An Atheist In The Wood
2007-11-24 11:03:00 An atheist was walking through the woods. "What majestic trees"!"What powerful rivers"!"What beautiful animals"!He said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river,he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.He ran as fast as he could up the path.He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"Time Stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky."You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.""Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?Am I to cou... Half Man Half Tree
2007-11-16 08:28:00 With his rootlike feet and gnarled hands, he is known as "The Tree Man".Living in a remote village in the wilderness of Indonesia, 36-year-old father-of-two Dede has stunned medical experts. Most of his body is covered in growths which have become so large and thick they look like twisted tree roots growing out of his skin. Dede says his worst fear is that the cruel disorder will kill him before doctors have a chance to save him."I am scared that it will grow across my face and end up covering it all up," the former construction worker says. "I'm so afraid I won't be able to see, that I won't be able to eat."Dede grew up in a tiny hamlet near Bandung, south of Jakarta, the capital of the volcanic island of Java. He enjoyed a completely normal childhood, but just after he turned 15 he cut his knee in an accident on a building site. The injury - not deemed to be at all serious at the time - was to change his life forever. Within weeks, a huge growth had emerged from inside his woun... More About: Half

5 Smallest Country
2007-09-28 08:34:00 1. Vatican CitySize: 0.17 sq. mi. (0.44 km²)Population: 783 (2005 census)Location: Rome, ItalyThe size of a golf course, the Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. It's basically a walled enclave inside of Rome, Italy. It's so small that the entire country does not have a single street address. The Vatican City may be small, but it is very powerful. It is the sovereign territory of the Holy See, or the seat of the Catholic Church (basically its central government), which has over 1 billion people (about 1 in 6 people on the planet) as constituents. The Vatican City was created in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty (which was signed by one of history's most repressive dictators, Benito Mussolini) and is ruled by the Pope, basically a non-hereditary, elected monarch who rules with absolute authority (he's the legislative, executive and judiciary all rolled into one) - indeed, the Pope is the only absolute monarch in Europe.Another unique thing about the smallest country in the ... Google Phone
2007-09-05 12:35:00 Google Mobile Phone is Coming(Gphone)Google has been lobbying the U.S. Goverment for changes in wireless policy. While it did not achieve as much as it wanted in the planning for the upcoming 700 Mhz spectrum auction in January, it did push for the fact that consumers in the U.S. can buy any phone and use it on any carrier in the future. Meaning that when the Gphone does drop, most likely you'll be able to use it on any carrier you please. The Gphone will most likely be 3G as well, which means video conferencing. Yea.. you can't do that with the iPhone. For you iPhone users though, would this be enough to make you switch? The Observer of London is reporting that Google might be working with HTC and mobile/telecom giant Orange to build a Google Mobile Phone, which could possibly have Google software inside the device, and would be able to do many of the web tasks smartly. The device, article speculates, could go on sale in 2008. (Of course, we would all have forgotten by then,, if it... More About: Google , Google Phone , Googl

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?"The man agreed and told him that the paint and other materials that he might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does he realise that the porch goes all the way around the house?"The man replied, "He should, he was standing on it."A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect his money."You're finished already?" he asked."Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50."And by the way," the blonde added, "it's not Porch. Have You Seen Day And Night At The Same Time?
2007-07-24 18:37:00 This photo is absolutely beautiful. It is historic too as this is the last mission for Columbia..The photograph was taken by the crew on board the Columbia during its last mission, on a cloudless day. The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting. Half of the picture is in night time. The bright dots you see are the cities lights. The top part of Africa is the Sahara Desert.Note that the lights are already on in Holland, Paris, and Barcelona, and that it's still daylight in Dublin, London, Lisbon, and Madrid. The sun is still shining on the Strait of Gibraltar. The Mediterranean Sea is already in darkness. In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Azores Island. Below them to the right are the Madeira Islands. A bit below are the Canary Islands. And further South, close to the farthest western point of Africa, are the Cape Verde Islands.Note that the Sahara is huge and can be seen clearly both during day time and night time.To the left, on top, is Greenland, to...
