call. Casey is still working, but we don't know about the divorce proceedings or potential criminal charges. Both will certainly be KoiCast topics. Please use the comment section to provide other potential discussion points. The KoiCast has been scheduled. I don't intend to do another one, so please talk about everything that will provide the necessary closure. More About: Time , Final
Casey Serin Story - R.I.P.
2008-01-10 02:46:00 I'm not a doctor, but today I'm going to play one on the Internet and call the Casey Serin story over. Time of death, January 9, 2008, 6:46 pm.I emailed Casey the other day to check in and see if he was going to give us an update on the January 15th KoiCast. He replied -Still working, but at this point I don't have any desire to go on thetalkcast.Fair enough. I'm tired of this story and I'm glad Casey seems to have moved on. He's been off the Internet for nearly two months now. I know this story has had more lives than Sputnik the cat is entitled to by being a cat. I also know zombies abound in Caseyland, but I really think this story is over.A year and a half ago when Casey started, he was a novelty. It was funny. Casey was a tragic clown who kept coming back for more. Now it's not so funny, for us, or Casey. He's lost a lot in real life and we're all learning how Casey type fraud, organized fraud and lender fraud has sunk the housing market and pushed the Americ... More About: Story
Goldspring and Passive Income
2008-01-01 03:36:00 Even a broken clock is right twice a day. The blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Fliptards stumble upon success every once in a while. Such is the current outcome with GSPG and Casey's venture into stocks last April 1.Since purchasing the sub penny stock because of an email solicitation, Goldspring has sucked. And then...success!Casey wrote:Take a look at my sweet sub-penny stock:http://finance.google.com/finance?q =gspgRemember I bought that thing at 0.003. Its now at 0.007. I'm glad I held it through the dip and didn't give in to "sensible advice".Despite skepticism the stock would immediately lose value, GSPG has managed to hang on. Today it closed at .0115 and it's been as high as .0138. What does that translate in real money...in Casey's money?Casey bought $4,000 of GSPG, on corporate credit, at .003. That's 1,333,333 shares of a stock that is traded in 5000 quantity increments. Today's value? $15,333.33. A nice return on investment from the fecal ov... My Response to Slave Casey
2007-12-12 01:31:00 My response to Casey 's ridiculous "slavery" claim about working -The slaves worked hard all day long and all they got was shelter and food. That's all the average person working an average job today is able to buy with their income. We're slaves to our jobs. They were fed, clothed and sheltered with the bare minimums to survive. There was no health care. They were beaten, raped and killed. There is no comparison to modern jobs. And then when we want a little something more than just shelter and food we have to go into debt. That puts us into an even deeper slavery. This is not true. People save and buy things all the time. The dollar is eroding away (inflation) at a much faster pace than our income is increasing and the rest of the money is taxed away. Not true either. The latest reports, today, show wages increased more than consumer costs. Yes, we pay taxes, but not to the point of financial decimation.Slave ry.Not slavery.Trading time for money with a second 2 j... More About: Response
Casey Thinks Jobs are a Form of Slavery
2007-12-08 01:31:00 I'm having a bit of a dilemma here. Do you still want to know about Casey happenings, or do we go into Casey ignore mode and talk about all the other weird, crazy stuff out there? This will be a defining post to measure response.I got an email from Casey last night with a question in it. I responded and asked him how his job was going. You know, the one he's had for two weeks.Casey replies - Job is going great! Learning a lot about internet marketing like running Adwords campaigns and improving conversion rates, etc.. The stuff is exciting and the steady income is a very nice change. No more feeling desperate and much less thoughts of doing impulsive things just to make a little extra money. Overall I'm feeling much less stressed. Its a blessing.I followed up with a positive response - Good for you on the job! Don't you wish you'd done this a long time ago? I hate to say I told you so, but I know this is very important. You'll have real opportunities start com... More About: Slavery , Jobs , Form
The Bomb Squad - Duane's 2nd Response
2007-12-04 03:41:00 For those of you without access to CHC, here is Duane's second and I believe final response to the last KoiCast brouhaha.Back in the day there was a movement of sorts to raise money to help G. A lot of people came out and said they would donate X to her. (I had counted 4-6K in donations.. One person had said they would donate 2K.. didn’t know if they were serious thus the range.. some people said a stated amount.. if no amount was given I just assigned 50 bucks for an average..) I was one of those people. In fact I had made it known on blogs, talkcasts, and I had even told Casey of this fact. (this was around the time casye had FIRST decided to sell the blog with the proceeds going to G… he thought it was great… he said she DESERVED it for all the problems he had caused… Loss Mitt was on the call) The concerns were consistent. How could we donate only to G without Casey getting his hands on the money... Those were valid concerns. I know I would want my money to go to G dire... A More Suitable Job for Casey?
2007-11-29 02:39:00 I stumbled across this "job" tonight and couldn't believe it actually exists. After Casey 's reveal last week that his new job consists of marketing herbal Viagra, I knew it wouldn't last.If the posters at CH.C were right about who his exact employer is, I don't think this job will last too long. It's another MLM, b.s. type of job. If they pay Casey, good, but I don't see it lasting too long. However, the opportunity presented in the job I found tonight could be Casey's ticket to a long term career and wealth. You may remember the concept of The Secret is the power of attraction. If you think it, it will come. Money, health, fame and so on. Now imagine a job where you imagine the clients and sales and make real money. That's what this job offers. Consider:FRANCHISE THE LAWS OF ATTRACTION: EXECUTIVE SALES IN ABUNDANCE Sounds good...NATIONAL company with proven track record and explosive growth success attracting motivated people to sell high-end personal development prod...
Duane's Response to the KoiCast
2007-11-26 01:52:00 As promised, here is Duane's response about the KoiCast the other night.Have you ever been depressed? Not sad depressed, depressed to the point where you can't get out of bed, your entire body feels like an elephant is sitting on top of it...where all you want to do is roll up in a ball and cry? All the while feelings of hopelessness race through your head? I have been there. It's not fun and I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy. Yet that’s where G was at one point. She was so down, her voice so faint that I literally had to put my left hand over my left ear to hear her – and I was in a quiet room. Talking to her in that state mad me sad beyond belief - I wanted to do something, most guys I know have a natural tendency to try and “fix” things. From that standpoint I am no different. I talked to her about seeing a counselor. I wanted her to have an objective ear.. someone to talk to that could be a good listener and get her out of her funk. I wanted to send her... A New Shiny for Casey?
2007-11-25 18:03:00 Donald Trump intends to prevent the housing crisis by teaching people how to invest in foreclosed properties. What a guy!Casey , clear your schedule the first weekend in December. This is a "free" scaminar, but be sure to take some money to buy the "support materials" you'll need to be "successful" with the program. Maybe you should dust off that corporate credit card just in case the Donald has something worthwhile to sell? It's the new shiny everybody. Foreclosure investing.Be afraid. Be very afraid. The Bomb Squad - Annie's Response
2007-11-21 23:16:00 I have been asked by Duane to post a reply concerning the information raised by T/Nacho during last night's KoiCast. The following was written by Annie. Due to prior commitments, Duane won't be able to reply until this weekend. I will post it when he sends it to me.First, I owe no one any explanation. Since the start of my friendship with G, I have promised her respect and privacy – and never once broken that promise. Absolutely no one, with the exception of Duane, even knew that G and I had forged a friendship. Our talks and discussions, at her request, are confidential – they do not need to be shared with anyone, much less disclosed on a public “talkshoe” broadcast which can be downloaded by anyone at anytime and manipulated. My loyalty is to G and no one else.Since the KoiCast there appears to have been questions of Duane’s motives, and appearances of propriety, because of his involvement and support of the Serins’. And yes, I do speak of Casey and G... More About: Bomb , Bomb Squad , Squad , Response
Semi-Final KoiCast - Bombs Were Dropped
2007-11-21 07:02:00 I thought my Mystery Guest might be reason enough to tune into tonight's KoiCast, but I was wrong. While Mark Villasenor added some needed insight into why Casey's business plans were failures from the get go, the superfluous cast of characters turned this KoiCast into the bomb!I'm not trying to take credit here, but this was some fortuitous timing. Casey, M. Singh, CHJTS, Duane, Annie, BadjerJim, Nacho! It was an All-Star cast with almost three hours of comedy and tragedy. If there is one KoiCast/Haterzcast you listen to this decade, this is the one.Arch critic John Diddler raves - Good show, NigelSerial troller James Marks rates it a 9/10 and that was before the big bomb was dropped.I know people's real lives are involved here, but you've got to hear it to believe it!Provided Casey keeps his new job, the next KoiCast is scheduled for January 15th, 2008. If he returns to the Internet, of course it will be sooner. We're rooting for Casey now. He sounded resolved that he'... More About: Final , Semi , Were , Icas , Bombs

2007-11-20 01:47:00 I received word back from the mystery guest of tomorrow evening's KoiCast and they have confirmed participation. As a reminder, the KoiCast will begin at 9 pm Eastern. I have scheduled it for an hour, but will be prepared to go longer if necessary.Additionally, the mystery guest has included the following juicy subjects for discussion and will be prepared to share:Their take on Casey’s anticsWhy Casey is doomed to repeated failureCashCallWhy FHB & EMH were doomed for failureThe REAL story behind FHB & EMHFuture predictionsI'll also reveal the reason Casey gave me for abandoning the Escape My House blog. I have invited Casey and Damion as well, but I don't expect an appearance from them. I'd also like to extend an invitation to M. Casey Serin Closes Escape My House
2007-11-18 05:34:00 I didn't really see this coming, at least not so soon. Casey has shut down his newest blog after only eight days of existence.I was looking forward to IAFF part deux with no partners or family to attempt to reign Casey in. It could have been a glorious unencumbered experience.Life will go on.The KoiCast is still scheduled for this Tuesday at 9 pm Eastern time. Casey has indicated to me he will not be calling in, but I do have a special guest who will be calling in. Tune in to get the developing details of the EMH closure and words of wisdom from the special guest.Barring any further developments in the Casey story, this will be the last KoiCast, unless Casey returns to blogging. Casey Goes To School
2007-11-17 08:23:00 Casey writes:I’ve taken many investing, foreclosure and short sale classes so I have a pretty good grasp on the topic (and have been a part of many short sales too). This class I’m going to today is at a title company. They’re targeting real estate agents to show them how to work this developing niche of short sales. It’s a free class. The title company just wants your business in return.Haterz assume this is yet another "scaminar" that involves wasted money. Commenter Bird Dogging Mailman corrects an error and astutely notes -I should read more carefully. The class is free; that’s good, at least, you’re not blowing any more money that you don’t have on these damn seminars.Regardless, though, nobody here really cares what your insights on short sale seminars are. They want to hear about your life.I just want to correct some misconceptions I've seen written about this particular situation. It is not uncommon for title companies to offer classes and seminars. Casey's Dreams of Passionate Blogging Come Soooo Close
2007-11-16 01:41:00 Imagine reading the following quote about a blog story being stolen by the New York Times:Perhaps I have gone temporarily blind, and there is somewhere in this article an acknowledgement that this story was "broken" on a blog. (Not mine, by the way: I Am Facing Foreclosure.com "broke" the story. I ignored it as long as I thought I could.)It may be a Casey fantasy, but it is true in real life. I Am Facing Foreclosure broke a story that was respected enough and accurate enough to be stolen by the New York Times. If you're passionate enough about your blogging, that's where you'll end up. The truth is I Am Facing Foreclosure broke a story because Casey Serin no longer has anything to do with it. It was sold to people who are capable and talented enough to do something with it.Meanwhile, Casey continues to lack the focus necessary to be consistent in even a single post. 2007-11-15 02:40:00 So I've finally gotten access to CHC. My laptop doesn't let me in, but my other computer does. I keep getting "Page Not Found" errors. It has nothing to do with my CHC account. Very strange.I haven't gotten too far in, but one thing is clear; there have been some very strange goings ons between Haterz. The bannings, "sissyfights" and other weird happenings detract from the whole anti-Casey vibe, but it's bound to happen in any community comprised of very different individuals. Then there's Casey's blog du jour. Will my comment get moderated? Should I even be posting there? Will other Haterz get mad at me for commenting? It's draining.Cote's site has returned to its pre-Casey splendor with a few more visitors and inbound links, but it's no longer the place to talk about Casey and I think Rob likes it that way. Emergency KoiCast - Monday November 12th
2007-11-11 17:20:00 An emergency KoiCast is scheduled for Monday , November 12th at 9 pm Eastern time. Scheduled to appear is Boy Wonder Casey Serin. I have also invited Damion Lupo to appear on a KoiCast. Whether he calls into this one is unknown.Casey has used his reason to stop blogging for Damion (his earlier promises) as inspiration to start a new blog (where he doesn't get a base income). Huh?"Transparent" answers are promised for the KoiCast...as long as it doesn't get "too personal."I've come up with a list of questions. StageGold - Nigel's New Job
2007-11-09 01:16:00 Towards the end of the first TalkCast, Casey asked me where I was working. As some of you may know, I was working for a home builder in Utah as their Marketing Director as well as brokering loans part-time. Because of the housing slowdown, half the company was downsized. I was one of those people.I was recently hired by a startup company here in Salt Lake to handle web marketing. iACT, the company I joined, has several products coming to market. Today was launch day for their new website StageGold that consists of an online video player every webmaster and blog author should try. Another product, CinemaForge, is a video converter every video iPod owner and video enthusiast should have. Both products are free.iACT is composed of three veteran web startup entrepreneurs with a lot of success under their belts.
